It it possible to make the team worse for a second time than they already did?

The Castillo trade killed us. Made us worse, poorer and precluded getting a better starting pitcher.

Boys, it’s do or die time tonight. I went into the home games feeling we had this series locked down, but for many reasons we failed to take advantage of a great opportunity. Attending the two home ga

Oh well

Well pitched ball game, Ramirez hit a very good pitch for a HR, our guys s%*# the bed. Maybe just too inexperienced against a team that's been here before. Improve as hitters by more plate discipline and get some quality arms.

If this ends like this you can look at the end of this season in 1 of 2 ways.

#1, if you believe this was a real playoff team, this was an epic and complete joke job up and down the roster, both to end the playoffs, and to end the regular season.

#2, this was a fairly mediocre team in maybe the worst collective American League in my lifetime that would have been exposed long ago and never gotten to the playoffs in any normal year, but got lucky to get as far as they did.

For me it's for sure number 2, but to lose like THIS possibly sucks so bad.

#2

even though the Getz supporters don't want to acknowledge that uncomfortable side of their miracle stories

Could easily fall back to 4th in the division. Lots of young talent in the division that will get better, and let’s be honest, WSox have a tendency for their hitters to not take the next steps you think they will.

Tigers and Royals are in flux. guardians will be the guardians but I think this core is far more promising then the previous core was. In retrospect, that was a deeply flawed roster. I think players like Chase, Sammy, etc haven't even come close to unlocking their full potential. We need some obvious pitching additions but I trust the front office to make it happen

Fire the hitting coach. These guys have awful approaches. Swinging at junk and watching the hittable stuff. Teel got a hanging curve and just looked at it

Good point, but this team also likely advances without one of the worst trade deadlines ever.

This roster as is would be lucky to get 79 wins next season.

They were basically a .500 team in the second half. They can contend if Getz can add some pieces.

The whole deadline destroyed any high ceiling this team could have had.

Man I just want to crush all of these Cleveland fans dreams in the 9th inning. So badly.

If I hear Guardsball one more time, I may kill myself.

The inexperience finally showed up during our home games. Chasing too much trying to hit the ball 500 feet. Walking way too many guys who otherwise can't hit.

The latter, really. The Sox are not supposed to be here based on the talent question. I’ve enjoyed the ride for what it is, and never expected anything crazy. Be grateful imo

Let's do it.

Grichuk could have caught that.

Halpin just has Newcomb's number I guess.

I'm taking the under on that, I think they massively overachieved this year and caught the league mostly off guard, now that Cleveland has clearly exposed the gaping holes in this roster I think they could be a 4th place team next year and people calling for people's jobs by the ASG, I'll be glad to be wrong

this year the development season was put on hold. Next year we have to see if Shultz and Smith become starters.

Maybe I'm just upset. I don't know if this offense will ever be capable enough to get clutch hits. The pitching development is definitely subpar.

The crowd getting built up as the greatest thing ever killed this s%*#. You know they had to be reading all of that.

Uhhh wtf was that Grichuk

Chase got too caught up in HR parade and totally changed hitting approach from last year to sell out for power

for WAR and salary $$$ good

for playoffs maybe not although he beat the Astros
