The fact that we didn't start him in KC on the day we clinched ended up mattering. Had we pitched him instead of Sandlin, he would have been able to start game 1 in the wild card series, game 1 in the ALDS, and game 4 in the ALDS. I always thought it was stupid to not have a contingency plan in case we didn't win the division.
