  1. At the very least if you hated the current situation, and most of us do, but also see no hope the next couple of years, why would you be wasting your time on a beautiful night watching this crap?

  2. For the love of god, take a breather from White Sox baseball. All you do is b**** & whine about the same things over & over and are single-handedly bringing down the quality of the site.

  3. No thanks. Let the kids play next year. If you lose 100 games again than so be it. This team needs all the top 3 draft picks that it can acquire.

  4. Saw that...another indictment on the coaching staff

  5. That won’t do shit bro. I’d still have to read all the people replying to your non-stop b****ing & whining. Unfortunately this really is North Korea and there’s no ending your tyranny Kim Jung-un.

  6. Oh my God, you mean Yoan Moncada's not coming here to get hitting advice?!?!?! Why didn't anybody warn me?!?!?! Dude, we have entire threads on trade proposals. We endlessly discuss whether Eloy and Kopech should be brought up now or next year. We can and do discuss why Moncada is struggling. That's what makes a message board interesting, regardless of the fact that it has no impact on the actual team. No, I'm not suggesting we just have endless doom and gloom about Moncada, but I do think blaming umpires for the struggle of a top prospect is pointless, and that we can and should discuss what steps he could take to eventually live up to his hype. If I'm just supposed to write "WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" when something cool happens, I'll spend my time elsewhere.

  8. There will be lots of Bryce Bush info coming this week. I interviewed him this week along with NIck Hostetler, the signing scout and two of his high school coaches

  9. We really can’t afford to trade Lopez at this point in time IMO. We need to start building some certainty in the rotation and he’s closer to filling the #3 spot than Giolito is.

  10. Yoan Moncada is not awful. He’s an above average player in a rookie season going through a terrible slump that is making him look at worst slightly below average.

  11. I feel dumber reading this thread that people think Moncada isn't important, that he's better off in the minors. My god people. He's 23 years old with pretty good plate discipline, a good eye. Definitely needs to be more aggressive early in the count. That'll come with more reps.

  12. At risk of igniting a debate, I fail to get why he is so important to the rebuild

  13. Yeah I'm very close to being done with this guy. He's just flat out awful.

  14. I'm beginning to wonder if he is having some vision issues. He looks totally and completely lost, doesn't seem to have any idea of what he wants to do or any type of plan. This is actually getting embarrassing for the kid and the organization.

  15. Just watched the Moncada 3rd strike. If he’s not swinging there with 2 strikes, that’s on him.

  16. And about 5 patches to the massive holes he has in his swing/approach. No doubt in my mind he was a better player when he was called up last year than he is now.

  17. Holy hell that at bat by Timmy sucked. His improved batting eye seems like a distant memory.

  18. Another multi strikeout game for Yoan. This is ridiculous

  19. Any other degenerate bovada heads on this board? Severino just hit 8ks for the over on total strikeouts. Every Yankee starting pitcher went over on strikeouts this series. The Sox face Bieber, Bauer, and Carrasco from Cleveland this weekend. I suspect a ton of ks this weekend as well. Get dat easy money during this putrid Sox season!

  22. See, most people don't find endless complaints and strawman arguments interesting either.

  23. If the Sox don’t win tonight, and it is not looking very good, they are going to have to pretty much run the table the rest of the season to make the playoffs, and even that is probably not good enough.

  25. I'm done making grand declarations about how good x player is going to be for the remainder of the next 2.5 seasons. I've been so wrong on Moncada and Giolito that I'm just going to let it play out and let the play on the field do the talking. No more getting attached to prospects. Take everything I said previously and throw it out. At this point, I'm questioning whether I know as much about baseball as I thought I did.

  27. I’m not trying to be sarcastic or pretentious; genuinely, if that’s how you feel, why are you a fan? Why not root for a team that better aligns with your preferences?

  30. Well, that was a nasty change followed by 2 nasty curveballs. Progress.

  31. This is really tiring. Is there any point where Moncada is actually held responsible for his failures, or are we just going to blame his struggles on umpires? He can get better and he can continue to develop, but we can't just treat him like a golden boy. Right now, he's struck out 17 times in his last 29 PAs. That is NOT the umpires' fault.

  33. This is what I'm thinking of in a prospect for prospect for prospect type swap. We know teams called the Sox about Cordell as it has been reported. But the deals I am thinking are more of a guy maybe in a team's 10-20 range in his mid-20's getting to the point of no longer being called a prospect. No top prospects.

  34. I want to also add that Friday's game is Fireworks night. That's a fantastic way to end the game as the W'Sox fireworks display is pretty awesome.

  35. Metra train into the city and red line to the park is the easiest way to go so you don’t deal with traffic. Just check out the metra schedule. Also, while staying in Waukegan, make sure you go to the Quonset for an excellent, classic tavern thin crust pizza.

  36. This is absolutely remarkable. When Moncada either swings at the first pitch or is ahead in the count (1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 2-1, 3-1) he has an OPS of 1.239. When Moncada has 2 strikes on him, other than a full count (0-2, 1-2, 2-2) he has an OPS of 0.219. Just to rond things out, .729 when he has a full count, and .667 when it's 1-1. He has a 1.081 OPS when he's ahead in the count and a .454 OPS when the pitcher is ahead.

  37. Looking really bad? We don’t know what Moncada is yet, but Kopech looks like a future ace & Basabe has made massive leaps this year. If we hit on two of three it’s a trade well worth it given where we were at the time.

  38. Yes. He needs to adjust to the pitching. This is usually what separates the successful players. The ability to constantly adjust.

  44. Eugenio Suarez is one of the best hitters in the game. He's not going anywhere and is their building block. Nick Senzel is a top 5ish top 10ish prospect and would cost a boat load as well. He is to them as Eloy is to us in a sense. So, this doesn't make much sense.
    1 point
  45. Senzel is a top 10 prospect, his cost would be just as outrageous. We should be aiming a little lower if we do a prospect for prospect swap.

  46. His exact quote was, "We would just want to make sure he’s as well-rounded as possible, whether that be base running, defensively, obviously offensively...and we’re getting very close." That's not as definitive as saying, "he will be called up very soon", like some people are claiming. Not trying to call you out with this post. Just trying to point out that quotes get twisted and taken out of context a lot.

  47. It's so bizarre to me that in this MLB with all of the different makeups the star players have, people can still feel convinced that they know the ceilings of players. We really still doing little infielder = eckstein? Last year all I heard was Albies was basically Yolmer Sanchez. We have a super star that's a 6'8" (judge) monster bookended by a 5'9 centerfielder (betts). Smooth athletic powerhitting MI (baez) next to pudgy short corner infielders (Ramirez, and guess whose having the best season?. A 5'7 batting champion (altuve) And a prototypical golden child (Trout). Don't tell me you know what these guys are capable of. Madrigal wants every ounce from a baseball career. I'll bet on that guy.
