They won't report unless they're 100% confident in their report

Yeah, but if I was Cespedes' agent, I sure as hell would leak it to those guys and a few more that things were getting close to a conclusion in case any team wanted to make a late run.

The Upton discussions with Tigers rumors happened like 10 minutes before it was finalized

That entire Upton process was spectacularly secretive. This one, not so much.

What I don't understand is why would the Nats be interested in paying Cespedes but not Upton?

Interestingly enough -- the Rockies just DFA'd Kyle Parker, which could be signalling a move on their part. Perhaps we could be trading for a Rockies OF instead.

They had to in order to open up a spot for Parra on the 40

If that were the case, and they DFA'd a dude, the Sox would likely be sending over a player on the 40-man roster and they'd need to make room.

Viewed 30,000 times more than any other thread ... more replies ....

Frankly though looking it up I was more surprised than anything that the 4th most popular thread ever was Rios traded for Leury .....

We limit our expectations.

Dont know if this has been posted.

Autotweet. Not my headline. Not my article. I'll stick with unlikely if the thesis is the Mets need to give five years and two opt-outs.

He was referring to that Mets article from ESPN that was posted on here earlier just fyi.
