  1. The trade deadline was simply a total debacle

  3. Its not one game lol. Its par for the course since the ASB

  4. Not worried. I think Reynaldo Lopez will be a breakout star in the postseason, and TLR will ride him like McKeon rode Beckett en route to a World Series.

  5. We’ve always seem to prefer older veteran players over young players -we give up too quickly on young players- Daniel Hudson, Marcus Semien, Nick Madeigal -the list goes on and on But we can’t get enough of the Todd Frazier’s and Melky Cabrera’s

  6. Relievers are so volatile except for a couple of the best of the best in their primes. Kimbrel had already shown major regression over 4 years..he had one nice 30 inning stretch. Ill never get over the fact that we could have had Kimbrel for FREE in the off season and the cubs would have likely paid a little salary to trade him. 3 months later were trading two nice pieces and paying the bill..unreal

  7. Bryant is/was literally the perfect player for this team and he went for 25% of what the Sox gave up for Kimbrel. It will never make sense to me how the Sox didn't end up with him.

  8. If Rodon can only hold his velo for ~2 innings, the Sox are going to regret not building Kopech at all in the second half

  10. Your argument was over a fictional trade that you don't even know would have happened? When you're getting upset about fictional scenarios you invented in your head, it might be time to step away.

  11. I suggested when the TA scandal broke that TLR call a meeting with TA, his wife, and thicc side chick to remediate the dispute. Big misstep if he didn’t intervene.

  14. Ehhh. I don’t know about that. Pretty obvious we weren’t getting the early season Rodon anyway. Giolito, Lynn and Cease still pretty darn good 1-2-3 punch.

  15. Great effort there in the 9th. I think I'd rather see that kid who imitates Kimbrel than the real thing...in fact I'm sure of it.

  16. Imagine giving up two solid pieces for the right to pay a closer coming off two bad years 16 million dollars to be your set up man.

  17. It’s hard to picture this team performing well against good pitchers. They should be so much better considering how great Grandal and Robert are.

  18. What they're doing with this roster is pretty impressive. We've under performed our run differential by 4 wins. They've over performed their run differential by 3 wins. Surely some of that is the manager.

  19. I think the Sox would be a lot better than 8 below .500 in 1 run games with Hinch as the manager.

  20. Cesar tried to hit into the DP. Why even put him on the playoff roster

  21. Happy Rodon Day everyone! His health is the only important thing in this game.

  25. I barely realized sunday ended much of our minor league seasons since none are in the playoffs. DSL is still playing. Anyway, here are my awards for best minor league years. I'm including guys that may have been called up to majors and succeeded as a factor in this, because that's what the minors are for. I'm not including rehabbing major league players though, but Yas was probably our best catcher. What a nice guy. My All Star Team For Minor Leagues - Name / Level / Age : Notes C - Carlos Perez / AA / 25 : Slashed . .264/.313/.418 in birmingham, finding his best power to date. He has always made great contact with just a 7% strikeout rate. TLR raved about his defense in ST, and I honestly have no idea why Nate Nolan is in AAA over him, but he plays a lot in Birmingham. Other Considerations: Xavier Fernandez, Adam Hackenberg 1B - Gavin Sheets / AAAMLB / 25: We know about gavin sheets. Other Considerations: Harvin Mendoza - just not enough power 2B - Yolbert Sanchez / A+ AA / 24: I struggled with this one since at his age he should have done this, but considering how poorly he hit for power in Cuba and his start to the white sox, his . 343 .369 .469 mark in Birmingham makes him seem like he's still on the way up Other Considerations: Lenyn Sosa SS - TIE Jose Rodriguez and Romy Gonzales : I'm not choosing here. Romy went for 20/20 in the tough power environment of Bham, crushed Charlotte, and is now in the Majors. He's played 5 positions this year. Jose rodriguez as a 20 year old went across 3 leagues, with steady power and unbelievable consistency. Other considerations: Colson Montgomery - good approach to start young career 3b - Jake Burger / AAA MLB / 25: we all know jake burger Other Considerations: Bryan Ramos OF (3) Luis Mieses /A+ A A+ / 21: After an awful start, Mieses went down to A and dominated, and since coming up has been a doubles machine. Finished year with a respectable .270 / .312 /.463 across both levels Yoelque Cespedes / A+ AA / 23: after a hot start in BHam his power slowed. He probably could be in AAA to start the year. I'm not really sold by the package, but boy is our outfield bad. Micker Adolfo / AA AAA / 25: Monster power this year, monster Ks. But I will give him credit, he cut down Ks a bit in AAA. But 24 Home Runs across two levels, and they didn't start until May. SP: Norge Vera - please enjoy the tax money Emilio Vargas / AA / 24: is he a prospect? I unno. Does he deserve to be on here after K'ing 99 in 83 IP, with a 2.9 ERA and our pitching being bad? Yes Kade McClure / AA AAA / 25: He was not very good in AAA, but again, we have no pitching. He k'd 77 in 63 ip in Bham, and he's tall. I think he can be a RP. Burke was good, but it was ACL RP: Theo Denlinger K'd 26 in 14 IP Alec Hansen is intriguing to me again, he came on real strong at the end, and found control and was k'ing people left and right Gil Luna struck out 14/9 and finally gave up an ER a few nights ago. Highlights: Infielders Lowlights: Pitching, pitching, pitching

  26. This is exactly what I spent the season talking about. You can't expect a guy who hasn't made it through an entire season in years, to make it through an entire season AND the playoffs. Rodon just isn't that guy.

  27. Rodon hasn’t thrown over 5 innings in 2 months. Hard to dominate anyone doing that. Things weren’t suddenly changing at the snap of some fingers once October rolled around.

  28. You know nothing about The Will To Win. Sit back and learn something, you might like it.

  29. Rodon was the one guy who had the stuff to shut down the best offenses. His start in NY was proof of that.

  30. Maybe his personal problems are affecting him. Maybe we need to sit Liam in the dugout more often. He can light a fire on the guys including TLR

  33. Looking forward to the White SOx sweep. Please post your houston ticket before the series starts so i can unload on the Sox. If there's one thing more wrong than how the sox have played, it's you when proclaiming something bad about the team and what is guaranteed to happen. Sox win WS now; thanks Joe!

  34. Bad day beyond the loss on the field. We don't know if we'll have a good Rodon in October, Kimbrel sucked again so who knows when he'll ever get back to being good, and Hernandez basically cost us the game by playing horrendous defense. Hahn's deadline has been a massive failure. Nothing we've seen so far suggests that Kimbrel and Hernandez will contribute positively in October.

  35. It’s really astonishing how Management got in the way this year from the hiring of the manager to the awful trade made at the deadline

  36. I was told kimbrel was unstoppable and the greatest piece the sox could possibly have acquired

  37. People really decided that Kimbrel having an ERA of *6.00* over 2019 & 2020 just didn't matter.

  38. That ball was a routine ground ball to first base. Kimbrel needs to be better but our defense absolutely screwed us today.

  39. We'd still be leading if Cesar Hernandez decided to at least play pony league level defense.

  40. To those who didn’t like the way “Ricky handled the team” towards the end of last year: thoughts on the he team under Tony as of a late with a better team?

  41. Goodwin is not seeing the ball well tonight. Lots of check swings. They really need to stop playing him.

  45. His flaws have always been there. Now whether people want to see them or not is a different story. But sure, make it about Chris Sale, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and everyone else.

  46. Part of I think what people are forgetting about the Kimbrel trade is that it eases the strain on people like Bummer. I don't think it's a coincidence that Bummer and Crochet have pitched better since that trade. The pressure isn't there for them to be THE GUY. They just have to be key part of the bullpen.
