Sorry Rocky, whatever sentimental feelings I had for the Hawks and their possible recovery just went down the tubes after watching you today. You are right financially, it would be a boom for owners (and if they do it right, for players as well). It's honestly, probably a good strategy for the general fan/public. You are also 100% right that if they can find a way in the CBA to influence more competitive teams, then a larger playoff tournament might actually be OK/work, but I highly doubt that we see teams becoming THAT competitive over this CBA. Drama will still happen, and in your scenario it will probably happen more often. But for me, as a diehard loving baseball fan, I live for every single MLB game in the season. I love the season meaning something. The idea of half the league making the playoffs and taking away games from the season kills that for me. I would hate this down to every bone in my body as baseball is the only sport I follow/love. It would honestly make me consider not following baseball long term. So I am very anti extended playoffs even in light of a sound argument for it as I think it will water down the regular season, which, for me, is truly why I am a baseball fan - for the deep, enduring regular season.

They have been two straight up Mando episodes with a hint of Boba thrown in one of them, lol. And as Kyle mentioned, the 2nd most interesting thing in this episode was: ...which are more in the Mando universe than Boba. I guess we should just be happy they've nailed the Mando character, which has been great.

You mean the Book of Everyone else but boba Fett. These last two episodes were great though, really shows how uninteresting they made Fett’a story in comparison to the other characters.

I feel the need to say that even though I disagree, I respect this opinion. I think he, Ayo and Ball (who is only 2 years older than Ayo) are gonna make a nasty defensive trio for the Bulls in the future as Zach ages.

I hated the pick and feel like they fell in love with workout vids, so my trust in them as far as Pat goes is zero. It's their one big swing and miss IMO. Those are some nice highlights, but nothing about them screams special to me. One good game on a bad team vs the Nets? How many games was he completely invisible on the court in all of those entitlement minutes? At some point age becomes an excuse. Plenty of kids have shown they have something special at 19. The lack of motor, the timid play, the lack of elite athleticism, the poor handle, the painfully slow needs to be wide open to get it off 3 point shot. None of that says special to me. I'm not saying he can't turn himself into a useful 3 & D PF, but a franchise cornerstone? I just don't see it.

I read what you said. It might have been you didn't think of unintended consequences, but if you shrink the playoffs, the teams that don't make it have a zero chance at winning the World Series. That means only two teams have a chance to win instead of 10, or whatever MLB settles on. Your idea means less chance of the Sox winning a series on an annual basis.

I see nothing wild about the best team in each league representing my preferred league in the WS. I have already stated it would never happen because the playoffs are a moneymaker. I would much rather see the Yankees the same number of times I see the Tigers. Also, it doesn't strike me as particularly fair that the Cubs vs Sox and the Cardinals vs Royals count in the overall standing. In short...the watered-down playoff system has greatly watered down my interest in the WS when the Sox are not in it.

Even though I think the Bears especially needed a Harbaugh to break out of the doldrums, I really, really like Poles and Eberflus. Maybe I like them more just because the response has been really rude. These aren't bizarre out there candidates, they deserve their roles and they hit that spot I've wanted to see was people that aren't assured they know the right plays or schemes, but that they don't know everything and will bring in smart people and play to their strengths behind a general team identity. I hope it works, it's what I've wanted absent a true genius being out there. And I think Patrick Graham may be that eventually, and McDaniels may be that, but I think this is sustainable.

It's better than your idea of the best team in each league just advancing straight to the World Series.

I expect them to sign a big bat. They tried before the lockout but got their doors blown off. I'm hoping they're using this time to reassess the market to better understand exactly how much really good players cost.
