  1. It's like Everyone Poops, except the GM version Everyone Fails! As if that makes it all better. Bottom line, every time Getz fails at another one of these, the timeline for the Sox falls further back.

  2. How do you have 95k posts and you somehow new to a JR ran team?

  3. Omar has self-yeeted himself from the White Sox and declared free agency instead of going back to the minors.

  4. DFA possibly and try to get him to AAA? I’m honestly not sure anyone else claims him, as he’s been that damn bad.

  6. Surely there wouldn't have been 200 posts roasting Getz for a signing like that.

  7. Here's the thing. We keep getting told about how all of these new guys need time to start showing their changes, and that we should start to be seeing their changes. Now all of the sudden during this new leadership, we have a huge spike in major surgeries, six so far, maybe 7 depending on what happens with Perez. It is fair to ask if it is something new that is being done, or taught, that is leading to this mess. Historically the Sox were on the bottom of these numbers under Don Cooper, and with the change to Katz, we moved to the middle. Now with Bannister being added to the mix having a year in the system, the guys he has been teaching are getting THE injury and surgery. Why is that?

  8. I won't be upset if the Sox decide to take a flyer, but man I don't see much in the underlying metrics to feel optimistic. Doubt he's someone you can just plug into the MLB team and assume he'll suddenly pitch well. Probably needs a bigger rethink about his mechanics, repertoire, etc. Not sure if he has any MILB options left.

  9. It's always great when your biggest problems turn into your best excuses. Instead of asking why we are running laps around the baseball in number of major injuries, Getz get to use it to insulate himself from accountability. Instead of asking ourselves why we are running into icebergs, we are just blaming the sinking for the deaths on board.

  10. No one is saying he is a longterm option yet you keep bringing that into discussions about players.

  12. Bonemer was very good in the summer/fall and was considered a top half of the 1st round guy going into the spring. In one of my stupid early mocks I had him going to the Tigers at 1-11. Then he went out and had a terrible spring and I'm not sure why. Maybe he was playing thru something or maybe he made an adjustment and it didn't work. Whatever the reason he was bad but if he's the guy from the summer/fall and not the guy from the spring which is the direction he's trending he's gonna be an absolute steal.

  13. Maton at 1B / DH providing NO value while Elko can play the same positions with POP makes no sense.

  14. If the question is whether Vaughn could have been non-tendered and then re-signed for less this past off season, his current production is irrelevant. There were in fact several teams that got worse production from first base over the past couple years that presumably may have been willing to sign him, were he a free agent several months ago.

  15. Okay you convinced me. I no longer believe the Sox do not have a young mlb ready OFer since I would then have to believe the O's lack of starting pitching is a failure on their part. Thanks for talking sense into me

  16. Unless you know of sprained thumbs turning out to be fatal, Meidroth will return, and will probably produce at the rate he was producing.

  17. Stretch ! Most here were crying about last year because JR mentioned a quick turn around. It was obvious it was going to be the 1st year of a rebuild pretty early to me but apparently not to many others who apparently believed JR as if he's the beacon of truth. But, frankly ,your narrative is about as honest as JRs.

  18. @Timmy U has watched more than I, but Bonemer just looks like he belongs. Unfazed and thriving with a slightly aggressive assignment is huge.

  19. I have not been one clamoring for Elko immediately, but Dalbec over Elko is an interesting one. Neither really cover anything but 1B/DH. Both hit RH. I guess Dalbec could stand at 3B, but he's not going to over the other incumbent 3B options. Dalbec has been solid so far, but he's nearly 30. I guess perhaps Sox feel his 40 man spot will be easier to clear than Elko? That's about the only reason I can see for this decision. Unless Lee is really close and we will start seeing Quero at DH most days he's not catching, then there really aren't At bats for Elko at the moment.

  21. I wonder if a guy like Vaughn got brought back not because of his talent or potential, but because unlike the rest of this roster, he just doesn't get hurt. What are we doing health-wise as an organization?

  25. Liam Hendriks, a great ambassador for baseball and specifically, for people overcoming serious illness, unfortunately looked out of sorts, for lack of a better description. I hope the best for him moving forward no matter what if any baseball he has left in him.

  26. Not to mention their actions didn't actually match that thought. If they were really rebuilding, and knew it would be long term because literally everything about this franchise is decades behind, not trading Luis Robert after his breakout 2023 was negligence.

  27. Love me some Brooks. I can't wait to not have to watch anymore Amaya.

  31. There are a lot of lousy hitters in baseball with their careers hanging by a thread at every position. I suppose when you pick from the bottom of the barrel you factor in things like options the most . Maybe then it's position of weakness or certain skills such as power, speed, defense, positional versatility. Since they are all bums its really easy to pick someone who doesn't perform. Making mountains out of molehills for picking the wrong bum is about the silliest thing ever and is not indicative of much of anything. This is still a rebuild .The pitching has sustained a lot of damage throughout the entire organization . What was thought a strength is all of a sudden a weakness since much of the higher end depth has gone under the knife. Seems like the Sox are paying for Robert's health with the health of every other Outfielder counted on for average production. The losses of games played on the field are not nearly as important to the future of the franchise as are the young players sidelined by injuries . There's a lot less things to follow when the loss of personnel has a trickle down effect on development and wins at nearly every level. Sox may set a record for most bodies used in a season with the way the roster has been churning.

  34. I'd be more interested in seeing the Bobby Dalbec revenge game on Patriot's Day in Fenway than watch any more Maton haha

  36. Especially in this organization.

  37. Hopefully Chase will be back soon. Better to give him the rest needed and IL him than have him be day-to-day. Let's see if Dalbec can keep hitting.

  40. Sox are tied 2nd for youngest roster in MLB. Just DFA'd a 33-year-old and replaced him with a 22-year-old. Three 23-year-olds are almost certainly being called up. Seems like that they're doing just that, and if it was the reverse, the players would be "rushed".

  41. Baltimore fans must be seething at night, knowing they just needed to make some starting pitching moves to kick off a nice little run. Instead, the organization clinched tightly to anyone remotely labeled 'prospect', and here we are.

  42. Very well said. A rebuilding team should be looking towards the future with younger players not retreads, has-been's, injury prone guys and stiffs populating the team.

  43. Did not see it mentioned anywhere here, but according to Sox transactions page, they did bring Juan Carela back in a minors deal. Which is good news.

  44. So, am I supposed to be jealous of Caglianone for the slam, or grateful we passed cuz 1-24? Kinda spilt milk at this point. AA was an aggressive assignment for a guy with his approach issues. KC fell for AZ performance where breakers don’t break. He’s gonna be fascinating, but not really Sox issue.

  45. Perhaps they should let his mommy in the dugout so she can hug Vasil while a real baseball player goes out and pitches in that situation? You are beyond funny. He's a pro ballplayer. You crazies scream for the White Sox to take on every single rookie off the waiver wire and to throw them into the fire, except for the rookies the White Sox actually take off the waiver wire.
    1 point
  46. That is false. An option is used when a player is demoted from the major league roster. Being placed on the IL is not a demotion
