What else am I supposed to do? The Sox season is over so I’m rooting for the Cubs to be failures. Also, and I don’t mean this in a derogatory way or anything, but you don’t live here. It makes it less annoying for you when they are good.5 points

In another awful season, at least not get your ass kicked every game against the Cubs. Yes, that bugs me.5 points

I really don’t think this team needs to acquire yet another 34 year old veteran that should have already retired.4 points

Everyone in the organization should be embarrassed that Palacios was batting 3rd today4 points

I dont understand folks in the fanbase who are okay with horrid, horrid baseball because rebuild. Sox have long been awful at talent evaluation and Getz is a large part of that. Do you think it's Jerry's idea that year after year we run with no closer at all? Then when the team has 30 blown saves we watch them scratch their heads then do the same thing next season. Jerry being a cheap prick? Big reason why they're terrible. Getz constructed an awful roster and spending that little money in awful ways? Also large part of the blame. Not like the minors are bursting at the seams with talent. Our former #1 prospect is batting .174 in aaa and we have approximately 1 potential stud looking offensive player. Getz is a giant, whopping failure.4 points

Reinsdorf is obviously the biggest problem. I am just not going to defend a guy who was head of player development who never developed any talent. Watching someone fail upwards is very frustrating for me. You think Getz is decent at his job with the limitations of having JR as his owner...I just disagree.3 points

Totally. I get that. Blowing off steam is fine I guess just some of it seems over the top. Anyways, yea, f*** the cubs.3 points

There are other gms with no money who have constructed not the worst team in Baseball history.3 points

For 2 seasons, this asshat has been the GM for a team that on most days has no chance to win the game. That is friggin ridiculous in MLB. Alot had to go wrong to lose so many games last season and they are on a worse pace this year.3 points

If you can't handle Sosa being a solidly okay MLB player you're gonna hate this rebuild3 points

They shoulda made the call stand after those fucks ran off the field before the call3 points

Will overall has been a disappointment. Don’t see where he has improved anything on the field.3 points

Probably afraid of running into a brick fucking wall in that shithole of a stadium.3 points

Greg it's one of the oldest parks in mlb now. 35 years is a lifetime with how things are changing. Fenway Wrigley Dodger Stadium the only ones older, maybe Anaheim. So fifth oldest.3 points

Because this is a white Sox discussion board and the only thing to discuss is how awful this team is. What’s so hard to understand about that?2 points

With Vargas taking 3b so decisively, what exactly is Rojas’s role on this team? Having him in the line up instead of Sosa seems kinda insane.2 points

Ignoring? No. The thread was originally about his hitting. But he looks to be as middle of the pack as you can get for Outs Above Average metrics. 17th out of 35 qualified 3B, good for literally 0 outs above average lol.2 points

Actually you have to give credit to U.S. Cellular Company, they gave JR the money. he didn't invest one dime out of his own pocket. January 31, 2003 - U.S. Cellular Company and the White Sox signed an agreement selling the naming rights to Comiskey Park. The deal was worth 68 million dollars and the contract was for 23 years. The money received by the club contained the stipulation that it could only be used on renovations and upgrades for the stadium, not say, for signing free agents. Because of said renovations U.S. Cellular Field became one of the finest looking stadiums in baseball. The Guaranteed Rate company would then secure naming rights in November 2016.2 points

George Wolkow in May: .292/.357/.500 3 HRs I feel like they've been working with some of these guys to establish the strike zone, prioritize contact, and now they're exploring their power.2 points

So what has to be done to make a baseball park not dull? Is Wrigley Field a great park, no, back in the day it was just another ballpark. Same with Fenway, what both ball parks have going for them is that they are old and in neighborhoods with lots of restaurants and bars, those things have never done a thing for me. What makes Dodger Stadium so good? The stadium itself, absolutely nothing. It is in a great setting with the hills in the background but as a ballpark and watching a game it is no better than Rate Field, and guess what, it’s surrounded by parking lots with no restaurants or bars anywhere close to it. Royals Stadium gets pretty good reviews but again it’s no better than Rate Field, again another park surrounded by parking lots and no restaurants or bars nearby. I will say this about our ballpark, when first built it was an ugly monstrosity but much to my chagrin I have to give kudos to JR and company for turning the park into a very nice place to watch a game. Bottom line, if a ballpark is considered dull, that problem could be rectified very easily with a winning team.1 point

Back to legislative action in Springfield. Good luck with that. "The team said it will not request state funding for the stadium itself but has lobbied for legislative support to secure infrastructure certainty around the broader mixed-use district."1 point

The Sox should have served as the model for what happens when you don't seize the day. Now I half expect the Orioles to hire TLR.1 point

Only some kind of miracle could change it. Back in the Go Go years, the Sox were more popular and I think the Sox were more popular in the first 2 decades of the 20th century leading the Majors in attendance more than a few times while winning 2 World Series but of course the franchise took a beating after the Black Sox scandal. When Reinsdorf took over in 1981 the metro area was just about equally divided and the Sox were the first Chicago team to draw 2 million in 1983 and were the darlings of the area. I have always thought that things really started to change when the Cubs came out of nowhere and won the 1984 division while the Sox floundered that year. The Tribune buying the Cubs and Harry Caray moving to the Northside had huge implications along with WGN becoming a Superstation. Meanwhile with one blunder after another by Reinsdorf has seen the fan base shrink and shrink and I have no idea what the last 3 years are doing to it.1 point

Such a little b****. Imagine being the third overall pick and then putting in so little work that you're literally the worst player in MLB 5 years later just coasting on your glory days from college. He didn't even lose his career to drugs or women or booze he just doesn't seem to GAF about baseball. As a fan that's not acceptable. Go the hell away.1 point
