Good lord, dude. It’s hilarious the Sox are better than them. But don’t let me stop you from bringing up Getz whenever you can.7 points

I'm just poking fun at the O's, man. You actually don't have to "counter" every post that doesn't come with explicit criticism of the Sox FO as if it's an endorsement. Reminds me of that old Twitter meme...4 points

Watching Palacios being interviewed. I love him! He's hilarious, and his team spirit is real.4 points

Looks like maybe sending Colson to AZ wasn't the worst thing in the world.3 points

We had 8 walks. We hit for some power and had some 2 out RBIs. Wilson battled as the emergency starter. Defense is a WIP but whatever, another solid game. We are making the Rangers look like teams usually make us look, whooping them at bat to bat. I'll admit that right now the team is better true talent than any point last year, even with Crochet. We've replaced 4-5 smoking craters with average big league players. The staff has done a good job squeezing everything they can out of the rotation so far. If the offense picks it up a bit the bullpen can give up some runs and won't matter as much. Let's hope we can keep showing improvement maybe get to like 30-50 by the end of June, just play a solid stretch of baseball.2 points

almost looked like a major league lineup today, gonna be really exciting when we get the next crop of players up. Colson and Ramos look like they're turning it around even. The sting of them floundering was helped somewhat by Meidroth and Vargas looking like MLB regulars, but what a boon if they can play to their former top 100 prospect potential.2 points

How many balls today did the Sox hit to LF that without the wind would have been homers, I’m thinking 4.2 points

I like Tauchman, he’s a veteran pro and will help the kids.2 points

Meidroth should be a spokesman for Bazooka or whatever gum is in the clubhouse these days.2 points

Chase is probably my favorite player since first few years Robert. He just does s%*# everyday that helps you win.2 points

Yep the Rangers are in a funk but I think the Sox are starting to believe in themselves and coming together as a team.2 points

I'd say I can't imagine what it would be like to be a Ranger fan watching this but I actually know exactly what it's like2 points

I was never off the boat of "you need to give him at least this year."2 points

Still very concerning. We have already seen several nothing to see here moments only to ultimately turn into major surgery. His velo is dipping and his elbow hurts. Something is wrong.2 points

Sheets celebrated with another homeo. We kept the wrong slug(ger).1 point

No idea. Depends mostly on Vargas Sosa Elko and Vaughn himself. Trade window would suggest 1-2 weeks at most to heal thyself.1 point

Honestly, this would be the best time for him to go down with a long term injury. This team is dead for the next few seasons. Hopefully he's absolutely fine.1 point

Getz is going to pick up Seth Brown just dfa'ed by the A's. 32 yo fits the 31-33 year old target range.1 point

Worth pointing out that Lee and Thaiss have experience at other positions so maybe they have more flexibility beyond just catchers.1 point

Elko used it a lot. I'd be getting Luis Robert Jr. using it as much as possible. He needs to get his timing back .Take lots of swing, think center of the field so a little early goes to left center and a little late goes to RCF .Gaps and HRs. Doubles and power.1 point

This team could also get better. The bullpen has blown 8 of 12 save opportunities. That is crazy. It is possible they bring up guys like Pallette, Coffey, Wikelman, and *shudder* Grant Taylor *shudder* and suddenly have a reasonable bullpen. That would change their inability to win one-run games significantly.1 point

Yeah, but last year’s team put up two significant losing streaks that started right about now and the ramped Crochet down, and traded Fedde. Truly an historic season.1 point

Precautionary workload management isn’t the same as unable to perform. I’m sure Crochet was more than able to pitch 5 innings late last year. I don’t know what you expect exactly? He’s going 200 innings this year? Anyways agree to disagree.1 point

Putting someone in place whose effectiveness would be restrained is the definition of pointless. Besides, Getz seems to be good at getting potentially useful returns for our crap, and not taking on future salary, which is the best track to take until there's a new owner. Replacing Grifol may not be as pointless. As more of the older pieces get traded off and more of the young guys come up, we need a manager who can develop them and use them properly.1 point
-
I will continue to repeat: Replacing the GM, manager, or anybody else really is pointless until someone new owns the team. Anybody who would be good at those jobs isn't going to want them, and even if they did, they wouldn't be given the resources to succeed. At the very least Getz isn't giving out bad 3+ year deals that the next guy will be stuck with.1 point
