  1. There’s 10 guys in the minors you could give a shot to over this terrible pitcher.

  2. His career year is literally present day Andrew Benintendi. A decent hitter who can’t play defense and is a 1war or less player. I don’t understand why everyone loves this guy.

  3. 11 game hit streak with Meidroth single.

  4. This is such a dead horse. Not going to explain again why they wouldn't move, but you have nothing to worry about.

  5. Time to stop the losing and get back on track .

  6. Stranger things could happen but this makes the most sense to me. JR isn't getting s#$% from the state and local politicians won't risk their careers giving him money. Maybe if he hadn't already extorted a stadium once before or maybe if the Sox were actually worth a damn on the field since 2007.

  7. lol.. sosa is a career negative WAR player. Exploded to a 0.7 WAR this year. He has a nice swing - but can't play defense and epically shitty plate discipline.

  9. MLB wouldn't approve a Sox move before expansion as it would unnecessarily take a potential expansion market off the board and, despite my criticism of Rate Field, the Sox don't have a serious stadium problem anywhere close to what the A's had in Oakland and the Rays currently have. I also don't expect MLB to expand beyond 32 teams - perhaps in my lifetime. For more than a half century, MLB hasn't moved any teams unless their current stadium situation became totally unacceptable - Olympic Stadium, Oakland Coliseum, and a Rays move is still possible if they don't get a replacement for Tropicana Field approved. This goes back all the way to 1972. It's been the most stable of the 4 major sports leagues in that regard.

  10. He’s a perfect bench bat. He just can’t stay healthy enough to start full-time which is what the cheap White Sox no doubt have planned for him next season

  11. 7 straight appearances giving up runs. Eats up innings was good for a while after acquired but he seems fried. They need to bring someone else up.

  12. 7 straight appearances with runs for Alexander. Release him, for the love of all that is holy.

  17. They’re definitely more depth type guys and basically at their ceilings IMO. As always, would happily be proven wrong.

  19. Burke’s command is just consistently awful

  20. Burke and Cannon just do not have the control needed to be MLB pitchers. It just is what it is man. They've had a lot of chances this year to prove otherwise.

  21. Figured out that tonight is Clemente day so Tauchman instead of the patch went all the way with the #21 uni.

  23. OK, if you isolate and extrapolate the last 28 days instead of the prior time since he came up, OK, you're right and perhaps a cause for concern over time. My own opinion is that he may have gotten a bit pull happy the last few weeks after hitting some long home runs. Then there is the fact that the Sox have little reason to compete whereas some opponents have been all in for the playoffs. I am not anticipating that the Sox put max effort in for the last 2 weeks. Of course they should, but realistically most have been making plans and looking forward to the off-season. Home crowds have diminished so its basically over this season. Don't make too much of it.

  24. Why do you say that like it’s bad that Pritzker wants them to pay for it themselves?

  25. The worst part of the Rosenthal thing is the dirty look he shoots that guy as if that was all his fault

  26. Look, if the White Sox leave Chicago, expansion teams will be fist fighting to take their place ala the Cleveland Browns.

  27. Patelar Tendonitus isn't a big deal unless it's chronic and even then MJ played through it most of his career. There's things he can adjust training wise to get the same benefits muscle wise with less stress on his patella tendons. I'm sure the staff has an adjusted plan for him this offseason. Some guys just don't react well to putting on a lot of mass and it takes time, others take to it easily like Vargas.

  28. Somehow, someway...they may find a way to be worse than last year.

  29. I think the chances of this happening before expansion are basically zero. MLB wants two prime markets available who will build them a publicly-funded new stadium. They won't be eager for the White Sox to take one of those cities off the board like the A's did with Las Vegas. I'm not sure how eager Nashville will be to fork over nearly $1B in taxpayer money for a baseball stadium either as they're spending a fortune on the new Titans stadium. After expansion? Mayyyybe. It depends on how the dust settles after expansion and realignment. I'm still doubtful that Ishbia, who is based in Chicago, will want to move the team out of state. But at that point, MLB wouldn't care because they'll likely have imploded the AL and NL, putting the Sox and Cubs in the same division and "conference" and thus making the Sox presence in the Chicago market seem superfluous. Still a longshot, but at that point, I could see a series of events that maybe leads to their departure - perhaps the city blocks the team from building a privately-funded ballpark at the 78 because of neighborhood objections and some other city ends up getting spurned by MLB in expansion and is ready to make a generous stadium offer. Maybe. But we're a long way from that point. Most likely, if their only option is to stay at the current stadium and they won't or can't turn the area into a thriving "stadium district", then I don't expect them to move the team, but expect another 30 years of stagnant market share and arguing that Sox fans aren't fair weather even though they will only show up to games if they're winning and making deep playoff runs for an extended number of years.

  30. Second time in franchise history the Sox would go winless in Cleveland for a season. They were also winless in 1976.

  31. Great article. 🤣 I especially loved this part… “Are they really going to build a new stadium for these Bears? A better idea would be to build an underground bunker and hide the Bears where we can’t find them.“

  33. So you ignored the full season numbers where he is 2nd in MLB, narrowed it down to a sample size that fit the narrative and declared victory, even tagging me in a separate post to do so. Yeah, sure. Calm down buddy. My analysis is full season > September. The kid made a massive leap from being buried in the minors and on the roster by over the hill utility guys, to one of the Sox leading power hitters. Dude turned himself into the conversation as a playable starter somewhere despite his actual biggest flaw, his glove.

  34. Defense wins games, it's called fundamentals. 24th game the Sox lost when they held the opponent to three runs or less.

  35. There were a couple of us who were the biggest advocates on trading that #1 pick instead of taking Caleb because the Bears still had way too many holes on their team. With that being said, I don't know if Poles would've made the right selections anyways with those picks.

  37. When I was 10, I got hit by a foul ball and, being 10, didn't immediately think to grab the ball. Woman next to me scrambles to get the ball and pushes my dad away when he tries to get it off the ground. She kept telling him that she HAD to have it for her grandkids, because...they telepathically knew she was in the vicinity of a ball? If you've got a ball, give it to a kid.

  41. This is the 23rd time in franchise history the Bears have started 0-2. Never before have they turned an 0-2 start into a playoff season.
