  1. Hitting the ball into the river would be nice.
  2. No, I don't say so, because I have science behind me.
  3. The number of people who died with any link to the vaccines number in the "dozens". About half of those stemmed from the J&J vaccine. This is of the 260-270 million Americans who were vaccinated. I find it weird that the Vaccine Babes who shrug off 8100 people dying from COVID every single day try to play up the 20 or so people who died from blood clots or myocarditis (over the last 6 years) due to the various vaccines - as not being worth the risk. Mass vaccinations were effective. The daily death toll from COVID dropped from a peak of around 8100 daily to somewhere between 1500-2500 daily at the peak of Omicron over the winter of 2021/2022. It wasn't until Paxlovid became accepted as a treatment that the numbers dropped off precipitously to under 100 a day. I get vaccinated twice a year due to my own health issues. COVID does not inspire a strong, lasting immune response, and neither do the various vaccines. However, 6 months out of my last COVID shot, my anti-bodies were as high as somebody who had recently had COVID. Anecdotal, I know, but just throwing that out for info. mRNA technology has been with us over 30 years and has been thoroughly tested. Nobody credible believes mRNA is "failed". And vaguely referring to "the data" detracts from your argument rather than supports. mRNA tech is being used in the development of next generation cancer and rare disease therapies.
  4. Justin Ishbia set to buy massive South Loop rail yard for...The future White Sox owner could take control of a valuable tract of land across the river from where current Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf wants to build a new ballpark.
  5. Now comes the part when a Vaccine Babe just starts making stuff up because they're out of talking points. A vaccine prepares the immune system by introducing a pathogen so your body can learn to recognize and fight it before encountering the real thing. The mRNA vaccines do just that. The twist is they give your DNA an order to temporarily produce a certain protein that coats the coronavirus, it does, then eliminates it. The mRNA order does not alter anybody's DNA, so no, it's not gene therapy. Perhaps that's why you're confused. You've been misinformed for as many as 5 years about this stuff. Can you tell us about this "slightly different process" that mRNA vaccines (that meet the medical definition of "vaccine") must go through? As far as Prescribing Information, full PI on the Pfizer vaccine was available on August 23, 2021, and on January 31, 2022 for the Moderna. Consumers and doctors had all practical information they needed about the vaccines upon release. The EUA's contained all dosing and safety information needed for consumers to make decisions and doctors to administer. The fact that you're making up a purely fictional not-vaccine process of approval tells me that immediate release of PIs wouldn't have mattered to you or others making the same arguments. They're 20-40 page documents that would be meaningless to you. They're not written for laypeople. The side effects and mortality numbers have not been played down. I'm coming to understand that you don't have the capacity to understand what those numbers mean in the grand scheme. You downplay 8100 people dying every single day like that's a joke, while making hay over people having a sore arm and fatigue for a day, like that was a genocide.
  6. LV and Orlando would really test the viability of touristic cities being sustainable for season ticket sales...
  7. Having a ballpark on the river would be amazing
  8. As I looked through the article, I imagined Benetti eating every single option during a White Sox broadcast, much to the anger of Brooks Boyer and Jerry.
  9. West: You just have to realize that apparently cousins shouldn't be allow to marry with the way some of these individuals are reacting and posting bizarre opinions.
  10. What are you even doing? Measles was at elimination in the US, meaning that there were zero new cases in the entire country for 12 month periods, with new cases only being introduced by foreign travelers with no access to the measles vaccine. Now, because of the current anti-vaxx movements, there are outbreaks all over the country. South Carolina enjoys a 1000 case outbreak. This is all easily verifiable. Nobody is making up these numbers. They are real. Because of vaccination programs, Smallpox has been eradicated worldwide. However, closely related diseases, like monkeypox, have reached epidemic proportions in the US due to the elimination of the Smallpox vaccine. But you talk about the dangers of COVID vaccines "hurting more than they have helped". In the current measles outbreaks, they're seeing one death per 300-1000 cases. With the COVID vaccine, they've seen about 1 death per 100 million doses. Again, weird that anti-vaxxers are concerned about deaths that occur at a 1 per 100 million rate, but shrug at a 1 in 300-1000 rate. Why is that? Why do Vaccine Babes minimize death when it comes to a disease ripping through a population, but then scream about the 15 people out of 260 million vaccinated in the US who died due to complications? Is it somehow more noble for thousands to die every day in a pandemic rather than 15 due to mass vaccination? Explain it to me like I'm a 5-year-old infected with measles.
  11. Duh, that's why millions are still dying of preventable diseases and geniuses have brought things like smallpox and measles back to life.
  12. So in summary. -The Sox still want to be in the 78 -If the Sox do go into the 78, this probably becomes the ballpark village concept -If the Sox don't go into the 78, this becomes the ballpark. -The Sox now have two scenarios to leave Bridgeport in. -I almost have to wonder out loud if the Sox could actually landswap with Amtrak to aid in getting something done.
  13. I also thought this was an interesting quote from the Crain's article today
  14. I don’t know about the feasibility of baseball V football, but if football is also feasible there, just another example of how the McCaskeys are a curse on Chicago. Virginia McCaskey got so much slack while being a lousy owner. George is not better. But for some reason ‘the old lady’ got some measure of respect while she sucked balls.
  15. As are the billions and billions of vaccinated people on this planet.
  16. The default will actually change based upon your device or computers settings - so at night will go dark vs stay light during day. You can also go to very bottom left of screen and you will see 3 icons - one of which looks like a moon - that is the dark mode. It has been completely overhauled with this version. There is also an app as well.
  17. Hell they had Robert playing half a season swinging the bat basically one armed his other one was hurt so badly it looked like.
  18. Let’s be honest — the Mets are managing his injury-prone ass way better than the Sox ever did. Robert could still very well get injured, but I recall the Sox having Robert active and in the lineup when he wasn’t even healthy yet and simply told him to jog the bases rather than run full speed. He was clearly still hobbled. And it’s not like the Sox learned anything from that situation. Remember last season when Tauchman was obviously not ready yet and he reinjured himself running the bases at a snail’s pace? So they played the same stupid injury game with both their franchise player and an old vet on a one year deal. The Sox are historically dumb as hell when it comes to this.
  19. Yep, he even included it in his infamous “He better stay outta White Sox business” tirade about the best player in franchise history.
  20. Fedde won't last past Memorial Day.
  21. Tampa Bay hasn't supported a team, Miami hasn't supported a team. Why move them to another Florida location where they won't be supported?
  22. Perhaps busy mapping out the circuitous route the dump trucks will have to take to haul away all the toxic waste to build Private Equity Field. Then he'll come here and have a meltdown over this latest news.
  23. I was finally able to read the full paywalled article - seems like this is at least being considered
  24. So far, I think only AJP and Hahn are making some side cash by spilling the old beans. You have to wonder when Kenny will jump into the game.
  25. You must be trolling, because by now, if you don't understand that the mRNA vaccines, by the time they were distributed, were not "experimental", you're just didn't pay attention to the actual facts. Trump issued executive orders that allowed drug companies to take short cuts in the processes of bringing these to market. When a drug is being developed, it's submitted for testing. Those results are compiled and a report is written. The company then waits for approval to move on to the next step. The short cuts consisted of allowing the developing companies to start the next step while they waited for approval. Just an overlap. All vaccines that were available for the first round of inoculation were as thoroughly tested as any other drug that comes to market. The main glitch in the initial release was that in rare cases, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine caused blood clots that needed to be treated differently. This was the single dose shot. About 5 people died, their vaccine was pulled, and J&J rewrote procedures for dealing with blood clots due to their product for emergency rooms. A few of the other deaths were due to myocarditis, or people just ignoring the allergy restrictions. Nobody's offended you didn't want to be administered the vaccine. People are countering your assertion that the Constitution somehow says people don't have to do what they don't want to because of freedom, or something. The government has the right to issue vaccine mandates to protect the public health. This has been upheld by the Supreme Court multiple times.
  26. Has @tray weighed in on this yet? Silt bed quality, enough room for plenty of parking, ingress and egress options, etc.?
  27. This is what happens when we let people think that just because they have an opinion, that it is a valid and equal one.
  28. "All that said, mapping out a future home of the White Sox may be premature. Shore Capital hasn't announced a ballpark as part of its initial plans. So far, Shore issued a statement to Crain's saying that the firm is exploring a "potential healthcare facility and medical innovation hub" with Northwestern Medicine, whose board Ishbia sits on." Based on this quote I don't see much reason to get excited yet. They're not going to put a baseball park AND the above on that plot.
  29. can we get a discord server at some point?
  30. 1) He didn't "invent" the technology. He was involved in early experiments that proved mRNA information could be delivered into cells using lipid fats. 2) His claims about the vaccines (which he had nothing to do with developing, beyond being involved in early experiments of mRNA tech) are refuted by the scientific and medical communities. He offers no evidence for his claims, either. 3) Malone's erroneous claims about vaccines have nothing to do with greater mRNA tech, as you claim. 4) A guy making unsubstantiated claims in area he has no expertise or experience in is not credible. Again, you're not even offering an argument. It's all "Food Babe" nonsense: Misinterpretation or misrepresentation of actual scientific findings or misreading of the Constitution. I'm sure you're readying that old saw about the entire Earth conspiring to perpetuate some sort of lie. I'm just disappointed that you're exposing yourself as so unknowledgeable for nothing but the sport of obstinance. At least Food Babe hawks a supplement line she allegedly makes money from. I get it. You don't like being told what to do. But the Constitution laughs at your claims it protects you from the requirements of participating in society.
  31. The Amtrak land could be an aesthetically better site for a ballpark. The view of downtown is more aligned with left-center field, rather than down the third base line. They might even be able to design it so that home runs to right field land in the river.
  32. 1 point
Injured players could not rehabilitate at team facilities. Players would be free to sign and play in international leagues during a lockout.
  33. The "agreement" is just a vehicle to avoid taxes. It isn't going to stop anything from going forward.
  34. I wonder if he would build the ballpark there or leave the park in the 78 and build the "village" and parking in the land he just bought. I wish JR would just give him total control right now under the premise of can't waste 4 or 5 years. JR should understand that.
  35. A then-friend told me he was certain the vaccine was gonna turn people into straight up zombies. Like, classic movie zombies. We're not friends anymore cause he went fucking crazy after buying into that conspiracy theory. But suffice to say, he was wrong.
  36. Much better. Please let me make a Sox suite of themes. Can base them on the home and away uniforms for light and dark mode… and have a throwback 83 option as well as a City Connect option too. Would take me just a few hours I suspect.
  37. No White House invite for either team lol at least Harper came up with a big moment to make it exciting...dull middle innings in this one
  38. You've basically dropped below The Food Babe in credibility.
  39. They’ll go significantly overslot at 41. It’s overwhelmingly likely to be a prep player with that strategy.
  40. Thanks Jason for everything you do and still do over the years for this (your) site.
  41. Naive is thinking your feelings are more important than the lives of others.
  42. Full credit here, there is no man more responsible for the downfall of the White Sox than Jerry Reinsdorf. He's the one who forced Kenny to choose between a competitive roster or the future. He's the one who pushed back as Rick tried to expand analytics. He's the one who forced TLR instead of a real current and successful manager. He's the one who let Kenny float in space after refusing to let him leave for a huge promotion. He's the one who refused Machado and/or Harper. He's the one who preferred a marionette to a GM search. He's the one not able to read the room on a new stadium. He's the one making seem like a huge accomplishment to add a 40 million dollar contract this winter. He's the reason even if Chris Getz is a boy genius as claimed, Jerry will find another way to cock block and destroy, just like all of the other GMs and AGms he has fucked in 40 years. He's the reason for Hawk Harrelson as a GM. He's the reason for Dan Evans, Schumer, Himes, and Hemond. I could keep going, but everyone knows who the problem is.
  43. Every god damn thread turns into the same thing.
