  1. Got a lot of key hits tonight. Kay did excellent to go 6+, pen did enough. Defense did enough. Offense did enough. This series Sox def looked like the better overall team. More dangerous at bats.
  2. I’ve been giving it some thought, and I’m really starting to buy that it’s way better to take 5 of 7 from the Royals than lose every game to them for two years.

I hope he pitches the Oppor-site of how he's been pitching lately. Know what I'm sayin? (I'll see myself out)
  4. The only picks that can be traded are: 30. Royals, 31. DBacks, 32. Cardinals, 34. Pirates, 37. Rockies, 69. Tigers, 70. Reds, 71. Marlins, 73. A's and 74 Twins. Quero is super young with options. DFA talk is nuts.
  5. Did you fill out your Chris Getz apology form yet? I don't recall seeing yours caulfield.
  6. Also got a kick out of these on a KCR blog yesterday:
  7. In defense of Acuna, or of playing Acuna, I think he's the only backup infielder on the team. He allows Venable to mix and match Peters, Grichuk, Kelenec, Hill and Acuna in RF and CF. The Sox always got into trouble when they'd have one of those and dub them the starter. Those guys are role players (I guess Peters could be more). If not Acuna, it would be a utility infielder. The clogger, of course, is our .603 OPS designated hitter. That is getting ridiculous. Bring up Gonzales. I guess they don't want to expose him - but not much is lost by exposing him as he doesn't have much value anyway. And there could be a good gain. And he could be the backup infielder.
  8. I like your theories and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter
  9. Winner Winner over .500 tasty dinner !

    Wolkow warming up? 5-11 with 2 2B, 1 HR, 1 BB, 3K in his last 3
  11. I say stand pat. The additions to this roster will be Kyle Teel in a week or two, then Braden Montgomery around the All Star break. Let's live and die with that until the off season when the priority should be pitching. I'd like to see signing some of the current players to contracts buying out their arbitration years if possible, but that won't even be considered until after a new CBA.
  12. Good gracious, people want an old team again. Buying has a 0% success rate. Emulate the Brewers, the Rays. Do not emulate Rick Hahn.
  13. Keith Law has posted his top 100. We are two months out. Will post the top 15, including the notes on White Sox relevant players. Will also share some writeups/rankings of players we've talked about with the White Sox, and some players that interest me if they make it to 41. Some thoughts as well. Keith Law seems much higher on Becker than others. Has him 6th versus 33rd at BA. Similar situation with Tyler Bell who he even has in front of Grady. He has Lombard all the way down at 17. Fearful of that hit tool. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7271408/2026/05/14/mlb-draft-2026-top-100-prospects-roch-cholowsky/
  14. The most correct answer (imo) to the question at hand is also the most boring answer: TBD.
  15. Look, I don’t argue with you anymore because it’s a cul de sac, but yes things have changed in the last 25 years. Just because similar things happen doesn’t make everything 1:1 like you try to make it in every argument you start
  16. My take of “Chris Getz just had a really shitty leader in Rick Hahn” is more alive than ever!
  17. Buyers to achieve what? To just qualify for the post season and then lose in the first series like the last time? Because this team isn't going to go all the way to the World Series as much as we would all love that. If this rebuild is genuine they shouldn't try to run this season just because the AL Central is so weak and potentially harm the longer term development of the team.
  18. Horrible is letting a terrible umpire like Jen Pawol dictate the outcome of a game. She’s like this behind the plate, and there are obviously other umps just as bad as her…

For the love of god just jettison Beni already.
  20. youre way too obsessed with the attendance
  21. Speaking of doesn't need much time in AAA. Montgomery 3 hits tonight.
  22. Grichuk last season in 43 games as a Royal: 5 RBI Grichuk this season in 1 game against the Royals: 4 RBI
  23. Without coping I'd say next Friday the 22nd or the following Monday the 25th when they start a new homestand is most realistic. But I yearn to see him hitting a bomb over Piss Crack Asswipes head. I guess I can wait til they go to Wrigley in August
  24. We are about to see a 10/10 the next 3 days.
  25. Venable did this a week ago when the Sox had a chance to be .500 and move into 1st place and had a 5 game win streak on the line. I wasn't pleased but it was a stay the course move but it's also ignored a current hot streak , killed momentum and resulted in a 3 game losing skid. If the same thing happens losing the next series against the Cubs or being swept would kill a lot of the excitement going on just like last week but luckily they snapped out of it quickly. Might not like it now but it wont look so bad once Teel is back and Montgomery up. Quero is long past righting the ship . He will be sent down.Acuna may be gone.Benintendi has very little rope left. I hate it and it sucks but I understand it. Playing the long game because its a long season and bench guys have been contributing.
  26. Do not absolutely require All Stars at every position to win (i.e., the '05 WSox with Rowand, Iguchi, Pods, Crede, Uribe) . They have enough Star players and complimentary players to win right now. Players like Antonacci, Peters, Hill, Meidroth and Romo round out and compliment a line-up with bigger names. Add Hagen Smith and maybe another arm for the rotation, a Closer and possibly Braden if he is ready. and this team should compete for the Division.
  27. Lol, one of the comments on here: "Man, it really is emo night."
  28. The B team lineup. Feels weird to say that about a White Sox team.
  29. The development window of this team at the MLB level is closing. There are still going to be guys who come up and need to adjust to the league and whatnot, but the team as a whole is past that stage. They're starting to take the next step to being a competitive team on a daily basis, and there's no time or room at this point to let someone "figure it out". If Acuna wants to prove he can be a viable everyday player then he needs to start showing that when he gets playing time.
  30. Yea, they traded a bunch of prospects for Trevor Rogers and Shane Baz (2025 #1, comp pick + for this guy). Yuck. I can't think of any team that became great buying at the deadline. The Cubs may be the best example, but they were a mature team 1 piece away and they bought it. That trade for Kimbrel - where would the Sox be had the Cubs chosen Crochet instead of Madrigal Can't force anything.
  31. I went to my 1st game last night with my son in about 3 years. It was cold but I really enjoyed watching this team play. They are trying to bring my fandom back that Jerry stole.
  32. It's a precarious position. Making the playoffs no matter what your record ,is a big deal. It generates revenue and for JR extra revenue is the only way he'll spend money. A good rest of the season will boost attendance and perhaps sponsors . You can't just ignore the business of baseball. Playoffs means being on national TV and more exposure for products and the White Sox as a global product. If you want the Sox to grow as a franchise and have more money to spend then you should want to make the playoff. You can't win a World Series without being in the playoffs. In the past the Sox have had circumstances with good records that fell just short of the playoffs. It would be nice for a change for circumstances that allow the team to be in the hunt to be a champion. It's not like these opportunities come along very often. What that means for the TDL is more complicated. Getz has not shown any inclination to trade top prospects. Thats depth. You need depth. But if they are in a strong position at the TDL do you really want to trade away the guys who have brought some stability to your pen like Dominguez or Hudson ? Your position in the upcoming draft is very strong. You might say ,just this once, that you play the hand you were dealt. Stay the course and see where it goes. No trades to just try to get marginally better that may hurt the course you have already set. There's is a trade you can make if you can find a taker for an advanced CF prospect in a prospect for prospect trade. That's the good thing about stockpiling SS prospects .In order to get a primary position prospect you usually have to give one up. I honestly don't know who's out there that fits as a CF for the near the future but I'd like BMonty to be in RF asap but Im guessing he may see quite a bit of time in CF once he's up. Who knows ,with Teel coming back and a strong whiff of Braden Montgomery that the Sox might smell a whole lot better and be approaching 90 wins at the end of the season.
  33. Stay the course, don't do anything rash, try to build a healthy organization set up for sustained winning for a change. Just enjoy the surprisingly compelling baseball while keeping an eye on the minors. We may be ahead of schedule - that's way more excitement than I expected out of this season.
  34. Sox win or lose we still have West Eddy spinning the records.
  35. I think the fact that Roch is constantly #1 on every list whereas #2 keeps rotating is the best argument for him.
  36. If Getz wants to go full crazy: Mike Trout
  37. Said I'd start 'em up again if and when it happened. Here we are. Keep it going!
  38. While I think the GWRBI is a meaningless statistic, I can understand awarding the guy who knocked in clutch runs that took the lead, and not guys who produced in garbage time that a shaky bullpen eventually turned into meaningful runs.
  39. Among other nice things about the game, it was good to see Tyler Davis with an effective bounceback game.
  40. “It was a different regime, but this strategy is similar to how the Giants landed their current team president Buster Posey in the 2008 draft.“ Yeah, it was also completely different draft rules.
  41. I honestly really like the challenge system. It adds a whole new dynamic to watching games in person when that slow reveal hits the Jumbotron.
  42. Bring back pitchers hitting!
  43. This is a big boomer take.
  44. Wouldn't give up real future assets for a run this season. Would trade Dominguez (if he has any value). They should do whatever builds on this momentum.
