  1. Sometimes I think you are just too optimistic for your own good. A real Ted Lasso.
  2. Your first place Chicago White Sox are 38-32! First series win vs. LAD since 2014. First series loss for LA since May 8-10 vs. ATL. The White Sox are the only team with a series W vs. both LAD and ATL this season, and they did it without Mune or Teel. 24 home wins is tied for the MLB lead (Rays). They have won 8 straight home series. I liked Venable's creativity with the staff today given the off day tomorrow.
  3. Dominguez makes Alex Colome look like Mariano Rivera. Colome at least threw strikes lol.
  4. The South side has stood up.
  5. He drew it up at the Old Country Buffet.
  6. Trevor Bauer is an awful clubhouse fit even if you believe him innocent of any criminal wrongdoing. I also don’t understand why anyone would think a 35 year old pitching in the Nippon League or wherever he is will come back to the MLB and be really good. Not trying to be a dick, but just a bad idea all around.
  7. 8 straight home series wins for 1st time since 2003 !
  8. They have a closer (Taylor). They need a couple of setup men.
  9. Back in 1st place and Ramirez will be out at least a month. Just get through the yankees and then dominate this division.
  10. If Sox hold on to win this game, we all may need to stop and consider that CWS going to the game yesterday directly caused the loss.
  11. Going to be so fucking awesome when that happens.
  12. This is the right approach…be aggressive, but not stupid. Also, for reference, here is how much team control we have beyond this season for our existing positional group: 1: M. Murakami (1B) 2: none 3: M. Vargas (3B) 4: B. Baldwin (UT) 5: C.Montgomery (SS) | C. Meidroth (2B) | K. Teel (CA) | E. Quero (CA) | T. Peters | E. Pereira (OF 6: B. Montgomery (OF) | S. Antonacci (LF/IF) | J. Gonzalez (IF) And this doesn’t include Bonemer and whomever we take at the 1.01, who have strong chances of being part of this core. That is a fuckton of positional talent and most is controllable for a long time. Outside of extending Murakami and possibly Vargas, we can commit our financial & prospect resources toward the pitching staff. As I mentioned previously, I wouldn’t give up any of our top 5 prospects, but pretty much anyone else I’d be willing to consider trading. Again, be aggressive, but just not stupid.
  13. Awesome Law piece on Jacob Gonzalez and the hitting development with Fuller. Now if only our pitching development could take a step forward like this. How the White Sox’s Jacob Gonzalez went from first-round bust to potential star
  14. There are still people that think Bauer would succeed if he was allowed back? Oh boy.
  15. Peter's blast was a morale booster for a team that has already shown that it has a never say die attitude. Never, never surrender an at-bat for any reason including handing a pitcher a no-hitter. Give Peters credit. That at-bat took some gorliones. He squared up a 99 mph fastball and deposited it in the seats. Boom ba-boom boom boom, cancel the post-game show and see them on Sunday.
  16. was out and about for most of this one, gonna enjoy the condensed game for sure
  17. I saw the line up was out.
  18. Tooing your own horn sounds like something our old friend McGuire would do
  19. Teel and Schultz heading out on rehab assignments for those not watching the postgame show.
  20. The White Sox are The BEAST ! 666 6 runs on 6 hits in the 6th inning !!
  21. Dodgers must be a bit frustrated....outside of 2 big innings, they really shut down the Sox all series. Tough break for them...I just feel awful for that poor squad. 4-1 against the Braves and Dodgers....what a week!!!!!
  22. 5-3 against PHI, ATL, LAD! (Without Mune and Teel) Cya for round 2 at the end of October Dodgers.
  23. Every ball they have hit hard the last two days has been right at someone.
  24. People freaking out about what Benintendi getting $18 million. The Dodger are paying Kyle Tucker $60 million year and his offensive stats are not as good as Beni's. It's sunk cost, the Dodger might as well DFA Tucker.
  25. Man, this type of pessimism is a drag. Once at home, I expected them to win every game of the Atlanta series. I thought we'd beat the Dodger Friday and fully expected them to win yesterday; and you know what, I absolutely expect them to win today, even more now with Hudson as a starter. Fedde has had two very good games in row. But pitching a righty against the Dodgers is tough . . . almost as tough as pitching a righty against the White Sox. Let's go Sox and beat this $400 million dollar machine.
  26. Nice to see no Sunday lineup but god damnit give me Mune and Teel.
  27. Robert discourse aside, posted that because second or third time we've seen the sentiment that Sox won't be dealing top prospects in any potential trades.
  28. Trade for Skubal. I have run the analysis and fatter pitchers over perform after age 29 because everyone thinks they will fall apart; but they have big boy strength. I’ve never been that scared of packages given out for .5 season, news of “franchise altering packages” are dumb. It will be fine. When work stoppage ends, Jerry will celebrate his only joy in life - crushing the mlbpa - with a big signing à la Albert belle and we will re sign skubal who will be a Sox legend for next decade.
  29. Lol Bauer had a 4.5 ERA in japan last year. Nothing about him says he would shove in the MLB. He would get destroyed. I've also never heard of a player as disliked as Bauer in the baseball world. He wasn't welcomed back because so many players couldn't stand having him around. Francona protected and defended him for years and Bauer even lost Terry by the end.
  30. McDougal threw a side session today, went well. Shane Smith back throwing and "progressing well." Wiki is in AZ. Set to throw in 2 games this week and then progress from there.
  31. Let's take the series! Predicting both Montgomery's (Montomgeri?) with a bomb today.
  32. Yup - LET’S GO BOYS, TIME TO BRING HOME A SERIES WIN AGAIN!!!!
  33. This has to be the most ridiculous hard flex I have ever seen in my time on this site. Kyle Tucker has put up 13.6 fWAR over the past three seasons with a 147 wRC+ over that period. Meanwhile, your boy Andrew has been worth -0.3 fWAR (yes, negative value) with a 94 wRC+ (yes, below league average). That’s cool they are hitting about the same this season…there is reason to believe Tucker will get better while Andrew won’t. And if Benintendi doesn’t get significantly better, he’ll remain a replacement or negative value player who offers no zero roster flexibility and is paid a meaningful amount of money. Hopefully Andrew can stay hot and prove me wrong, but weird player to rally around on like this.
  34. Great article. I don’t always agree with Law when it comes to pitching, but his track record on positional prospects is amongst the best I’ve seen. If he’s a believer in Gonzalez, then I think we should all start getting excited.
  35. Sorry was drunk because of the World Cup lol. My bar has a beer passport and wanted to be culturally responsible
  36. As a totally biased Sox fan I could never cheer for the Sox to get no hit or a perfect game thrown at them. That doesn't make me right and someone cheering for the perfect game wrong.
  37. I'll root for it against anyone but my team, make history somewhere else lol Also getting no hit on Colson's bobblehead day would have felt like especially bad juju.
  38. I find it odd that there seems to be a good amount of posters who didn’t want to see a perfect game tonight. I mean, I’m not upset at all that it didn’t happen but it would have been cool. If it’s only a few outs away I don’t care what teams are playing, I’m rooting for history and especially would enjoy sharing that moment with my son.
