  1. Ozzie calling on the post game that today sealed the deal with Mune signing an extension with the Sox. Cited how his teammates, the fans, and the organization treats him and his family got a front row seat to see it as well.
  2. TIME TO STOP THE FUCKING BLEEDING AND BEAT THE LIVING s%*# OUT OF THESE c***S! LET‘S GO BOYS AND GIRLS!!!! TIME TO MAN UP AND GET BACK ON THE WHOOPIN ASS TRAIN!
  3. The Colson meatballs are out in full force I see.
  4. just gave my 19yo cat a bath, he has bad arthritis and spondylosis so he can't bathe himself properly anymore, which is odd because he contorted himself around to scratch the s%*# out of me just fine
  5. Two bad games and Parkman has arisen from the dead. And they want to white flag it while we sit 1.5 games up in 1st place admist the weakest AL in years. I am actually embarrassed to be a Sox fan with all these Panicans.
  6. According to Bob, the Sox are telling teams they won't trade any of their top 10 prospects, but will assume money. It seems to be a reasonable stavce.
  7. They should buy when it makes sense. May that be controllable assets or rentals that are reasonable and don’t require prospect capital. Just because they started this home stand with two losses, that absolutely changes nothing when it comes to the deadline approach. Your poll is too black and white - this situation is much more nuanced.
  8. Great win to avoid the sweep. Mentality monsters.
  9. At least Quero gave us one of the best moments of the year so far.
  10. On top of that, Friday night's game was disappointing because Martin was looking solid going into the 6th up 5-0 and suddenly hit a wall, the bullpen which had been very good lately completely crashed out that game...Sox could easily have won 2/3 vs Houston, but that's baseball. Sox team and fans feeling much better after today.
  11. Sox lead AL in RS at 501. Incredible.
  12. Boys and girls… we are BACK IN BUSINESS! ( Where’s the panicians now???? )
  13. If you give up a hit to Romo you should be kicked out of the league.
  14. Obviously if the right deal is on the table to improve the team now and in the future with a controllable player Getz should do that. But for the most part I don’t want him being aggressive with dealing any of our top prospects. We’re only like 75% done this rebuild, don’t rush it just because some are getting overexcited with our unexpected early success. I think this team is 3/4 key players away from being true WS contenders. Just stabilize the pitching staff enough to give the kids a legit shot to get experience in the playoffs would be the route I’d go. A rental SP and RP without giving up any top prospects.
  15. We were 4th place in baseball in HRs prior to the All Star game with 129. We are dead last since the All Star with just two HRs. That trend ends today and we are officially moving out of the cellar. I am predicting a whopping four bombs for us. Murakami, the Montgomery brothers, & Benintendi. Those four guys are all going deep today…book it. If I’m wrong, @ron883 has agreed to a self ban that will stay in place until this exact outcome is achieved. We thank you for your courage and potential sacrifice.
  16. Here come the Panicans. Tra la la, tra la la.
  17. Ryan Burrowes to AA. I think that means Roch to A+
  18. He did OK for what was asked of him. Nice to have some depth.
  19. See everyone at the parade!!
  20. 3 points
Billy Carlson with a ground rule double into the right field corner.
  21. Great game!!! Stop pinch hitting for Antonacci.
  22. Good things tend to happen when you hit five home runs in a game. 😄
  23. I thought you needed to be ahead by 10 runs to use a position player.
  24. Turns out all we needed was to play a day game at home to start hitting homers again.
  25. Minimum 15 runs to only feel slightly nervous
  26. Wow…couldn’t even toot my own horn before Murakami got us to five!
  27. They have to be settled this week (teams get six months from the trade, unless that's changed)
  28. If Mune and Vargas are waking up we will be fine.
  29. It's a bigger slap in the face to be perpetually middling because you keep sacrificing future success for the present day. Sox and Bulls fans should know this feeling well that the path to success isn't found by going all in too early. That's the path to being the Anaheim Angels.
  30. I'm not sure what people expect from him. He is doing exactly what he should be doing. Keeps them in the game for the most part every 5th day.
  31. 3 points
    Just hit his 12th
  32. Good barsuonng by Romo. A little surprising he knew how to get to third.
  33. If you walk Romo you should have to immediately leave the game and be demoted to AAA for a week.
  34. Is there another Colson in our org that I'm unaware of?
  35. Hey, when was the last time Soxtalk got upset about losing 2 in a row this late in the season?
  36. An identical thread was posted 2 weeks ago after getting swept by the Red Sox. (on their way to a historic 15 game winning streak) Since then the Sox are 7-4 (.636). 4-4 since the break, despite a serious slump in power from a team that was hovering near the top of the league in HR's. As was pointed out, the Sox are the only team yet to lose more than 3 in a row. People need to stop getting their panties in a bunch for 2 or 3 L's.
  37. Would love to see a decisive win today. Sounds like it's gonna be a hot one! Got to see Friday night's game in person. Although I can sure do without that traffic, it was really fun to experience the roar of the crowd in person (when good things happened)! A number of my family members were also there to support my great-nephew Sam. He managed a nice single, a stolen base, a hit-by-pitch, and a gapper double. It was unfortunate that the Astros managed to post an 8-spot in the 6th, but you'll have that. I commented on the nice crowd size, and the powerful roar it was capable of producing, and my son (who arranged our outing) recalled being at Sam's debut game back in mid-April, describing the crowd that day as so small that it was "like being at a high school game." So fun to see things trend in a good direction! Grateful for this brand new day! GO SOX!!!
  38. Assuming the Top 10 doesn't include the draft guys, it's one thing to not trade Bonemer or Carlson, it's another to hold onto Lodise or Mogollon.
  39. The trades will likely be in the works or done before the Yankees and Rays series is complete. For people who still aren't believers, we are the only team in baseball to avoid a four game losing streak. That suggests longevity.
  40. Definitely don’t do any research and instead suggest panic trading your only two good SPs who happen to be controllable. And even worse, we have an entire positional core in place and you want to waste that by nuking our pitching staff. Make it make sense people.
  41. It's really a hard decision that Getz has to make. What happens the rest of the week against the Yankees and Rays will probably decide the situation. If they play well that would show they can stay with arguably the two best teams in the league, if they get beat up, lose say six of seven, that would probably tell Getz a lot as well. In that case I'd agree with you, no sense trading some of your better prospects in the vain hope of making a deep run in the post season, assuming you claimed a spot in the first place. Getz is going to earn his money with this call.
  42. They should and I almost guarantee they will. To what extent, we shall see. To suggest selling when you’re in first place is insane though. Are we White Flag fans or White Sox fans?
  43. Even if they were able to take on money, I think they should neither buy nor sell, but stand pat. That being said, I have no idea how many years of control they have on Martin/Burke, so if it's 2.5 or less then maybe they should sell them. Being around 1st place is a pleasant surprise, but nobody expects the Sox to win the pennant and they don't have the horses to do so, even as buyers.
