  1. Well considering that Covid is so easy to get over and is less impactful than the flu to the anti-vax crowd. How about this. Let's just have them sign a waiver. If you get covid and need emergency procedures to save your life, you get a lovely flower arrangement and get sent home. Take all of the dewormer you want, take all of the other nonsense witch doctor shit that is being peddled. My wife had to wait 24 hours last week to get admitted to a hospital for something serious because of the mouth breathers and their 3rd-grade version of science. I don't need family members dying because the ER is filled with morons who go oh, yeah I can't breathe. Well, this isn't what I signed up for. I am a strong republican. The anti-vaxxers can all go fuck themselves. Maybe we can have Polio come back because the human body's defense systems are so good. We are at a point in evolution where we can do amazing things to save lives due to science. But the human condition is the one aspect that will even that out.

  2. Rodon is the one I’m worried about. Gio has all but said his IL stint is just about rest and I don’t think Lynn’s injury is that serious. But Rodon saying his shoulder “doesn’t feel right” — after coming back from what seemed like a “rest” already — scares me a bit.

  6. It would be huge to not have a top shelf Rodon in the post season.

  7. Giolito's injury was from slipping and not a stress injury so I'm not worried about him. Cease is not showing signs of fatigue and Lynn should be better after his current break. The only one I'm really worried about is Rodon.

  8. Man not at all. I know I’ve been overdoing it all year about “not worrying”, but really, I’m still pumping that train. We simply have more talent than the other rosters we will face in the AL playoffs. Now that can be obviously be exposed in a short series because of luck/chance but there isn’t an AL team I would trade pitching staffs with. Enjoy the Houston steamroll brother.

  9. If these 4 are healthy, I feel good about the ALDS. Presuming of course that the offense can produce any consistent run support.

  10. FWIW, Lynn is 3-6 with a 4.92 career ERA at Minute Maid park. He’s 2-1 against the Astros in his home parks, with an ERA that looks to be around 1.75

  12. I'm counting on the Rays to fall apart in the 1st round....call it a hunch and a hope....hey dont step on my positivity Balta...I'm trying something new.

  13. And saying that there’s no reason to worry because the division lead is huge and you have absolute confidence that they will flip the switch on once it gets to October after 3 months of treading water and winding up with the #3 seed seems equally silly.

  14. That is a good point! For all the hemming and hawing over supposed struggles against bad teams, the Sox only have a losing record against NYY and HOU amongst the "good" teams. (SEA too, but they're not making the playoffs). Splitting the season series w/ the Rays was good and we will see what happens with Boston.

  15. The 2001 Mariners won 116 games and lost in the first round.

  16. I mean, we’re 38-27 vs the division and 41-31 vs everyone else. We’re not a mirage of a weak division.

  17. It’s quite accurate. But, I’ll roll with it…Tell me about what happened after that 7 game winning streak? The point is the same. To claim, with absolute conviction, that the season is done and they won’t win one game in the playoffs is hyperbolic and silly.

  18. I don't know why people don't get this. There just aren't that many good baseball players out there.

  19. If the Sox released Garcia, Goodwin, and Sheets tomorrow, they'd be picked up in a matter of hours. Who would you have liked them to sign this past offseason? Who would you like them to sign this coming offseason for depth? They're missing their borderline GG RF, their mvp SS, and 40% of their pitching staff + 20% of it sucks. This kind of stuff happens, dude. They're 22 over with this "crappy" depth.

  21. Early data says the booster is incredible…I will be getting mine when they say to do so…but I know moderna needed to go back and get some data cleaned up that will delay their boosters…but early results in Israel have been extremely promising…as in 4 or 5 times stronger than the original vac (which was already amazing).

  22. I’ve never seen a team have more issues with players coming off the IL only to have the same issue pop up again

  23. But let's hear more about a long term Rodon deal.

  24. I'm not really sure where this is coming from. I'm not a fan of his recent performances but everything I have heard from the clubhouse is that he is one of the leaders and has a played a huge part in helping the younger pitchers like Cease and Kopech. Also, just from his interactions with the media, he'll be the first one to acknowledge that he's sucked and he'll be honest about it. If people can cite examples of him being an asshole or something that would be great. Because this is kind of the opposite impression of what I have gotten from him.
