  1. Reinsdorf has never paid anyone $100 million, the going market for TA will be over $200 million. Yes, he will not finish his career a Sox. Breaking news. ?
  2. Career .673 OPS, he'd fit right in.
  3. A 6th starter is too much a luxury right now with all the glaring holes on offense.
  4. I wouldn't hold my breathe on that. Not for $17-$18 million He sucked surrounded by perhaps the 2nd best lineup in the game, Look at Pollock, remove him from LA and put him in our trash ass lineup and the guy was very mediocre.
  5. LOL, what? Because they signed a .650 OPS strikeout machine?
  6. This is what they call "green light to spend what he needs to turn the team around" ???
  7. They have 1/3 of the Sox payroll.
  8. 2 words : Player Development. It's what has haunt this organization since Reinsdorf took over. The trades were 100% the right moves. And even the half ass free agency work to supplement talent has been OK. Not great, but OK. But it's those second tier accessory prospects that have doomed this team. Too have not found one single guy to contribute from the list of : Adolfo, Basabe, Gonzalez, Rutherford, Walker (traded but sucks), Burdi, Hansen, Stiever, Collins, Madrigal (traded but sucks) By finding zero contribution from that mid tier is how you end up with a payroll at $180 million full of s%*#. Over-paying for relievers. Trading for washed up corner OFs like Pollock. And most likely ending up with more washed up over-paid garbage like Gallo/Bellinger this offseason.
  9. I really don't trust Hahn and Co scouting and trading for young players. Nor is there player development in place to finish those young pieces. I can't believe Hahn was allowed to keep this job in the first place.
  10. More power to Rodon if he's able to get that kind of deal. He's averaged about 100 innings for the 8 seasons he's participated in.
  11. Now? In their history of existence, I have not understood them. Yet they have two championships vs our one during that time. Just a weird organization.
  12. I don't even think they RSVP for this one. Which at least they are being realistic for a change.
  13. Just in time for Ryan Poles to trade him for a stiff WR
  14. Which means there is always room to push the payroll needle, for the right guy of course.
  15. Imagine that. Very well run organizations who contend every year for the past decade wanted out best player in free agency. Shocker.
  16. Lucas Giolito performed close to "non tender" level this past season. I'd much rather his big rotation $ go to someone else.
  17. I'd like to explore dumping Giolito for prospects and saving that arbitration $$$ there. If I can spin his $12 million to $9 million going towards Quintana, that's a win. Plus it breaks up the RH rotation.
  18. I feel the complete opposite.
  19. Gallo is not coming cheaper than Conforto or Bellinger. Those two will get 1 year deals to re-establish value. Gallo is getting at least a 3 year deal form someone.
  20. And you know 100% this insurance policy will be used.

Rather than their usual patchwork, I'd prefer "let the kids play", literally. Sosa at 2B and Colas in RF. Eloy to LF (unfortunately). Burger/Sheets/Grandal at DH. Sign Kiermaier as the #4 defensive replacement OF.
  22. Yeah, I think Northbrook called her out for her BS.
  23. Or that he was very very high on the list of reasons why this team didn't win last season?
