    To a great poster and a great mod. Now he's just a little extra "super"
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Garland: Bad: Outings where he's surrendered more than 4 ER = 4 Outings where he's surrendered 10 or more hits = 3 Outings where he's issued 3 or more walks = 2 Outings where he's surrendered 3 or more HRs = 2 Good: Outings where he's held the oppenent to 2 ERs or less = 13 Outings where he's held the opponent to 0 ERs =3 Outings where he's held the opponent to 4 or less hits = 5 Outings where he's issued 1 walk or less to the opponent = 15 Outings where he has managed to not walk a single batter = 3 Buehrle: Bad: Outings where he's surrendered more than 4 ER = 3 Outings where he's surrendered 10 or more hits = 3 Outings where he's issued 3 or more walks = 3 Outings where he's surrendered 3 or more HRs = 1 Good Outings where he's held the oppenent to 2 ERs or less = 13 Outings where he's held the opponent to 0 ERs = 6 Outings where he's held the opponent to 4 or less hits = 4 Outings where he's issued 1 walk or less to the opponent = 15 Outings where he has managed to not walk a single batter = 7 The fact of the matter is, even as dominate as Garland has been this year, Buehrle has been even better. Garland may have 3 more wins however Buehrle IMO as of August 7th is the AL Cy Young. Great analysis. Right now I'm tied between the two of them, but Buehrle has been awesome and I'd agree he's pitched better this year. I just hope they both get a big gold world series ring on opening day next year
  3. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) Dolgin pointed out the similarity between this and the ad where Rowand meets the devil. Right when Rowand got knocked out, I immediately thought of that commercial.
  4. Best Sox game I ever saw was the one this year against the Dodgers where they came back and AJ hit the walk off homer of Yhancy. A close 2nd is a game I saw in 1999 or 2000 when the Sox came from behind to beat Percival and the Angels in Anaheim. I was going absolutely crazy and ended up being one of the background people on the ESPN telecast (it was a Sunday night game and a couple of my friends said they could specifically hear me cheering on the Sox). Best game I ever attended was a game at Dodger stadium where Dennis Martinez threw a perfect game. A close 2nd was the no hitter I saw Mark Langston and Mike Witt combine on in Anaheim.
  5. Happened last spring. It was a totally fluke incident (Mario and I were at the game and saw it happen). The reporters that day were slow coming up with all these weird stories, but his daughter was ok, which is all that matters.

    QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Had splits of .315/.388/.500 in July and splits of .300/.417/.750 (3HR in 20AB) so far this month. Is finally hitting over .200 against lefties, but still has an OPS of just under .800 against them. His BA/RISP has also increased to .250 now which is 11th for qualified AL 1B out of 15 (Justin Morneau is last with .226 BTW). He'll get $10M from somebody this off-season, is that going to be us though? Teams that I can see making a run at Paulie are of course the Yankees, Mets, Blue Jays and Giants. I still think he'll finish the season between .275 and .280 and will resign with the White Sox. I've been laughing all year at all the people bashing him and quite frankly I'm convinced he's going to have some huge hits in the post-season for the Sox.

    Welcome aboard
  8. Crede has always been one of my favs. He's played rock solid this year and has came up with numerous clutch hits. Joe...YESSSSS
  9. Way to go Sox. Big Jon was dynomite today. That was an error he made (shouldn't of even fielded the play, it was tougher than DJ and Hawk made them think) but aside from that he was absolutely perfect today. Fun game to watch.
  10. QUOTE(BaMoFo @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) I've heard so much about Iowa, Are they really that good? Hawkeyes
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) Chris Young is gonna be good.
  12. Sweet stuff Bham.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) If you scrape off all that burning, you got a tasty piece of toast.

    QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) This is my stance also. Hell.. half the time we don't even make people pay for the tickets we don't use and give away. :headshake Were the same way. I think it would be a little different if we gave the tickets to a friend and had them give us money, cause in a sense then they are there tix. But when we do it, we'll call them up and ask if they want to go (never make them pay...hell most of the time we don't go it goes to clients anyway so its thing to offer).

    QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) I had them demoted... Baaahaaaahaaaahaaaaa.....
  16. Chisoxfn replied to Steff's topic in SLaM
    I'd of been pissed. When we give our season tickets to clients and such we do it with the expectation that they are going to use them. Otherwise, we'd sell them on our own (and we did that for the Yanks series a few weeks ago...made some nice cash). Still if someone gives me tickets, I'm not going to sell them, especially for a profit.
  17. QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) Is THAT how that happens? Then he also musta hung around a bunch of really fat people....
  18. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) I would still keep Daze, when healthy the man is a force and now with a year off, he should be healthy. I hope he's healthy. I always remember hearing about how much potential and ability Daze had. He always came off as a tough player to me and seemed to be productive when on the ice (in the few games I saw and I'm a total novice when it comes to Hockey).
  19. Very sad news. Thoughts go out to his family and I hope one day Jim and his organization can help cure the disease.
  20. I wonder if they could package JT and Daze for a center (don't know if Daze has much value cause of his back) and than sign Kariya.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) Not too fimiliar with him, his numebrs are not that of a 1st liners, which line would he be playing on? 4th liner. He's replacing Nichols who become a UFA. Everyone over on BHZ says its a good upgrade (not a major move, but he's better than Nichols who was the previous 4th line center).
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) Thanks guys I got a real treat last night, I got to feel the baby kick for the first time last night. She is now exactly 6 months in and 3 months to go based on our due date.
  23. Notice how much skinnier AJ was back than. Damn I didn't realize how much bigger he's gotten.
  24. Just saw the thing on Kariya over at BHZ as well. Hawks signed center Jim Dowd today as well. http://www.blackhawkzone.com/news/08050503.php
