How many of those guys do you trust in high leverage spots in important games? That bullpen doesn’t do much for me.

Santos has posted videos of him throwing on Instagram this offseason so it doesn’t seem like whatever injury he had at the end of the season is that serious.

Why hasn’t the idea of including Gregory Santos with Cease been talked about more? Especially if they are trading with Baltimore? I know they already signed Kimbrel but he’s not making up for the loss of Bautista. Santos can help with that. And perhaps the Orioles would be more willing to give up talent if Santos was included.

What about a Kjerstad/Westburg/Povich package? That would allow the O’s to keep Cowser and then Ortiz can slot in for Westburg. Meanwhile the Sox would get a right fielder, 2nd baseman, and pitching prospect.

No it’s not. If they aren’t going to pay Burnes then they aren’t going to pay Cease either. If they were a legit World Series contender at this moment it would make sense to do an all-in move like trading for Cease but they are not.

Why would they want Cease? Next year he will be in the same situation as Burnes is right now for them. I don’t see them giving up prospects for that.

I still feel like he will be an Oriole when it’s all said and done.

That contract leads me to believe there will be issues with his physical because that is way cheaper than many anticipated.

Same can be said for the Orioles yet you’ve spent the past 100 pages insisting that Baltimore won’t trade certain guys for Cease when nobody knows if that’s true or not.

So the Orioles were at the forefront of these conversations all offseason and yet “were always a nonfactor”? Yeah I don’t buy that.
