“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
I'm told the Bears are meeting with the Indiana officials on January 6. I would think if Indiana comes up with the money package the Bears are looking for and Illinois doesn't, the Bears will go to Indiana. The latest thing I've heard is the Bears should try to purchase Soldier Field from the Park District , knock it down and build the dome stadium at the site. I think we're going to find out soon what the Bears are going to do. They want to start building the new stadium in 2026.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
If Indiana offers the Bears a better deal (Lower taxes and infrastructure) and Illinois doesn't the Bears will move to Indiana. The KC Chiefs are on the verge of moving to the State of Kansas. The annoucement is expected next week. Better deals usually have the teams moving.

When the United Center was built with private money the government spent money on the infrastructure around it.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
I hope you're right. I hope Getz signs somebody who can actually help the team.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
I just wonder if Getz has actually tried to sign some decent free agent and those free agents have declined to come here simply because they don't want to be playing for the White Sox.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
I 've been hoping that Getz would improve the team this off season. It certainly doesn't look like that is going to happen. If anything I'm expecting Robert Jr to be moved for next to nothing. The Robert Jr move will simply be a salary dump. I hope I'm wrong.

Pete Alonso signs with BAL 5/$155M
Could the Mets owner start going with lower payrolls? Its hard to believe he couldn't afford Alonso and Diaz.
-
Pete Fairbanks?
I just hope they sign somebody or trade for somebody who makes the team better. This losing every year is lousy.

White Sox sign Anthony Kay to 2Y/12M deal
A couple more moves like this should put the team in 2026 Playoff contention!!!!

White Sox tender Derek Hill, non-tender Cam Booser, Tim Elko, & Mike Tauchman
I can't understand why the owners would lock out the players. The players union is never going to agree to a salary cap so what would be the purpose of a lock out?

$$$$$$Money
1) Somebody posted that if JR sold the team now the taxes would be about $550 million dollars. Does anybody know what the taxes would be if he passed away? Would it be alot less than $550 million dollars? 2) The Milwaukee Brewers drew 2.6 million fans in 2025. I read where their projected 2026 payroll is $136 million. They indicate that they might not be making any money with that projected payroll. Is that possible? Its hard to believe they wouldn't be making money.

ZIPS projection story...
Brodie Brazil has a very interesting new video on Youtube. He maintains the White Sox are a sleeping giant of a franchise.

MLB new media deals...
The Yankees claim they are losing money. They want to lower their payroll. Does anybody believe that the Yankees are losing money?

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Th e west end of Rosemont is empty and big enough for a new stadium. Its near the tollway, expressway and the CTA Blue Line. AND most importantly the Mayor of Rosemont is a White Sox fan. He was willing to build a stadium for the Cubs. I would guess he would welcome the White Sox with open arms. I have to admit that most of the White Sox fan base is not close to Rosemont but keep in mind that JR wanted to build a stadium in Addison/Dupage County which wasn't close to the fan base either.

Rosemont would be the only suburb where a new stadium would do well.

Josh Naylor re-signs with SEA for 5 years
I've read where the White Sox are interested in signing some hitter from Japan. They think it will cost $64 million/4 years to sign him.

I wonder if the White Sox even tried to sign Naylor.

You're probably right. I find it odd that nobody in the Chicago media has interviewed the new owner.

Old Reliable Bruce Levine says Sox interested in 1B/DH Ryan O'Hearn, had trade talks about Robert
You would have to overpay to get Naylor here. I would do that. And after I did that I'm sure JR would fire me.

You have to spend money to make money. If JR had giving me the GM job interview and had the good sense to hire me as the new GM, I would try to sign Naylor. If JR didn't approve of the signing I would resign the GM job. Signing Naylor would solve some of the problems the team has. Naylor is young and a good left handed hitter.

Josh Naylor would be a much better signing.
