February 4, 20215 yr Lucroy's defense will probably keep him slightly above replacement level as a backup. He's a nice bar for Collins to clear to earn the backup catcher role. This type of signing was definitely needed.

Whatever happens...with all the young players some vets around them are helpful. Catchers make good managers because they are field managers during their playing days.
