  • I know it's a day game after a night game, but I hate TLR's decision to go with Potash over Van Schouwen here......it's short sighted nonsense.  I'm sure he will say it is to keep Daryl fresh for the

  • I initially read that second sentence as Mendick and Leury, so I took it as Leury was covering the Sox for the Sun-Times and it was like, man, his super-sub role is going WAY too far.

OK, maybe you want McGuire to catch Lambert and Jose gets a "1/2 day off" at DH, but then why Sheets over Yaz at 1B?

Interested to see whether the wind will blow in or out today.

Either way I think we see two Burger home runs, one hitting the Piping Plover in RF.

Tim and Robert the best 1-2 punch in the game; the rest of the guys don't even matter.

Yeah our lineup is otherworldly fun when they are healthy.

I mean I can understand this one with no off days coming up. Yaz even running the bases as a DH probably wears his legs out.

Injuries: Moncada, Pollock, Eloy.  Full day off for Harrison (back issues) ,1/2 day off Abreu. Our depth is better than last year. Our backup catcher is much better defensively. Sheets we get from the start of the year.  Our backup OF ,Engel, is healthier atm. Burger, at this time last year, wasn't even on peoples minds to play in MLB. This is how you manage when there are injuries.

This is a solid lineup. It's time for Lambert to prove he belongs up here!

Way better team than last year.

Yaz has caught 1 game since Saturday.

True but the issue is the schedule moving forward. No off days for a minute.

I wailed and gnashed my teeth all off-season about getting a #2 catcher to little avail until we got McGuire (that's his name right?) If he can he a batter, he looks like the real deal.

Day game after night game I'm guessing.

My meatball take for the day is if these guys keep winning, I don't mind TLR mixing things up and keeping guys fresh. As others have already mentioned, from an offensive side, this team is in fact pretty deep and they should take advantage of that by keeping guys active and in the lineup, which should help in the dog days of August.

Vaughn being a platoon player is dumb as hell but I think he's going to hit well enough that TLR will be forced to make him an everyday guy...but other than that, I don't mind the different lineups every day...to a point.

He’s in the lineup against a righty today in the 5 hole.

I think it’s less he’s a platoon bat and more, Tony’s trying to get everyone in the lineup early on which he’s always done.

Another game for Rake Burger.

Even though I really like him, there really isn't a spot on the Sox for him other than as a bench player and I hope he raises his trade value enough that the Sox can use him as a centerpiece for a pitcher.

Battle of the Berts

Having McGuire is like found money. Between him and Yaz that's quite the receiving duo.

Not much they can do when half the team is hurt.

I'm shocked they won the first two against Seattle.

Should have played Tue then. McGuire starting 3/4 games in a row is silly.

Grandal isn’t exactly locked in at the plate. No problem resting him today.

After last year my opinion is not "oh no grandal is not catching enough games in april".
