Steinbrenner field hosts.

Thought that the start time was weird compared to past games in Tampa but then remembered its outdoors. They probably need to start that late (7:35) since it would be so hot otherwise.

It’s because of the afternoon showers, someone figured that most of  the time they move out around 7ish. Funny thing here in Port Charlotte, we haven’t had a drop of rain the last 4 days, very unusual here in Florida during rainy season.

I’ll be there tonight, trying not to fall over from the heat. It’s hot out here.

Real feel right now in Port Charlotte is 109, don’t ever remember being that high, actual temp is 95.

Super glad I can't watch this one legally because of MLB blackout rules, but I get it. I'm a quick 3.5 hour trip from Tampa after all.

Here in NC I am blacked out from the Braves (5 hours from me), Nationals (6 hours), Orioles (6.5 hours), and Cincinnati (7 hours). It's such a dumb system.

Might be my favorite lineup all year.. Only think is I would rather have Quero in for Benintindi

Yeah, not a bad lineup.  Would like to see the following post trade deadline:

  1. Meidroth, SS
  2. Teel, C/DH*
  3. Vargas, 1B
  4. Benintendi, LF*
  5. Sosa, 2B
  6. Montgomery, 3B*
  7. Quero, DH/CA
  8. Robertson, RF*
  9. Baldwin, CF#

They really seem to want Sosa at 2B. He's below average there but maybe they think he can improve. It's my best guess.

If he doesn’t work there, he doesn’t really work anywhere.  Dude gets the most of his natural raw power, but he does not profile as a legit 1B / DH in my opinion.

There's also about 8 teams in playoff contention for whom Sosa would be a definite offensive upgrade at 2nd, if that's a thing being bandied about.

Yeah they've gotta do something since it seems like Chase is the guy at 2B (covering SS to get Sosa in the lineup). Could always listen to offers and if they don't move him, maybe see if he can learn LF.

Whoa, Teel AND Quero in the lineup at the same time? Now you're just being ridiculous.

I do agree that we should wait and see how they handle playing time after the deadline before assuming too much.  I like Sosa despite his flaws, but there is reason to believe he doesn’t fit the Getz mold and Harold’s commentary seems to support that.  As such, they could be showcasing him a bit to prove he can handle 2B without being a total disaster there.

lol…it’s definitely what I would do as I don’t really care about the 1/1000 chance our starting catcher goes down with an injury and we lose our DH for a game.

Haha I think once guys are moved (every day and bench players), we'll see Sabol up serving as the 3rd catcher, getting both Q and Teel in the lineup every day.

Yeah well its definitely what the Sox should be doing too but they aren't. Hopefully we see that more here in the next week or so.

We’re down for a week at Disney, but I gotta catch the Sox if I’m only an hour away.

Maybe to showcase for trade value?
