Watch more baseball in the Sox organization. You wont be disappointed. Base running I don't think is even coached. I watched Zavala kill a rally last week.2 points

And with that HR, TA qualifies with PAs and is sitting tied with Lamaheiu at .331! 431 PAs needed to qualify after tonight and Timmy just had his 432nd.2 points

When was the last time you seen someone in this organization that knew how to run the bases?1 point

With as many times as Moncada has been screwed in his career with borderline pitches, it's nice to see one go his way.1 point

Jimenez about to pass McCann on the OPS charts... How many times in the last, oh, say decade...has everyone written how easy it is to find "acceptable" hitters at the corner outfield spots, 1B and DH. The White Sox, other than Jose Abreu, have spent a decade whiffing at this seemingly simplest task of all. In an era when every hitter's putting up 25-35 homers, that's inexcusable. Pitching, well...everyone knows how much volatility there is in that area, at least in terms of bullpens. Yet we choose the one reliever who anyone who followed the Royals from 2014-17 could have told you wasn't the same pitcher. He was broken, just like Carl Edwards, Jr.1 point

That's disgusting and proves without a shadow of a doubt Avi woulda been great in RF this year. He's making something like 2.5 mill or 3 mill a year for gosh sakes.1 point

I really don't care if Nova gives up 9 HRs in a row. Just need the guys to hit well.1 point

I'm still trying to figure out how he didn't score on Tim's sure double.1 point

When the defense is terrible every year with different players on the roster, the coaching has to come into play1 point

I think Acuna and Soto ruined expectations for a lot of young players regarding fans.1 point

I have to say I will never get tired of Jack Parkman musings about life. I don't agree with most, if any, of them, but they are always entertaining.1 point

The next day a left fielders arm is the make or break from winning and losing will be the first in baseball history. It is already a historically weak defensive position and a LF'ers arm may mean less than anything else on a baseball field defensively. Manny Ramirez and Carlos Lee spent a decade ++ in LF - I'm pretty sure Eloy playing left with a very good defensive CF'er like Robert will mean very little. You're overreacting. Bad fielders have been in LF since the invention of the game and Eloy is far from the worst of the bunch.1 point

Same. Really don't like the fit at all unless its a short term deal and Sox somehow find a lefty masher elsewhere.1 point

Roethlisberger had 16. Mayfield had 14 (in 14 games). I'm not sure what Rodgers has to do with this, since I 1) never mentioned him and 2) I don't think he's the measuring stick for "pay him or don't pay him." If he was, no one would be getting paid besides him and Brady.1 point

Soto is a very different hitter than Eloy. Saying a player has been disappointing because he wasn't as good as arguably one of the 3 greatest performances by a 20 year old in MLb history is reaching imo.1 point
-
I think that's unfair. 775 OPS and 24 HR's in 2/3 of a season as a 22 year old is a nice start to me. The interesting part of his stats comes when you look at his day/night, later innings, men on base, type numbers. He hits better in primetime situations. Unfortunately most(all) of the Sox season hasn't been in contention. He also doesn't exactly have a stacked roster around him. Add another legit option in the lineup around him and start being in contention, and I think he will be the most impactful bat in the lineup.1 point
-
He's on pace to hit 38 Homers over 160 games. The average isn't there yet and his k-rate has spiked but he's missed time. He could have been better but I think his future is rather clear and in no way did his ceiling or expectations take a step back this year based on his performance imo. That's why I would say his season has been fine and showed what we wanted it to show. He's 22 years old. He had just turned 22 when the season started.1 point

The expectations for Eloy were so unrealistically high anything short of an MVP season would have been considered a disappointment.1 point

This is maybe a WELL ACTUALLY, but maybe important if eventually you press charges--what you're describing is larceny/theft. Robbery refers to taking something directly from someone's person by force or intimidation.1 point

Because he'll need those 2 weeks in the minors to prove that he's ready for the big leagues.1 point

That was Eloy's 4th multi HR game of the season tying the team record shared by Jose Abreu and Zeke Bonura .1 point

If anybody was serious about Gordon, it shows the insanity of message boards. Think how old he is in a world we now think of 32 as old. Think how little production he gives. Same message board with a lotta people hating on Jose Abreu and somebody wants elder Alex Gordon who provides nothing with the bat?1 point

I mean they have competed with some WS contenders this year...Minnesota at times, cleveland at times, Yankees, didn't they win the season series against Houston?1 point

A lot of them are, yes. Sort of regretted how I phrased that. But doesn't change the fact that he gets to balls other SS wouldn't even dream of.1 point

I bought Charlotte Knights playoff game tickets for September 4th. We are sitting 2nd row behind the Knight's dugout. I'm very excited to see Robert and Madrigal up close.1 point

Anderson’s offensive numbers this year (and presumably the next few years) would have set the table for a very nice payday through the arbitration process. Instead, he’s paid a mere $21M over the next 3 seasons and then the team has control for 2 more seasons beyond that at a reasonable cost of $12.5M and $14M. Just fantastic.1 point

I can see why you have trouble keeping a job. That is far too much supervision needed for most jobs to maintain any type of high level of production. Sounds like you need a factory or warehouse job where everything is on a movement and production schedule.1 point
