  1. Yeah, we’re going to land at least one

  3. Alright, so now that we’re all back on the two whale bandwagon, what would your lineup look like if we landed both of them? Here’s mine: Moncada, 2B Machado, 3B Harper, RF Abreu, DH Jimenez, LF Alonso, 1B Castillo, C Jay, CF Anderson, SS

  5. If the White Sox sign both whales, I'll upload a video of me eating a hat.

  6. Appreciate the kind words ss2k. Both times. Tbh, part of my hesitation in not sharing more detailed info is because it’s not really mine to share. It feels very lame even writing someone else’s information as your own. But as I said earlier, I believe what some folks, who would have every reason to know, have told me, and at times, I come here and interject that. Im sorry it comes off as me being a know-it-all or having some air of importance, that’s not my intention. Just sharing what I believe to be true based on what people shared with me for the possible benefit of the group. I’m piecing this stuff together just like everyone else here.

  8. What? The reality that the only reason that either player is even considering the Sox is because their desired teams aren't even close on dollars? The Padres are in a similar position to the Sox and if you're being objective about it, have the greatest collection of young talent in baseball. Add in San Diego's climate, and it is easy to see why they're a more desirable location for those guys than the Sox. The Yankees are the Yankees, and no matter what is said publicly you can never count them out. Out of all of the suitors, the Sox are probably the least desirable location. Philly has closer proximity to winning and a young budding ace on their staff, and San Diego has nice weather and more talent. If you don't put on the silver and black goggles, it is easy to see why the Sox haven't signed one of them yet, and aren't likely to in the future. Most posters here are thinking with their heart, and not their brain.

  9. I’m not sure adding two superstars in their primes “saddles” them. The franchise is in Chicago, not Miami. If they were to get both below market, build up television ratings, season ticket sales, and reach the postseason consistently, would that devalue the franchise? Do we believe it would be difficult to move these players in 3-4 years with 4-5 years on their deals?

  10. Preller out gm-ed by Theo giving up Rizzo Theo out gm-ed by Hahn giving up Eloy and Cease Hahn out gm-ed by Preller giving up Tatis Jr its circular. Everyone sucks sometimes. Stop crying about it, the guy already said he fucked up. He knows edit: it wasn't preller losing Rizzo, but he has his own long list of head scratching moves as well. He even got the nickname Prellerpalooza

  11. They have money, your point is a good one. I think it would take a better offer than we’re willing to offer, and I just don’t see that happening unless it starts to approach something close to Harper’s range. I don’t think it’s possible the Sox don’t walk away with at least one guy unless they grossly misplay their hand.

  12. Shack is legit IMO. I’ve said it before but dude is of high character and well connected to many people with sources.

  13. hasn't shack already been defended once here for having some knowledge of things? i don't see why we attack everyone who contributes - even if what they heard is misleading or untrue. We post absurd twitter rumors all day - might as well let him say his piece without being shot donwn.

  15. The White Sox had TOP FIVE payrolls in baseball. What are you talking about Jack? 2013 - 8th 2012 - 10th 2011 - 5th 2010 - 7th 2009 - 12th 2008 - 5th 2007 - 5th 2006 - 4th How can you even compare these two teams? One team has been in the top 10, 6 of the last 12 years. The other team has never been in the top half of the league.

  16. I think that's about the worst approach he could have.

  17. They have Hosmer, Myers' deal blowing up next year, $25 million to pay riff raff who are on other teams, all the money they spent over the caps on Lat Am talent, 10% of their money going to paying down debt and stadium renovations (something we most assuredly don't have to deal with.) If they somehow beat the White Sox offer, we might as well just fold up the franchise, because clearly being last in t.v. ratings for the product they've produced the last six years is not bad enough. Even if they were to make the playoffs, they're not going to get the fans 100% behind them without at least one superstar on the team.

  24. What is ironic? That the Padres averaged payrolls around 25th in baseball for 15 years and the Sox were about 8th over a 10 year period. What's ironic is people think those things are similar because ONE year in 15 the Padres spent 30ish million less than the sox.

  25. I really don’t get the panic about the fucking Padres, there is little doubt IMO Lozano is using the media to inflate their interest.

  28. Hate to be that guy but that j Michael Robertson and mlbinsider already broke the news that San Diego met with machado and made a good push. Which is now coming out. All of the reports are stating they “met” so they weren’t exactly wrong. Just a thought

  30. Lozano would be stupid to not make it sound like the Padres are seriously interested. This is most likely another one of his tactics to get the Sox to up their offer.

  33. Shack has already said he follows the news very closely and he knows some people who share information with him because he has developed a relationship with them due to his fanhood and his obsession with Sox news ha. I respect that and believe it - don't see why the guy would lie. Nothing to gain from it.
