  1. Nobody is going to read this. Go away.
  2. People complaining about the team aren't necessarily "miserable". It doesn't take much to make a post chastising a player for messing up. Doesn't mean watching the game pains them. Fans still want to see Yoan, Eloy, etc. Playing forum police and hounding people who make negative posts is equally if not more annoying. Ignore people if the negativity bothers you so much.
  3. Now I know you aren't legit.
  4. Want an honest answer? You don't get the whole picture from me. I don't post "YOAN!!!!!!!!" when he hits a two run homer. I'm pumped, of course, but that comes out in real life. However, I can't turn to my wife or kids and say "Yolmer Sanchez fucking sucks" so that comes out here. This website provides a release. It's cathartic. It's therapy. Just the view of one pessimist.
  5. it sure the hell has been boring and depressing being a fan of this team over the last 10 years, to be honest. Seeing such a horrible, inexcusable offseason playing out on the field should make everyone livid. Watching Palka have to play RF and screw over the pitchers just because Hahn acquired Alonso is the perfect illustration of why Hahn should be a first-ballot inductee into the Hall of Shame.
  6. The Friends of Manny trio can go anytime now, and I don't think anyone would be upset.
  7. Nah, you see, he allowed a hit and a walk today, so not only will he suck this year, but he sucked last year as well.
  8. Might be time to end the Jones experiment. His body failed him his entire career, and I think there has just been too much damage for him to be what he once was.
  9. Your false sense of superiority over everyone is also pretty funny.
  10. I've never understood why this is considered a Kenny Williams thing. Every single team in baseball drafts multi-sport athletes. It's what scouts look for. I guess it gets hung on him because the Sox player development department is god awful and can't turn them into good players. Seems kinda silly when everyone in baseball is drafting the same players.
  11. 2 points
He’s 23 and just entering his second full season in MLB. Give him some time.
  12. Fans have no confidence in RR at this point in his tenure.
  13. 2 shitty at bats 2 9th innings in a row for Yolmer...time to change his name back to Carlos...the Yolmer magic is gone
  14. This is a pretty depressing franchise.
  15. Jace Fry was one of the best relievers in baseball last year. 12.3 K/9, 6.5 H/9, 0/7 HR/9.
  16. Merrifield is 30 dude. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/merriwh01.shtml
  17. Thought the bullpen was going to be a strength? These guys blow
  18. Burr looked a hell of a lot like Nate Jones there
  19. For god’s sake can we stop using Fangraphs as the end all be all and use some critical thinking. It’s 35 degrees and we’ve seen subpar velocity games in the past from Lopez in similar conditions. There is absolutely zero reason to panic that he suddenly lost the velocity on fastball.
  20. I'm reminded of the weird velocity fluctuations Lopez had at the beginning of the season last year:
  21. Hey now, the bulls seem to do fine consistently firing coaches while keeping blame on them.
  22. Seems to work fine for the astros ?‍♂️ How is stay tall as a philosophy working for us?
  23. You don't go all out in the first. People here need to stop with the velo shit
  24. CWS is an absolute stud of a poster that we are lucky to have at ST.
  25. Yeah but if he can’t bring you down, how’s he going to feel good about himself?
  26. Wait didn't I say that it did not look good from that conversation? When everyone else was saying it was going to happen?
  27. this might be the earliest I lose interest in a White Sox season. And there have been high levels of Suck throughout my lifetime.
  28. It’s called having an old school pitching coach that doesn’t believe in spin rate and strikeouts. Organization desperately needs wholesale changes if this year goes awful in terms of development.
  29. Granted he wasn't a signing....
  30. Awful at bats. So how’s 2020 draft looking
  31. He's not a bad player, I like Alonso but we have a DH playing RF because Alonso was brought here to recruit Manny. That's my beef.
  32. You know you can be a good pitcher and not throw 95+ right? It isn't all about velocity. Lopez is not good in the cold weather but I have seen him 95 and 96 today
  33. I don't care if there's a bunch of placeholders on the team but shitty defense and lack of fundamentals is crock shit.
  34. Quit making ecueses Steve. That plai is made in high school every day.
  35. DH would have been fine. It’s more Yonder has no business being on this team.
  36. This Mondesi kid on KC looks pretty legit. They have some nice building blocks with him, Merrifield, and Keller.
  37. One person complained! Better make a post about it!!
  38. Glad to see it. End Sarris had an article on how Lopez should cut way down on his fastball usage.
  39. Jakob Junis. Future trivia answer.
  40. Can't wait to see Eloy again. Hope he is more settled down today. So I was in the fedex store this morning and I'm wearing my Sox jacket. The employee says, hey I'm a Sox fan too. And then he starts going off about how he can't believe they blew the Machado thing. I was like oh dude, don't get me started again. At least I know it's not just me still pissed off about it. Oh well, go Sox today! Let's get the first win!
  41. Cease has elite stuff no doubt. Don’t forget about Dane Dunning. That dude will fight tooth and nail for his spot even if he may be overlooked due to bigger names and his injury. He may be the most complete pitcher even if he doesn’t have the upside of Kopech/Cease.
  42. Cease has a chance to be a #2 maybe even #1 Kopech-Cease-Lopez-Rodon is a pretty good 1-4 if everyone pans out.
  43. ????? Beltre is probably the best all around 3B of all time. He didn't hit as many HR or win as many Gold Gloves as Mike Schmidt, but Beltre was a much better hitter. 477 HR and 3K hits 5 GG. His resume speaks for itself. IIRC Beltre is 2nd all time in HR by a 3B, behind only Schmidt.
  44. International bonus money is capped and that is kind of why a lot of people are mad. This guy just popped up this year (no one knew he was going to be available), and the Sox are willing to give him $2.5mm which means they still have that amount unallocated even though they have had two years in the penalty box to line up deals with better guys for this coming J2 period. So basically being rumored to be offering this guy $2.5mm means that we have only spent $2.5mm on other prospects even though most of the agreements have already taken place. This seems to line up with the fact that we aren't connected to any of the prospects on the top international amateur lists from any of the different sources.
  45. Maybe just peruse this for 15 seconds. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/beltrad01.shtml
  46. You sure do love protecting a horribly incompetent front office.
