  3. Time for Hahn to go all "moneyball" and just DFA Nick Williams and Jake Lamb. "Sorry, Tony, you can't start those guys tonight....they're no longer on the team"

  4. Frankly it's tiresome to hear stuff like this that 100% glosses over all the reasons people are concerned, and there are a lot of them. I get it. But blanket statements don't help. And we've seen this song and dance before. "Just give it time!" Been hearing the same shit for over a decade.

  7. We don't like you looking at a face down card and calling it a spade. The lack of minors experience means Vaughn hasn't proven to the fans that he can hit, but between college, spring, and Schaumburg last year he clearly proved to the White Sox talent evaluators that he can hit. So yeah, call it "pedigree" if you want but scouting does in fact earn someone an opportunity. Scouts aren't always right, but neither are AAA stats. Not to mention, Nick Williams has a long track record proving he can't hit. His defense is serviceable, at best, and since the start of 2018 he has a slash line against RHP (his platoon strong side!) of .236/304/405. That is an OPS of .709 and a wRC+ of 91. Nick Williams has been a negative war player every single year since his rookie season. He sucks. With how weak this lineup is right now, I am playing Vaughn every day until the minor leagues start so we can get a good look at him. If Vaughn also sucks, fine send him down. But you can't give him 2 games a week and ask him to "prove it." Just ask Zack Collins

  8. Getting on base 40% of the time is stupid and doesn't justify playing? Well that's quite the take.

  9. Andrew Vaughn has a .400 OBP and Nick Williams should never be playing instead of him.

  11. Lighten up, Francis. “Fan” is short for “fanatic,” and we are on an internet message board for the most ardent White Sox fans. The baseball decisions have been atrocious, and we fans have a right to be angry. Live with it. I’m angry too, and I have every reason to believe this season is long, and that talent will rise to the top. This team could still win 90 games despite his managing errors. However, the in game decisions TLR has made show a sincere lack of current baseball acumen, a desperate lack of awareness of his current players and the matchups, and a lack of knowledge of how the game has changed. It’s brutal, and in the postseason, where margins are razor thin, any AL manager will make TLR2021 look like Jerry Manuel getting lapped by Sweet Lou back in 2000. There’s no rhythm to this team right now, and baseball is a game where good teams thrive on rhythm and knowing their roles. Nobody has any fucking idea what their roles are. Nobody has any idea when to expect to be in the lineup or where they will hit. Nobody really knows what the sequence of the bullpen is. It’s worrisome as hell. We are one of 30 teams at the very top of this sport in the world. We deserve better than this dogshit. Period.

  12. Can't wait for people to question others "baseball knowledge" and "fandom" with regards to calling out TLR's bullshit; as if this fan base hasn't had to deal with enough shit sitting through the rebuild.

  16. We sat through years of a rebuild to watch sub replacement level Nick Williams bat 5th and Jake Lamb DH. What a debacle.

  17. I knew having TLR as manager was going to suck but I don't think I was prepared for these lineups, he's taking terrible lineup decisions to the next level.

  18. TLR is a total embarrassment. The disconnect between him and the front office is clearly massive right now.

  19. Then he should be at the alternate site and I'd be fine with that decision as well.

  20. I can't for the life of me figure out how a Sox fan could be so upset after a win. What a miserable way to be a fan.

  21. That lineup was designed to lose against one of our biggest rivals. How in the actual bloody fucking hell can you justify to the paying fans a lineup that does NOT include Yermin Mercedes? How can you justify it to Giolito? The fans obviously enjoy Mercedes, yet people showed up today and were treated to Nick Williams and Jake Lamb. What? Why would I even watch that crap, let alone pay money for a ticket and parking and spend my entire night watching that crap... in the 10th inning as well. The White Sox are quickly becoming something I care less about watching, and it didn't take very long. Good thing because I have other things I am happy to spend most of my evenings on. Also, I probably won't ever shutup about this but... thank you Eloy Jimenez for being a dumb fucking ass and taking yourself out of this lineup for the entire year. I know people want to blame management for believing he is a LF, but the guy should know that he should not be trying to rob HRs in Spring Training, or probably ever. Catch the balls and make the plays you can. But nooooooo, he's going to prove that he can be a great defensive player! And whoops, now he's injured for the year and his teammates act like he fucking died. You know why they act that way Eloy? Because they NEED YOUR BAT AND YOU SOLD ON YOUR TEAM. I believe Yoan will figure it out. Heck, I even believe Madrigal will eventually figure it out. But Mendick should, without a doubt, be getting the majority of time at 2B until Madrigal can string together some at bats that don't include weak groundouts. Make the kid work for it, because right now he is getting it easier than Vaughn (why?) and he is playing substantially worse. Where's the Tylenol?

  32. Vaughn is a As far as Lamb getting a shot tonight, Sox Scouts know about the 2016 and 2017 seasons that Lamb had, particularly against RH pitching where he jacked 25 HR just against RH pitchers. Yea, TLaR is older than you but he has a law degree, World Series rings, and is in the HOF. Maybe give him a break and stop piling on the criticism. Enough is enough. Try to enjoy the game men. 43. Nothing is being used to my advantage. You shouldn't take a small sample and make it smaller. The OBP is being used to show his approach has been solid; it's been repeated to you over and over again. His approach has been good. Good approaches will typically lead to good results in the long run. You keep saying he looks terrible, and the rebuttal to that the entire thread has been his approach has been fine. His results could merely be better. He should play in LF because the Sox don't have a better option. This again isn't complicated.

  44. Right -- the anti-Vaughn arguments on here read like the choice is between Vaughn in LF vs. Engel, or some other defensive whiz. I think it's getting lost that the choice right now is Vaughn vs. *Nick Williams*, who is not good.
