Eloy is the primary DH next year. Vaughn is already a much better LF, and will continue to improve out there. They'll sign/trade for a RF. If the Sox run out an Eloy-Robert-Vaughn OF with any regularity next season (especially just to get Sheets in the DH spot), they're going to get exactly what they deserve. Which is dogshit OF defense and a likely injury to Eloy. Eloy needs to play some LF to keep him happy and so he can pretend in NL ballparks. But if hes the everyday LF next season, they Sox are fucking up.

Leury is a garbage time monster beating up on shitty teams. TLA has a clearly stated philosophy about managing April-August to prepare for Sept-Oct. Everyone plays a lot and are put into game situations so that they are ready when called upon when it counts the most. This is not something new for him. Since Robert injury: 43-25 Since Madrigal injury: 21-13 Since Grandal injury: 9-2 TLR still makes some questionable in-game decisions, but you have to give him a ton of credit for the next-man up mentality of this team and winning despite all these injuries.

Zevala is not a major league catcher. There is no shortage of better defensive catchers that can’t hit.

Going into October without getting help at 2B AND RF would be negligent. We have a special starting staff and a real chance of going all the way. Billy and Goodwin have been stepping up. Same for Burger and Sheets. But you don’t shy away from acquiring a real corner OF because of them.
