Man, was I excited when that happened. Little did I think that would be the largest FA signing they’d make during this window.4 points

Nor do we even know if Outman is available. Bellinger is. Outman could also be a AAAA player for all we know. He’s not even a top 100 prospect. You’d think the dude was the next coming of Bryce Harper based on Cali mentioning him every post.3 points
-
I also see no reason why we should move on from that. “This person did not take detailed enough notes during a traumatic experience to satisfy me so I’m going to judge their behavior” has long been a way that men get away with rape with no consequences.3 points
-
Y’all know what? It’s a Bellinger thread now. First post is still there if you want to comment on it but we will probably be talking about Bellinger for a while. Go to town.3 points
-
??? you are a clown. This is now the third time I have to reiterate that I have never once in any of my posts said he is without a doubt a rapist.2 points

If there was actual video of Boston not raping this woman, you'd have another excuse. It is weird someone wants to convict someone of a rape 30 years ago because he thinks he's a bad first base coach.2 points

Balta and ShoelessRob don't know the full story, but I'm sure they'll pretend like they do.2 points

She failed a polygraph. She told cops she kissed them goodbye and made the bed. Those are things she told cops. She sought the Mets players at the bar. Witnesses said she was very aggressive. Boston actually left the bar and went home to play video games. Something she even confirmed. That was right around the time of Wiiiam Kennedy Smith in FL. I am thinking they would have loved to have charged 3 somewhat prominent black guys with raping a white woman, but there was no evidence. Why is it not possible Boston is innocent? I could see if it went to trial and he go off, but they couldn't even charge him.2 points

You’re losing me when you call Stone Garrett a young stud. And Outman is interesting, but seems to be a boom or bust type guy. The Dodgers won’t just give him away though, so you’ll also have to pay a decent price in talent to have the luxury of seeing what guy you ultimately get.2 points

Forget the rape accusations if you will. But with the well known lackadaisical culture of the team last year, any coach that didn't prove themselves to be superb at their job (like Ethan Katz for example), by default should not return in my opinion.2 points
-
So anyone accused of anything shouldn't be able to work. Got it. If you ever read the story you will see where there are some cracks. Her friend who she swapped Darling and Cone on the same night sort of remained neutral. She did give DBo and Vince Coleman kisses goodbye when she left. Could be a coping mechanism, could be someone got a bit overserved and did something they regretted. I don't know. But to say Boston is a bad guy without really knowing what happened is a reach. I am all for victims rights. But these guys weren't charged and yet many are disgusted Daryl Boston has anything to do with the White Sox. That's crazy to me.2 points

Man it is astounding to realize that bellinger would have led our team in HRs last year off his bad year. I do think given the LH batter issue we kinda need to take shots like this2 points

Maybe he’ll stop pulling out the big stick at away games and will start eating spaghetti at home again.2 points

Bruce Levine doesn’t even know what year it is.2 points

Front office needs their clubhouse snitch unfortunately2 points

And the one thing you will never ponder is how many rapists walked free because the police weeded it out on exactly the standards you’ve outline here.1 point

Not only that, but do we really think Bellinger has any interest in coming to the Sox? If half the league is in on him, we all know the Sox aren't providing him the best offer, so he's literally have to choose to play here. I see zero reason Chicago would top his list other than pot being legal.1 point

The one thing we all can agree on is Hahn will fall far short if he thinks he is going to fix most of the issues by trade.1 point
-
I don't necessarily endorse getting Bellinger, but the Sox need to sign at least one pitcher and probably an outfielder from the Bellinger, Conforto, Benintendi, Nimmo group. I know Hahn says he's going to solve their problems via trade, but I just don't see the assets to do that. Right now, this team has more money than players and should act accordingly. Especially since they have quite a bit of cash coming off the books in the next two years.1 point

I'm bothered the guy is called a rapist , when it not only hasn't been proven, it was determined it cannot be proven. But remember, if you are ever accused of something heinous, even if you didn't do it, you should be treated by society like you did it the rest of your life.1 point

I'm not an expert on Dodger prospects, but isn't Outman considered more of a potential bench or platoon player.... than a guy we would trade one of the top closers in baseball for?1 point
-
Yes. He seemed to have a pretty good relationship with his players.1 point
-
I don't think Lux' 3 WAR is anywhere close to legit. He doesn't hit for power, his D is okay, not great, and his OBP is good, not great. He's kind of what we would could have reasonably expected out of Madrigal. Sosa or Gonzales should be able to deliver something close to that. Sox really need outfielders.1 point
-
A case can be made for that. I just think it’s time to move on from the rape allegation. The accuser has been dead for a decade and the accusation was 30 years ago with no charge. Nothing new is coming down the road.1 point
-
That’s why I said accused. And there’s a reason why polygraphs are not admissible in court in most states.1 point
-
That’s cool but for whatever reasons he’s just not as good as he was touted to be.1 point

I don’t know what the big deal is about being a good base runner if you don’t get on base.1 point

This would be a very Kenny Williams-like move. Get a former star for pennies on the dollar when their value is smashed, and pray their former self returns (which it wouldn't in this case).1 point

Can they get him to focus on baseball as well? If such hearsay is true of course.1 point

Get Yoan there too to increase his bat speed please1 point

Ehhh. I’d prefer Boston be gone but he’s a 1B coach. It’s not exactly an earth shattering position.1 point

I suppose one can call it a rebuild but, notwithstanding the reduction to payroll (depending on who you find to replace TA), I actually feel it would improve the team in '23 and beyond. Its a big trade for both sides and I'd be shocked if the Dodgers would move Miller let alone both he and Pages, not to mention Outman. That said, I'd move TA, Gio and Hendricks in a nano-sec for that package because if they are 'half their team' (I get the figure of speech), the Sox as a whole will be awful.1 point

Dunn was also a 4 year commitment at significant dollars back then. Bellinger coming off a DFA wouldn’t be getting the same here.1 point

People underestimate how much it hurt the Sox not having a healthy engaged Timmy at the plate. Getting prime Timmy back makes a massive difference.1 point

They’re really nothing alike. At least Bellinger has legitimate value in the field and base paths. Dunn had none.1 point

The $180M number comes from James Fegan and that figure is consistent with Hahn’s tone since his end of season press conference. Look, I’m not trying to be a Parkman like pessimist here, but all signs point to a payroll cut. I really hope I’m wrong because I agree we really just two B tier free agents to put us in a decent spot.1 point

I’m in the minority, but at this point I’m almost more interested in the wbc than the MLB. Nothing intentional or penal like Ron or anything, I just think the sox have so consistently done things that make me feel negative for so many years in a row now, my lizard brain is just finally deciding to try to move on. I’m also a little drunk right now so I might regret saying this.1 point

Sox were first to wear pastel blues in the 60's so wear them at home like other teams do. Dick Allen looked great in them.1 point

They maybe win 3 or 4 more games. Wish Tony was THE Problem, but he was only A Problem1 point
