  1. I'd sign Josh Naylor. Left-handed power, good hit tool, can steal you a base, and fiery presence. He's also been around long enough to check the veteran box.

  2. Honestly I would stay the F..k away from Schwarber. Typical Sox signing that will decline with the Sox. Plus he's 34

  3. This game is taking forever but it’s awesome. We don’t see this type of pitching-dominant game much anymore

  4. I'm not crying. The tissues are for you not accepting the guy running the show is neck deep why we suck. Sure, Jerry is most at fault, but to hitch hopes to a guy that has failed miserably at his job seems silly. And you really, REALLY need to squint to see the horizon 4 years down the road.

  5. I think Tauchman is a lock. The Sox can’t sign another RF as good as Tauchman for $3.4 million, even with his injury issues, and cheap is the key. If he makes it through Spring Training unscathed, he’s starting in RF on opening day 2026.

  6. I agree about getting back into Asia. However, I think Murakami could be a strikeout machine with middling production. I'd rather they establish themselves as revenue producers before adding tons of players who might be jettisoned in the middle of their deals.

  7. Of course once again we see a nothing the Sox ever do is good enough answers. I dont know what we got but I'm sure it isn't good enough. I'm not happy whatever they did to unlock Colson and find Shane Smith have 8 rookies perform at decent levels. Let's downplay how huge these things were in scouting and development and demand they spend $160M on computers , software and more people which ,by the way, wouldnt even come close to being $160M . So lazy and unimaginative. Compare what Colson did in his rookie year to Tatis, Jr. Very very similar . Next year it could be Hagen Smith Schultz, Bonemer ,Antonacci, Teel or Quero, Baldwin, Sosa, Vargas , Shane Smith or even Burke emerging as All Star caliber players .There's more development left. Let's make sure the upcoming draft is the has been well scouted and they stick with the the current strategy of getting non prima donna types who love baseball. How bout this. Stick your nose back into the Japanese market and make a play for Munetaka Murakami. He's only 25 and has big power and a high walk rate. He plays 3rd and 1st base. The Cubs seem to be able to get Japanese players so the Sox can too. Need to start evolving things on the player acquistion side of things. The faster the team gets into acting like a big market team on the player acquistion side of things the better. It's the easiest way to win the division most years. You don't need overkill in an area that generally doesn't cost tens of millions of dollars . You just have to maintain and update yearly and get the things like Trajekt machines and modern tech into the affiliates. The Sox are probably still behind the curve but since JR went into estate planning mode Getz has managed put some money into modernizing and R & D . The new facility in the DR that was announced in August 2025 will cost $12M and be finished in the fall 2026 .I'm sure getting everything up to speed the 1st few years would be the most costly but just $10M annually would go pretty far . OK fantasy play time is over but in a few years once the Ishbia's are the new owners this could be a reality .

  9. Munetaka Murakami would be the #1 option for me. After him, it'd be signing younger players to 3-5 year deals at $5-$10 mil per year higher than they'd be getting elsewhere, or whatever it would take to get them to come here. This would both give the current team a much needed shot in the arm, and worst case you could trade them in 2-4 years for quality prospects if things don't go well. I likely wouldn't consider players much over 30 years old on anything except short term deals, with the intent to trade them in a year or two. Younger players I'd consider: Kyle Tucker Josh Naylor Dylan Cease Ranger Suarez Zac Gallen Pete Alonso (He'll be 31 but his profile should age well. That said he'd come here and hit .220 with 18 HRs) Bo Bichette (not likely unless he's willing to move to third or second, or Colson moves to third)

  11. Just put money in the farm system. That is the future heartbeat of this organization.

  12. I am putting that money into everything BUT the on the field team. International scouts, MiLB scouts, top coaching and development people, facilities, technology, etc. Quit acting like we should be impressed by getting the stuff other teams got a decade ago. Do whatever we can to get ahead of the curve. Hell looking into AI analytics programming before it takes over baseball and we chase that a decade later. Get ahead of teams instead of even.

  13. The team was the worst team in the American League. I don't think feelings have anything to do with an F grade for an F performance. Also, Ishbia is taking over in 4 years at the earliest, and you're "hoping" they're hovering around .500 by then. Sounds like a lot of F's still to come then. The cavalry from the 17th ranked farm system is on their way to save the 31st ranked MLB club.

  14. I would say “they gotta score after that half inning” but I have said that for 9 straight innings now

  15. And f*** Josh Naylor. Dude hits a HR a game against the White Sox. He can't get fired up against anybody else, seemingly. If the Sox signed him, he'd be an emo goth piece of work. He'd hit 9 HRs and mirror Vaughn's worst months.

  16. I'm thinking about Orion Kerkering, who just made a huge mistake on the highest level, but the guy is simply a really good pitcher. The Phillies will be happy to have him back next year. Wilson at $1.5mil is nothing. He's not a superstar, but he isn't being paid like one either. He's on the exact arbitration scale you would expect. If the Sox non-tendered him (which they obviously won't, no team would), some other team would pick him up and probably for more money in an instant. It's just a weird take. Personal vendetta-ish. He's not expected to be the closer, we recently paid Liam Hendricks 12 times more to fill that role. Wilson was by all metrics an above average reliever last year.

  20. Every team in the playoffs has had bullpens s%*# the bed and lose games. If these guys, here, know of a hotbed of pitchers who don't give up runs, they should let their favorite team in on the secret.

  21. $1.5mil for a guy with a 3.42 ERA in 55 IP is a bargain in any setting. Luis Garcia had almost exactly the same stats and was paid $4.5mil last year. As did Kyle Finnegan and he was paid $6mil. Andrew "Olive" Kittredge was paid $10mil to post the same numbers. Nick Mears is on the same arbitration scale, will earn $1.6mil next year, pitched to a 3.99 ERA. This is far less than the going rate for comparable relief pitchers. It would be a poor baseball decision to non-tender him.

  22. Naylor and Bellinger would make us like a 75 win team on paper assuming you make a couple smart pitching adds maybe even get up around 77-78. I'd settle for that.

  23. I just wish he would make an announcement about the stadium. Whether its about the new stadium or staying where they're at.

  24. You already mentioned this but all the free agents are too old for this team. I would sooner see the Sox look for a team that wants to dump a bloated veteran contract and have that team pay the Sox in prospect(s) to take on their bad deal.

  25. This free agent class doesn’t exactly inspire me, but I would take Bellinger. It seems like his injuries are behind him and his positional versatility would come in handy as the Sox continue to figure out what they have. The pitchers are a real crapshoot. You don’t know what you’re getting from year to year with Cease and while I love his track record, Framber scares the hell out of me. There is a ton of mileage on that arm. in reality I will take the Josh Rojas/Nicky Lopez OF equivalent and I’ll be forced to like it.

  26. The Brewers have been the better team in 3 of the 4 games. They’re very clearly still a better overall team than the Cubs. That plus going back home outweighs whatever momentum the Cubs have right now IMO. I’d be very surprised if the Cubs win. And this is not just some Cubs hate nonsense or whatever. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Cubs advance. I just don’t think they’re good enough to win 3 straight vs the Brewers.

  27. I believe the most money the Sox have eaten was when they cut Keuchel early in the 2022 season. They had to pay him around $13.5 million remaining in the final year of his deal and a $1.5 million buyout, so around $15 million in total.

  30. Gave him a C. Some positives, some negatives: Good Won 19 games more than last season Miguel Vargas somehow put up a 100 wRC+ after looking like he had no clue at the plate last year Teel and Montgomery look like above average regulars Quero and Meidroth were up and down, and I have concerns about either of them being regulars, but they have potential Robert bounced back from a rough first half and was looking good before his injury Slater and Tauchman were solid signings Found a solid starter (Smith) and really good reliever (Vasil) in the rule 5 draft. This doesn't happen often Venable made some puzzling mistakes, but the team played hard for him until the end. Overall seems like a good hire They hired guys from good outside organizations (Rangers, Brewers and Orioles) to help with player development Grant Taylor got BABIP'd to death for a couple weeks but otherwise looked like a solid closer The Crochet trade looks like it will provide a lot of value Braden Montgomery had a really nice first season in the minors Already talked about Teel and Meidroth Wikelman Gonzalez was nasty and looks like he can be a really good reliever Drafting and development seems to be better than before, with potential value coming from all rounds of the draft Bonemer, Fauske, McDougal, Oppor, Lodise, Wolkow, Antonacci, Adams, Pallette all later round picks in the top 15 of the Sox top 30 on MLB, and all have a chance to contribute at the MLB level The LatAm revamp is underway, and the Sox are currently in the drivers seat for top Dominican prospect Braston Basker, which NEVER would have happened before Bad They still lost 102 games because they were abysmal in the first half of the season, couldn't win one run games and had long losing streaks. Need to fix those problems to take the next step Regression from Smith and Schultz. Hopefully its growing pains and not signs of permanent regression. Need at least one of those guys to be a good starter to keep the arrow pointing up on the major league team The Cease trade looked terrible this year - Thorpe is hurt, Zavala showed some life but was overall not very good, Iriarte has fallen off the prospect list, and Wilson is a mediocre reliever. Need Thorpe to show something next year to get some value from this trade I'd rather young guys put up <80 wRC+ instead of guys like Rojas, Amaya, etc. Robert had a rough first half and got hurt yet again Minor league system ranking fell 10+ spots after graduating Montgomery, Teel and Quero. Need to keep a solid pipeline going constantly for this team to have any future success - we'll see how the system rebounds in 2026 Taylor should be given every opportunity to start. I'm nervous they brought him up to the bullpen. Hopefully he takes the Crochet route (without the TJ surgery) They're not gonna spend money on free agents until Jerry is gone, so the job is much harder than it needs to be
