Honestly, rest of the playoffs are gravy. I will be disappointed when/if they lose, but they LOST 10 IN A ROW LAST SEASON. I'm all about making the most of your window, but they just won a playoff game against the Packers.

Defensively…they were a completely diff line in the second half. I think they are garbage, but in a playoff game they played their asses off.

Just an absolute disaster of a first half, all of the negatives we've seen the last month have been amplified. I just don't know what you do about the defense. It's not just the pass rush, the lack of speed ANYWHERE is just brutal. A month ago, I thought they were a pass rusher away from being a real SB threat in 2026...but they need a lot more than that on the defensive side of the ball at this point.

Fourth and three or less, this entire game, I don’t care if the Bears are backed up on the 1 yard line, thet need to go for it. This defense cannot stop anyone.

Ill say this about Thorpe as someone who isnt a huge believer that he'll succeed at all, the guy has the mindset and drive to be great.

With Cowles gone, there is a little less positional fat on the 40 man roster. Romo, Murray, & Peters look like planned AAA depth at their respective positions. I think all three of them stick through OD. However, we still have 5 guys without options who aren’t locks to make the roster in Lee, Pereira, Hill, Mead, & Ramos. Without further additions, I’d expect two or three of those guys to fill bench roles (with a NRI like Kelenic being a possibility for one of those spots). There should be a way to clear one or two roster spots here if we wanted to add an OF or a veteran arm. On the pitching side, there is very little fat IMO. Eisert & Hudson on the left side could be DFAed to open up a spot for an addition in free agency or trade. That being said, they may want as many of these LH guys in camp and have the best man win (Hudson is out of options FWIW). Then you have a post hype prospect in Iriarte coming off a disaster of a season and with no signs of his stuff coming back. Do you try to sneak him through waivers before camp? Would any team actually take him? Unless you’re getting positive off-season reports, he’s firmly in the mix of players you DFA to open up a roster spot.

Hate to say it but with the lockout pending that plan will be altered. I can't see anybody really doing much next offseason until the new CBA is signed. Fingers crossed somehow they come to an agreement.

I agree that adding "just" anybody doesn't make sense. I think they are looking at a 75 win season which they can come close to without adding much.

Thats fine. But if that your view dont be upset when they want to move to a place where they can gain more revenue. The city/state has a lease until 2030/2031. They are purposely making it difficult for the Bears to move. Which is their right, sort of. So the Bears also have the option to explore other options such as Indiana. I dont really think they'll go there but if the state wants to play the politics so can the Bears.

They need to stop being so damn greedy and just put it all on MLB.TV with no blackout restrictions and be done with it. Stop making it so damn difficult to watch baseball games.
