  1. Ignoring your Antonacci slander, shocked you were first one to say this. No idea what veneable is doing there. As obvious a coaching decision as you'll see late game. It's like he didn't know.
  2. Venable can’t be brought back after this season
  3. Still mad about the double play that shouldn’t have been.
  4. Even the outs were smoked.
  5. Guys I see nothing but private equity and I’m disgusted
  6. White Sox doing White Sox things. Another blown game by this brutal bullpen. 4th time this year the Sox had a lead in the 7th inning or later and lost. And the season is only three weeks old or so. And not being able to score with the bases loaded, no one out in extra innings was a crusher.

Shane Smith righting the ship with 5+ scoreless, 1 H, 2 BB, 5K. He did come out for the 6th but seemed a bit fatigued and got pulled after two HBPs. Before that, the fastball was looking more in line with his past performance. Maybe he gets one more start down there, but I doubt they'll hold him back too much longer.
  8. If they had no more bats on their bench, this is a fireable offense.
  9. He's much better bunting from the left side
  10. A's fans are chanting "Dollar Tree" and schriffen mistook it for "Sell the team". Let's go brandon version 2.0
  11. Sox have a shutdown bullpen. They come in, I shut down my TV.
  12. Arguably the best game they played all season.
  13. Love watching Martin pitch when he's on, such a professional on the mound (and in the clubhouse). I'm in no rush to trade him at all, let him be the "vet innings eater" they'd pick up in any given offseason anyway until there are 5 better starters around to force him out. Very good to see an offensive breakout, especially for the guys who had been getting BABIP'd lately. 11 balls in play at 99+ mph, 7 of which went for hits. Mune's 114 was the highest EV of his young season so far, and I'd bet the 431ft estimate is underselling it. Sox are tied in the division with the Royals at 7-13. The Royals are on a 5L, 2-8 in their last 10, and have fewer runs scored on the season. Also at 7-13 are the Mets (who are on a 9L) and Rockies. The Blue Jays (7-12) and Astros (8-13) are nearby. This was the Sox (1-6) first win against an opponent with a winning record coming in. Detroit (0-4) and Colorado (0-5) have yet to beat a winning team, while the Brewers and Cardinals have yet to face one. Sox once again halt a skid at 3. Easily one of the biggest differences between this April and the last 2. At this point last year, they had already had a 6L and 8L. In 2024, it was 2 separate 4L's, a 6L, AND they were in the middle of what would end up being another 7L. Win #7 on 4/17, compared to 5/4/2024 and 4/26/2025 (also against the A's). Date to beat for win #8 is May 1.

I'm a positive fan! I'm not at all worried about Colson, he's a great athlete and will adjust. I think Taylor is a complete star. I think Teel has a chance of being a perennial all-star. I think Antonacci is going to have an 8+ year career with some 4+ WAR seasons in there. I believe Schultz will be an actual 1. The problem is, the team in general sucks and run by someone who simply isnt good at this.

Somewhere, @Harold's Leg Lift is sitting in his straight off the lot, Jeep Grand Cherokee and bashing his head against the steering wheel at the sight of Chris Getz failing and Kelenic busting out of the league in the Sox organization

Well I hate gossip, but I've heard they may be protesting the trade of Lenyn Sosa.
  17. w------y @ soxmachine "A position change was his (Antonacci's) only path to long-term MLB playing time in this organization. They didn't start playing him in LF because they're poorly run. They started playing him in LF to give him a viable path.” Sigh. How many forced position changes have ended up well for this organization??? Getz has now had 2 1/2 years to find a viable replacement for Benintendi... Too many vets signed with spotty recent injury histories, too.
  18. I’d rather him stay in the minors and away from this cursed team.
  19. f*** no. See you at your funeral.

Shelton is certainly intriguing. His track record of power in the SEC, then changing his approach and hitting for average in the SEC gives me hope that maybe he’s found a happy medium. Might just be a heater, but man does he look good.
  21. LF arm is really not as important as a RF arm. Just hit the cut-off man. But the reason that Antonacci was brought up was to hit, and thus far, he hasn't. It looks like his timing is way off at the plate or maybe he is over-matched at this level. If so, I admit I was quite wrong about him. Maybe give him another series before sending him back down. Too many non-competitive at-bats in key situations, so he will only have himself to blame if they send him down.

Been a little bit since WS has had this much pop in the lineup, though the real test of Birmingham's low scoring environment awaits these guys.
  23. Funny how they seem to always go against the Sox. Just like their record in one run games. It’s a terrible roster that Getz put together and that’s primarily the reason they lose any game, close out not.
  24. The one he hit today, where his lower body was way out ahead and he basically just flipped at it and hit it out to left center, was among the most impressive displays of power I can remember seeing.
  25. He would be pitching to a pitcher.
  26. The pitcher on the mound for the Sox walked in the losing run two days ago so I suspect that may have played a role in deciding not to walk the bases loaded
  27. at least they saved having to use Taylor so he can be an opener again lol
  28. Ray Ray's call on Antonacci looking dubious at best
  29. McGuire has made some huge defensive stops behind the plate in this one
  30. Soft contact galore
  31. Omg did he just say they’re saying sell the team?
  32. You couldn’t pull a greased tee outta my you-know-what
  33. they should make 10 pitch walks for ser anthony i doubt he'd hit 3 strikes
  34. They don't have the arms available for extended extra innings anyway, so I get taking their shot with speed in the 9th. Vargas needed a productive AB to follow it up though. If Mune's spot comes back up, it should mean they scored top 10.
  35. Mune knows the zone
  36. Don't tell Frank, he'll try to sue for not making royalties on his likeness.
  37. They’ve botched everything about this bullpen so badly
  38. McGuire just couldn’t beat it
  39. too many hitters on this roster who can't hit the ball over the OFers heads
  40. Maybe? Hopefully?🙏
  41. Love that outcome. Would hate to root for anything out of Notre Dame though. 🙃

I'll believe he exists when he makes an affiliate. Until then, he's AI. Also, has there been a McLain sighting? He was supposedly gonna play this year. Kinda depressing since they chose him over my preferred pick that year, Mike Sirota.
  43. Good guy BMont
