  1. Lol 1.2 million or whatever for three weeks of part time work. Penny smart pound foolish strikes again.
  2. Pal, you are fascinating. This happens over and over: Team does something. people say this makes no sense for all these reasons, and they show how obvious it is. Those things happen exactly as was said, and people flame it. You: "it happens, it's not like anyone can predict or see that coming. That's just how it works. Rinse and repeat.
  3. No watching Schultz was fun.
  4. Because someone questioned, and the Guardians of the Getzy have declared war on it.
  5. SURPRISE! He didn't make it to May in favor of someone who was already rostered.
  6. See ya later alligator masturbator.

This is the Oppor I was excited to see.
  8. Figured the main Mune thread could get a new title. Dude is bonkers. Ishbia should strong arm Reinsdorf in whatever capacity he can, because a Japanese superstar would be an amazing team asset to have when opening a new stadium.
  9. Where WE gets lost is that process is imperative for a team trying to succeed on the fringes. The process you display is indicative of the success you'll achieve. Bad process means bad outcomes for a team on the margins with tight budgets. I shame bad process. It doesn't always cost tens of millions, or show itself like a glaring bad free agent signing, but bad process has a way of compiling and greatly inhibiting teams that can't spend their way out of it.
  10. It was a dumb signing then, it was a waste of money, regardless of how little/much you want to argue it is. It was a Chris Getz special.
  11. This has been going on for years and JR doesn't seem to have a problem with it. But lay out big money for a Machado or Harper? No can do.
  12. Yeah, it added no value but it cost money. Penny pinching teams should never throw money away, however small it is.
  13. I have to wonder how much money is wasted on guys like this
  14. That may have been the closest ABS challenge I've seen.
  15. "the way this team is playing, you don't want anyone to get injured" this guy says the stupidest s%*#.
  16. Are they really on the hook for $1.2 million? The MLB TradeRumors story seemed to indicate that they are. However, the Sox on 35th story indicated that these contracts often include a "45-day advance consent clause" that would enable the Sox to avoid paying salary for the remainder of the year.
  17. This is how it should have been from the start. A really stupid signing, though it was essentially chump change. The chump change can add up though. It was incredible that Romo passed through waivers, the guy is incredible defensively and his bat has never really been bad for a defense-first kinda catcher. Excited to see him on the team, though it makes me wonder what his future is when Teel is back since I believe he doesn't have any options. Could we see Quero bumped back to Charlotte if Romo is hitting? Love Quero, but he might need it, if only to rediscover some confidence at the plate. Also, public masturbation joke, fill in the blanks.
  18. Ohtani, Trout and Betts all had 10 WAR seasons before they signed those contracts

He's certainly making a case for himself with this insane heater he's on. I'm not sure how much longer they can keep him in Winston, but I'll definitely be excited to see how he does in Birmingham whenever he gets the call, which will be more age appropriate.
  20. The Panicans are absolutely dying for another loss so they can come out of the woodwork and tell us how much this team sucks.
  21. Acuna making an error with Getz in the booth is the White Sox moment of the year
  22. Eric Byrnes need to be hit by a car(wind)shield.
  23. Second time in two days Peters has just missed one
  24. Fucking peters needs a corked bat. Man.
  25. Gross, Noah. Keep it up.
  26. Let's take another series today.
  27. He looked awful. Glad he’s being replaced and Romo gets a shot.
  28. Specific clauses like that usually aren’t reported anywhere so I have no idea where this Joe Binder dude of “Sox on 35th” got it from.
  29. I've seen a little chatter about NYY potentially going for a Ben Rice extension. Could provide another possible comp if they do.
  30. $1.2 million for 11 games and 34 plate appearances. Dude earned $109K per game. How the guy wasn’t signed to a minor league deal is strange.
  31. Edit: I was late to the party
  32. You wouldn’t be the first to make that mistake (cough browns)
  33. I think Quero might need a reset in Charlotte. I like that Romo and Antonacci had to play their way out of AAA. Schultz too, to an extent.
  34. Yeah, because they are older. Vlad Jr. got paid so much due to youth and potential, but yeah, will likely bottom out on that massive deal. You are comparing a 26/27 year old to Schwarber who signed an extension in December at age 32 and Alonso who signed with Baltimore at age 31.
  35. The anti-panickans are afraid of being pilloried for being too positive/optimistic? We’ve already had Mays/Mantle this week and now JR potentially giving out $300-500 million dollar deals to a 1B? living in pretty rarefied air right now for a 69-93 pace team
  36. The WR pick is absolutely inexcusable. The idea that narrowing down your board so much based on fit that you are taking tiny punt returners in round 3 means your process sucks or your coach is over fitting to his scheme
  37. He's playing 1st with CLT
  38. that's why it's dumb to invest so heavily with media hype with rookie players when we have guys in the minors who could easily replace them, but now we will probably never get a chance to see Jacob Gonzalez in the majors unless someone gets hurt. if he is actually figuring it out, he's a better player than Meidroth and probably SA

Feels like the middle infield prospects are just collectively going nuts. Shelton, Bonemer, Bergolla, Lodise, Mogollon, Nishida and Burrowes all have wRC+ above 100. Carlson's at 91 which isn't bad all things considered. Now add Colson, Meidroth and Antonacci at the MLB level. And likely Roch. Wonderful to see.
  41. Charlotte sure has cured Jacob Gonzalez . 2 HR and 7 RBI in 11-9 Charlotte win
  42. Careful, the panicans will be back soon
  43. Sox get win #11 at home and start another series off on a good note. They have won the opener in 6/9 series so far, but they are 3/3 on getting swept when they lose it. Save #6 for Dominguez, T-5 in the league behind Miller, Bednar, Sewald, and Riley O'Brien (STL). At 11-15, they are closer to 3rd in the division (Twins, 12-14) than last (KC, 9-17). They are 10-10 since opening road trip, and have won 4 of 5. Fedde pitched better than his line, really seems pitching here agrees with him for some reason.
  44. I can't think of one reason why he hasn't been up the past couple weeks already

Ben Peoples having a good start to the season. No runs given up in 12 innings with 11 Ks (8 appearances). Could see him in the major league pen if he keeps it up.
