  1. Some here, including yourself, stopped updating projections when the Sox started winning more consistently. All I ever predicted was 77-78 wins. I never said anything about attendance or the playoffs.
  2. Not trading anyone if theyre in 1st place with Teel and Braden in the lineup from Jume through the trade deadline. I know it's stick to the plan for now but that plan may include how to handle being in 1st place when August rolls around and drawing big crowds.
  3. Nice to see them keep finding different ways to win, including scratching and clawing for this one late. Davis Martin is such a development success story. Win #19 and series win #6, both of which didn't come until June last season. Tied for 2nd with KC pending their night game. 14-11 in their last 25.
  4. Sam is looking better and better in the leadoff position.

  6. Teams have made the playoffs by dominating the White Sox....let's turn that around. The division stinks...take advantage of that to at least play relevant baseball deep into the summer.
  7. I completely forgot about Baldwin. He could compete for that RF spot. I like Antonacci in LF, Montgomery in CF and then trade for or acquire via FA a solid RF. If Peters produces all season then he is the perfect back up outfielder.
  8. Happy pill wearing off. Saves are saves . No one has claimed the Sox will be a World Series contender this year. Just nailing down series wins against teams with similar records goes a long way toward major improvement.
  9. Davis Martin has to be in the top 5 for Cy Young at this point in the season. He's been incredible!
  10. SOUTHSIDE STAAAAAAND UP!!! I really wish Schiff would shut the f*** up with that - I absolutely cannot stand that crap.
  11. Probaby right but he has come through in a couple high leverage situations and despite the bunt attempts it was a good AB. Hard to wait for Braden Montgomery and Teel but the lineup will be much better.
  12. "he would get a breakfast taco, which he said is big in Texas" it's like a fucking alien on the call. breakfast taco has been a thing since I was like 5 years old and I'm from Michigan and in my 40s.

Antonacci has actually been pretty good as a non-traditional LF. Helps out at the top of the order. If Pereira could stay on the field, we’d get a better read on him. Braden will be up in a month or so to add yet another guy with a decent eye and power but a lot of in zone swing and miss to this team. The fact that they are scoring decently with 4.5 average to above average hitters is a good sign. Get Teel back and get a little more production from of/DH and this team could take off.
  14. It's not a floor pick. This is what I've said though: How high does someone else's ceiling have to be to pass on the floor that Roch provides? Cholowsky could be a perennial All Star SS with plus defense and power and he could be in the majors by midseason 2027. Him being to the majors quickly and the defense is the floor. Emerson hits left-handed and probably has the better hit tool. He's not quite Bobby Witt Jr but pretty awesome for a prep guy. Could have a higher ceiling than Cholowsky. Also less likely to reach it but pretty safe bet for a star high school guy. Jacob Lombard has the highest ceiling of them all. 70 power and speed with plus defense at shortstop. He could be Manny Machado. But he might not get out of AA. I hope this helps.
  15. people are trashing this on twitter because they're insufferable losers, I think it's badass
  16. I’d like Teel back for the Cubs series but that’s probably too soon given how much time he missed. They need to make sure he is in the swing of things again before he gets called up.
  17. Why continually torture yourself by comparing the low payroll Sox in the waning years or JR's life and ownership in a massive rebuild to thriving franchises ? Yes I know being a Sox fan is a lousy thing so what ? I dont compare it to being a Yankee fan or Cubs fan. We arent those franchises .cursing the fate of being born into liking the Sox doesnt bother me as much as other die hards. If these thing truly bother ed me Id just find something else to frustrate me or give me a more pleasurable experience. Maybe Im just fascinated why others choose misery over contentment. I have no choice in how the team is run. Complaining about it doesnt fix anything. I still have complaints sure because I care but not to the point where it puts me in a bad state of mind or where I have to make up things to try to convince others that its even worse than the actual truth. Look forward not back.
  18. I believe. This team is winning games they would have lost the last couple of years. They won todays game without their big hitters having a good day. The 2026 White Sox are going to be one of the best stories in MLB baseball in 2026. White Sox fans will be dancing in the streets at the end of the year. In other words, The White Sox Are Coming, Tra La, Tra La!!!!
  19. If this is true, it further reinforces my belief that War is a very questionable stat, especially when it comes to closers/ relievers, especially. In 2019, Alex Colomé had 30 saves in 33 save opportunities. And what was his war?? One; his war was one for 2019. Colome had 30 saves in 33 SVO and his value to that Sox team was only one win above replacement. That people blindly believe war stats and never question it, I find that (being kind here) interesting.
  20. Possible, if the trend continues it might be easier to win the Division than a WC.
  21. Right now the division leader is at .500. Why couldn't the Sox win the division ? It all depends on how they play against the Royals, Guardians, Tigers and Twins. That should test their mettle .
  22. At some point you stop trading pitchers and build around what you got. I think you hold on to Martin and Burke, and then hopefully Shultz becomes the guy you think he is. Then one of the arms in the minors comes up and becomes a solid starter and you have a nice rotation. I see the Sox window for success opening starting next year. If they can add add a solid RF via free agency or trade and a couple big time BP arms they could definitely contend in the AL Central. There is actually legit reason to be optimistic about the near future.
  23. I was on the edge of my seat in the ninth with the bases loaded, whew, what a win!! Lots of big moments in the 8th for the Sox. I loved Sam getting the bunt down and then Vargas getting the job done with the sac fly.
  24. SoxMachine's post-game wrap, with a factoid some here have been avoiding: White Sox 2, Mariners 1: Finding a way on Mother's Day - Sox Machine *With one quarter of the season in the books, the Sox are on a 77-win pace.
  25. I thought you hated trading away guys to "make Birmingham better" ...?
  26. The Sox being better makes the rest of the division look worse. They had donated a sweep to 3/4 teams in the division and were like 2-14 overall vs. ALC by this point last season.
  27. To me this feels like a game changing win.
  28. 17 consecutive starts with giving up 3 runs or less for Martin.
  29. Career high in pitches and swings and misses in this game.
  30. I don't just automatically listen to opposing broadcast anymore. As long as no more April 23 Vargas swing change mentions. It's Vargas' growing confidence and added strength/kgs that make 75% of the difference. Senior statesman almost. After the wounded puppy isolated from teammates two years ago. Now doing dog barks and putting teammates on leashes lol...scampering around the dugout and having a lot of fun, usually smiling.
  31. Absolutely not Pud… it’s because it sounds God awful and is an annoyance on one’s ears. Duh.
  32. Interesting factoid: Connor Joe is a survivor of metastatic testicular cancer.
  33. He is probably still mad Cal wouldn't shake his hand. The long game.
  34. It's funny that for as much as Randall Grichuk sucks, and how the Sox got fleeced for the very valuable Luis Robert, they have the same number of home runs on the season.
  35. Gilbert is a top flight pitcher and half the Sox lineup sucks. Don't overthink it, just hope they run into one at some point.
  36. Lol oh thats what that was ? I love the reverse jinx. You can say negative stuff and when the opposite happens you can take credit for it 😉
  37. Getting Teel back will feel like this lineup is extended so much more.
  38. And even though Meidroth is in no way , shape or form ,a middle of the order hitter , he's been doing well since he was moved there and has a 9 game hit streak.
  39. FanGraphs had this to say: Chicago White Sox Top 40 Prospects | FanGraphs Baseball 22. Tyler Schweitzer, MIRPDrafted: 5th Round, 2022 from Ball State (CHW) Age 25.4 Height 6′ 0″ Weight 185 Bat / Thr L / L FV 40 Tool Grades (Present/Future) Fastball Slider Curveball Changeup Command Sits/Tops 45/55 45/45 45/50 40/40 45/50 92-94 / 96 The former MAC Pitcher of the Year started his 40-man platform season humming in 95-mph fastballs with cut-ride at Double-A Birmingham. He carved with a five-pitch mix, with a shorter slider being Schweitzer’s most reliably located secondary. Even if being Grant Taylor’s piggyback partner did his stuff few favors, it was still kinder than how the left-hander’s heater played when he got bumped up to the launching pad that is Triple-A Charlotte, this at the same time that his velo regressed to the 92-93 mph band. You don’t see splits this stark everyday. To wit, at Double-A: 49.2 IP, 32 H, 0 HR, 1.27 ERA. At Triple-A: 50 IP, 61 H, 13 HR, 7.92 ERA. Yikes. Schweitzer leverages his plus arm speed to reliably be on time at foot strike and offers starter command of fringy stuff. He ended the year as a multi-inning reliever in Birmingham, dominating again, and that’s where his skill set projects if he can ever weather the horrors of Charlotte.
  40. On pace for 207, maybe more as the weather heats up.
  41. 2 points
He's had reliever risk all along. This is starting to feel like Fulmer risk.
  42. Vargas' second HR the hardest hit of his career at 112.9 EV
  43. What do you know about Schweitzer? Doesn’t look half bad.
  44. Homer 9 weeks til we draft him.
  45. I've seen a lot of chatter about Roch's batting splits (which, I should emphasize, are uniformly small sample size and hard to take seriously). Roch in 3 games against SEC: .273/.357/.636, .994 OPS Roch in 14 games against RPI top 50: .382/.485/.782, 1.267 OPS Roch in 24 games against RPI Q1 + Q2: .337/.492/.696, 1.188 OPS Roch in 12 games on Fridays (i.e., against opposing ace): .255/.413/.489, .902 OPS Roch in 8 games on Fridays against RPI top 100 opponents: .364/.488/.697, 1.185 OPS So to me, not obvious that he shrivels up and dies against good opponents or is particularly feasting on bad opponents. Some additional commentary that his numbers year over year are very similar. I'll note that these splits were very different last season... 3 games against SEC: .077/.077/.077, .154 OPS 23 games against RPI top 50: .273/.383/.455, .838 OPS 29 games against RPI Q1 + Q2: .293/.390/.517, .907 OPS 15 games on Fridays: .276/.405/.517, .923 OPS 8 games on Fridays against RPI top 100: .167/.257/.367, .624 OPS While I wouldn't advise taking any of it too seriously, it is descriptively true that under the hood his 2026 production has shifted more towards hitting well against good competition.
