  1. I'm a lifelong Cardinal fan, but now I've modified that to say, "The Cards are my National League team, and the Sox are my American League team." This certainly is a fun team to watch, and it seems that when one guy isn't able to do what he'd hoped, another guy is there to pick him up. This is a classy bunch of guys, right across the board, although I'll admit I'm a little partial toward my great-nephew out there in left field!
  2. If you are trying to tell me that a mortgage company is more ethical than McDonalds lol McDonald’s at least is a brand name you know you won’t have to rip off the wall in a few years because the company went belly up
  3. Said I'd start 'em up again if and when it happened. Here we are. Keep it going!
  4. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio baseball. We lose a couple, guess what? We'll win a couple, too. But don't get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That's hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn't have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses. Yes sir, that's my 2026 White Sox. A good, honest .500 baseball team.
  5. https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/updated-top-100-prospects-list-may-2026?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage Bonemer 15, Noah 24, Braden 27, Smith 50, Carlson 53 -- so basically 5 of top 50 in MLB. Not fucking bad.
  6. The MLB is going to send her for some additional training…
  7. Yea bro let's get mad at our checks notes 22 year old pitcher making his 6th MLB start and checks notes 23 year old infielder learning a brand new position.
  8. Not sure I can really put a ton of fault on the infielder now being played as an outfielder in the big leagues, over the pitcher who walked the bases loaded with nobody out.
  9. Welcome to SoxTalk! Cardinals fans definitely welcome - you will fit right in rooting against the Cubs this weekend.
  10. So the new Sox stadium right next to it will be Burger King Field. 🤣
  11. I just love the irony. Let's have some of the healthiest athletes on the planet sponsored by some of the unhealthiest slop on the planet.
  12. This is a big boomer take.
  13. Also got a kick out of these on a KCR blog yesterday:
  14. First time at or above .500 this late in a season since 2022. 11-9 at home will play. 4 wins vs. KC is more than all of last season. In fact, it equals the total for 2024 and 2025 combined. The rest of the division maybe due for a reality check about what their records look like when not padded by 8+ wins vs. the White Sox? CLE won, so no gain on first (1.5 GB). DET and MIN both lost. Still in a WC spot, by how much is pending results for TEX/SEA. W4 is the longest active in the AL. 15-10 in their last 25, 7-4 so far in May after a .500 April. Another game with a big contribution from a depth OF, but Colson's insurance HR was the difference. He leads all MLB SS in HR.
  15. Win 2 of 3 this weekend and I’m a believer
  16. I think you can criticize the umpiring without doing this, no?
  17. Sir Anthony "Alex Colome" Dominguez
  18. Guy we stole from the Brewers, right?
  19. Remember when this team was hitting .198. Now .231 and 10th in OPS, 4th in HRs prior to game. As Bob Dylan said "the times they are a changing"
  20. That's 10 straight scoreless for Hicks btw
  21. god damn stfu about TA please.
  22. There is nothing more frustrating to watch than a pitcher who can't throw strikes
  23. Walks or no walks make the catch
  24. This didn't fly off the rack?
  25. They already have. Maybe Roch replaces Vargas, Montgomery, Meidroth, or Antonacci, but maybe not. All of these players have some unique talent(s) that they are bringing to the team, and it is all working together right now.
  26. Congrats on your nephew’s success!
  27. Man. Seeing who started this thread got me in the feels for a second.
  28. Sam is a helluva player. Talented grinder. I love his ABs. He's up there hacking and knows what he's trying to do.
  29. If it lasts more than 4 hours...
  30. McDonald's is a hugely successful international company AND is based in Chicago. As cheap and lame as "McDonald's Park" sounds, quite frankly I'm surprised their name hasn't been used yet in a stadium naming rights deal. The home of the L.A. Lakers is Crypto.com Arena. IMO, that sounds much worse than McDonald's Park. I don't think lower case L "loanDepot Park" in Miami is that great of a name either.
  31. Too bad Burger, Fry, and Colas are out of the picture
  32. Would be much better if it was Grimace Park instead
  33. You can always read the thread but I think it was locked so people couldnt edit predictions or predict after the season started. That's my guess, not a fact. I also think it was locked to avoid getting called out if you were embarassingly wrong.Last year we could see how everyone voted.I dont think that was the case this year. And not everyonewho voted posted how they voted.
  34. Thorpe had his surgery the same day, hoping he's close behind. Bush was about 2 weeks prior
  35. 2 points
  36. Americans love McDonalds. Thats why its so successful, and the coffee is really good. The people online who act so superior probably go there but will never admit it.
  37. Agreed. Rate Field is dumb name, but at least it isn’t a company that markets poison to children.
  38. I mean its still way better than Rate... McDonalds is a beloved Chicago brand. Rate is embarrassing.
  39. And you thought Rate with a red arrow pointing down was bad... chicagofirefcMcDonald’s and Chicago Fire FC Announce Landmark Stadium...- Marks McDonald’s first-ever naming rights partnership for a major professional sports stadium in the U.S. - Long‑term partnership between two iconic Chicago based brands to create a new year‑round d
  40. yeah, but Murakami striking out this much while still basically being a top 5 HR hitter in the league outweights your prediction. Another whiff!
  41. If he isn't a star now, he soon will be. Call me at end of season; we'll compare notes.
  42. My standard is watching fun baseball. The past few years, there wasn't much fun to watch. This team is fun and much better than expected. Sure, they're in a shitty division and realistically wouldn't be within striking distance of first place in any other division, but being in the hunt makes it even more fun.
  43. I stand by my position that a manager's preparation and clubhouse management is vastly more important than his in game decision making, so I reject that C grade entirely. The Renteria to LaRussa experience, exhibit A. Renteria had team ready to compete, like Venable evidently does
  44. Big brain individuals like myself have been calling it a W from the start. I had the foresight to look at it long-term.
  45. Hill had a great catch in the 9th ! He looks good out there on defense. It is going to be difficult for Acuna to maintain a roster spot once Periera and Hays come up.
