  1. That's gotta be the best Sox game since Field of Dreams.
  2. 9 game homestand vs. a wildcard rival, a division rival, and the crosstown rival… Sox come out of it 7-2. Their starter didn't have it today, their closer didn't have it (bad luck/calls aside), and they stranded the winning run at 2nd in the 9th...but still came through with a win vs. a Cubs team with the 3rd best record in baseball. Really feels like this team has earned a bit more than people calling the game when they go down 2 early or give up 1 late. They aren’t going to win all of them, but they are going to fight like hell. Sox improve to 24-22. Win 24 last year came over a month later in the season (June 20)...and was paired with 52 losses. 3 hits, 5 ABS overturns, and a massive walkoff dong for EQ. He's too young and too talented to give up on. Top of the order can hang with a lot of teams, and the role guys have been finding their own ways to chip in. Let's mess around and win another west coast road trip (might need another fresh arm...), and then we'll see what they're really made of with a 10 game run vs. the division. CLE won again (thanks for nothing, Reds), so still 1 GB.
  3. Hard to stand up when you are actively vomiting because of how terrible the broadcast is.
  4. Hot take: Both Quero’s celebration and all of PCA’s antics are great. Baseball is better when players are showing personality and having fun.
  5. I found the love of my life today while watching the game. She’s a keeper fellas.
  6. I dont even like Benetti but this is an insane take. Schiffren is the worst announcer in baseball by a mile. He actively makes the games worse. It's amazing. It's honestly like every game is the first baseball game he's ever watched.
  7. Stone must be cringing his ass off when he hears that.
  8. I bet you are one of those people who refuses to stand up.
  9. Gotta admit. Amazing call by Schriffen here.
  10. I think he called her a “fucking b****” but tough to make out…
  11. It was certainly interesting seeing Kaplan talk about how "Colson needs to prove it" in a city where PCA gets treated like a future MVP based on like 8 good weeks at the plate. Great defense at a high value position, I get that. But glove first bottom of the order OFs aren't usually 9 figure faces of a team. Agreed on the TA thing as well.
  12. Steve you have Mune on deck, the bases are loaded, the pitcher has thrown 12 straight balls -- do you think he has the 3-0 green light here?
  13. With PCA on their team, they can shove it. Let players have fun.
  14. Edgar stopping around third and doing whatever the hell it was he did was the best. Love him forever now.
  15. If you don't absolutely love this team, you ain't a White Sox fan. This team has absolutely no quit in it!
  16. I didn't think Cubs weren't convincingly the better team in Game 1, but the Sox convincingly took this one. Couldn't have asked for a much better answer after last night. Davis Martin remains a joy to watch. Mune, Montgomery, and Miggy have homered in the same game 4 times already, one shy of the franchise season record (Valentin, Konerko, Crede in 2004). 6-2 on the homestand with the finale pending. 13-10 at home on the season. Sox lead the league in HR and OPS in May. Their 9-5 May record is T-5 in MLB and 2nd in the AL behind the Rays (11-3). DET/KC/MIN lost, CLE won. Still 1 GB, but a bit more cushion (3.5G) for 2nd. Royals on a league-worst L6. Still in the 2nd WC, and SEA/TEX also lost. From 23-52 to 23-22 in a year is quite something.
  17. I had to take a long walk after that 9th. Now I need a drink. What a game, what a season so far!
  18. His celebration was great! This is a game and if your not allowed to have fun why even bother.
  19. What a fun win, walkoffs are one thing but against the cubs in this series that’s a completely different thing. There was a lot of fan heroes and villains born in this series, and that is really fun for the rivalry
  20. I’m not saying this as if I know the answer definitively yet, but what if after all the crap that Chris Getz got, is it possible that he actually has this whole organization going in a good to great position moving forward? He seems to have found a type of player they want. They want guys who play hard every night and are just ball players. Whatever you say about their individual talent level, they all play hard no matter what. His talent acquisitions are starting to look better too. Mune obviously helps, but think about Vargas, Meidroth, Antonocci, Teel, B Montgomery, Vasil, Smith, Thorpe, Bonemer. Those are just the few guys who are good players. He’s had misses but every GM has. I’m not sure what I think of Veneble yet. It’s been hard to judge his on field decisions because of where the team was last year until now. He’s had tons of limitations with the roster until now and even some now. I find his interviews boring. However, people that know him rave about him and his knowledge of the game. Most importantly is that he seems to have completely changed and set a culture. Massive win there. This was a Chris Getz decision and so far he seems to have gotten it correct. Development at all levels looks better. They seem to be drafting better and higher draft picks seem to be developing properly. Also, guys at the major league level look like they are improving as well. This is due to the people he hired. The number one draft pick is also about to be joining the organization. It could all fall apart by July, but as of now Getz seems like he may be ok at this.
  21. 100% agree plus Quero is not normally like that, has had a tough season and probably got the hit of his career so far. While PCA does crap all the damn time.
  22. Just got back from the game wow what an atmosphere, felt like a playoff game. So sweet to send the Cubbies fans home crying. we are for real!!!
  23. Snowflakes.....just like their wonder-boy PCA.
  24. Terrible announcer sounds better because the team is better. We had a homegrown, nationally renowned broadcaster and Jerry and Brooks pissed it away. Typical JR move to a T.
  25. I don’t miss Benetti at all. Still a ways to go but Schiff is getting better.
  26. Guess you’re not one of Jerry’s boys!
  27. he owes me a bottle of gentlemans jack!
  28. Go suck a konkey dong Conforto
  29. Wish we could hit for Peters here (make me look bad, buddy)
  30. He looks like a child whose face has sucker/lollipop/fruit juice residue on it at all times.
  31. Crow Armstrong looks like the guy that wears fubu but is scared of black people.
  32. We all realized that on opening day.
  33. Man some of you are so dramatic.
  34. You ever heard of the Phoenix Suns? One of the billionaire owners of the White Sox has ACTUALLY been involved in spending big money on players in the last few years and it isn't Jerry.
  35. Great win, the one thing I feared isn’t going to happen and that was the Cubs sweeping us in our ballpark, now let’s win the series.
  36. I do think people forget the vibes Renteria's teams had. Made it so annoying that "Ricky's boys don't quit" got co-opted by the TLR era. I can't find it, but I'll always remember this one delightfully stupid clip of the entire dugout getting a beat started for Ryan Cordell to just drop it like it's hot. Then there was Moncada Day outfits or Madrigal's Mr. 3000 shirts. They liked each other. Mune is 100% a more extroverted leader than Pito (though both lead by example / production), but there's no other All-Star level vets (like Grandal, Keuchel, Lynn) to disrupt the club house.
  37. More on Keller scouting Mune: Fuller was also in: Satoshi Takahashi, the Sox NBP scout hired last year, reports from Japan: Mune, on the clubhouse fit: Vargas on Mune as a teammate: The full article: https://www.foxsports.com/stories/mlb/inside-white-sox-pursuit-polarizing-npb-star-munetaka-murakami
  38. I just thought of something. You heard it here first. Murakami, Montgomery, Vargas MMV MMV is the Roman Numeral for 2005. ROMAN! THE POPE!! ANTONACCI!!! MAMMA MIA!!!!
