  1. Ron's manure has been deleted and such, lets get back to the proper game thread here. Shall we break the brooms out?
  2. 6 points
He's finding his footing, 3-4 so far with a pair of doubles and a slam
  3. "Did somebody say move to Nashville?" - Reinsdorf
  4. Update: Teel & Hicks have moved off of the IL. Pereira has been added to the 7 day IL with a concussion. It’s now been 10 days since Everson first went on the IL, so you’d think he’d be back fairly soon, but haven’t seen any official updates on him just yet. Schultz should be back with the major league club next week. Murakami progressing well and getting closer to game action. The big question there is will he go on a rehab assignment or not and if so for how long. On the AAA front, Gonzalez now has two appearances in High A with 4 K’s, 0 BB’s, & 0 R’s over 2.1 innings. He should be in AAA soon and could be a bullpen option for the White Sox sometime after the All-Star break. Adams has now made three starts for AAA and has been excellent posting a 1.93 ERA over 14 IP with 16K’s, 3 BB’s, 10 H’s, and a sub 1 WHIP. He’s a legit threat for Fedde’s rotation spot although would require us opening up a 40 man spot. McDougal & Shane Smith are throwing & appear to be close to beginning rehab assignments IL - Rehab Assignment: Schultz, LHP - Patellar (5/24) 7/10/15 Day IL: Pereira, OF - Concussion (6/17) Murakami, 1B - Hamstring (5/29) Gilbert, LHP - Shoulder (6/9) AAA IL: H. Smith, LHP - Shoulder (6/16) S. Smith, RHP - Rotator Cuff (5/3) McDougal, RHP - Flexor (4/29) Gonzalez, RHP - Lat (4/30) Adams, RHP - Elbow (2025) 60 Day IL: Hays, OF - Calf (5/1) Bush, LHP - Shoulder (Apr/May) Thorpe, RHP - Appendix (Apr/May) Berroa, RHP - Elbow (Apr/May) Leasure, RHP - Forearm (5/27) Out for Season: Baldwin, UT - Elbow (4/1) Murray, IF - Shoulder (4/26) Vasil, RHP - TJS (Mar)
  5. kay against someone named avila with an era over 5. Get'em boys.
  6. This is all Ron's fault. #BanRon
  7. I mean, it’s still Jerry Reinsdorf we’re talking about here. I’ll believe it when I see it.
  8. Both losses on this homestand were very winnable.
  9. Also Ron should be banned from creating threads. Like, on the backend. Take his ability.
  10. We don't deserve to win this game but lets win it anyways.
  11. He did after Kay threw ball 1.
  12. Acuna scoops and turns that s%*#
  13. Should be playing third
  14. Common sense update: That still doesn’t mean he doesn’t make stupid managerial decisions. Perhaps their record is even better if he doesn’t.
  15. Whenever this happens, we all agree that we need to give full credit to Vasil’s magic wand for trolling purposes, right?
  16. We just got Teel back. Why would you want Sal? We need starting pitching first and foremost relief help secondary.
  17. That's what I do when I'm about to house some hot dogs.
  18. I still don’t understand your theoretical here. He already agreed to an opening day payroll based on a certain expected revenue for the season. He came to a specific number knowing a lockout next year was very likely. Nothing has really changed on that front. As such, the additional revenue from attendance being up vs. plan is house money at this point. If had more concerns about next year’s financial situation, he’d have gone even lower with his OD payroll.
  19. Just can't lose this game. They play so good then clunkers like this. KC's pitching lineup was so weak today and the Sox went so cold after the 2nd. Colston in a terrible slump, we needed him today. He's .184 for June & .147, no homers, & 1 2B since NY, all vs Central foes. Most of the few hits he's gotten lately have been jam shots & end of bat bloops and his error today was the difference. Back issues? If so, maybe he needs to sit for a few games.
  20. The BABIP luck in the Guards loss was ridiculous
  21. Winnable, but whatever. Take the series win and move along. Really need to see them win a road series or two here.
  22. this team needs more guys with pop who also can situationally hit to the opposite field
  23. I think it's a thing that started coming into fashion around the time I stopped playing baseball. Basically functions as a cushion to reduce the sting/vibration on balls hit off of the sweet spot. If that's what it is, I'm not sure why he'd keep it on while running the bases other than just not wanting to lose it.
  24. It's because this team sucks and their record is smoke and mirrors. Me and @joejoesox are about to turn this game off.
  25. It's because Ron wanted to be funny and make the thread.
  26. At this point I'm wondering if Thorpe is alive
  27. Kay just feels like a guy who would have taken 60 seconds between pitches in the pre-clock era.
  28. Even 1 probably keeps KC off the board, and the inning is over on that flyout instead of it being a sac
  29. Looking far down the road Colson might be a future first baseman.
  30. Ron should be banned for this s%*#. If we lose, the L falls straight on him.
  31. Acquiring rentals will have no impact on next year.
  32. Jerry doesn’t have much time left. He’ll push the profit from better than expected attendance back into the team. I just hope the Red Sox want to dump Gray for cash savings instead of prospects.
  33. I saw that too pretty much right after his teammate got nailed with Colson still on 3rd waiting to score on the Gonzo hit. That's not good for Colson's back, that quick little lean forward after getting poked. Luckily he isn't as old as me.
  34. Is this happening? Has it been reported?
  35. Yeah, no problem with the bunt call in that particular situation.
  36. Agreed. Most of us hate bunting but that’s cuz it’s a low percentage play. Braden laid down that bunt to perfection. I have no problem with good bunters bunting. I just hope Venable doesn’t force weak bunters to bunt depending on the situation.
  37. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  38. The Braden bunt was a great call. At this point, he’s not a good righty hitter. Also, Colson wasn’t going to score on a single at that point.
  39. Well, at the half-way point, he has the team playing 10 games better than anybody expected them to be. I think he'll get better, but I think he's doing fine, as it is.
  40. I think the Cubs recent trade is a good example of a decent starter addition. They traded their #13 prospect to the Mets for David Peterson, but he is a 23 year old 1B playing in Single A. They knew Peterson was a groundball pitcher and would do much better with a good infield defense, unlike the Mets’. He has already had a nice start for the Cubs tonight. This should be the type of trade Getz looks to make.
  41. Someone seriously wants our Sox to trade for Sal fucking Perez in 2026? “KW always gets his man…” is over. WTF
  42. I’m starting to think that Vargas is the MVP of the 2026 White Sox.
  43. Sounds like there is some chance Murakami doesn’t need to go on a rehab assignment whenever he’s back to 100%. While I still expect it, Venable said that access to Trajekt machines allows for guys to get back in game speed without having to face live pitching.
