  1. Umps would have called that if it was Antonacci
  2. Big opportunity for the Sox to build some separation tonight in the standings. Astros sit 3.5 back of the sox for the coveted 2-seed. Sox can tie up the season series tonight at 3-a-piece, and set themselves up with the opportunity to own the tiebreaker with a win Thursday. Cleveland faces Dylan Cease and the Blue Jays. Davis Martin returns tonight, which version of him will Come Out and Play?
  3. Venable: “He’s a good baserunner.” Ozzie: “Not tonight he wasn’t.”
  4. If they can accuse Sam of doing it on purpose on a 110 mph liner...you can easily call that on Altuve for doing that on a 67 MPH liner.
  5. I know Drew takes a fair amount of heat here, but it continues to be notable to me that our pitchers truly seem to value his presence behind the plate, whatever his shortcomings may be.
  6. Like, one large pizza from O'Hare?
  7. Sox just need to avoid a sweep in Cleveland, and their chances of winning the division are very high. A sweep gives Cleveland 3 games in the standings, plus the tiebreaker. Essentially, 3.5 games gained for Cleveland in one series. 1 Sox win ensures Cleveland can only gain a max of 1 game in the standings, and gives the Sox the tiebreaker. Essentially only 0.5 games gained for Cleveland in one series, even if they win 2 out of 3.
  8. They are better than a B
  9. f*** YOU CHEATER FUCKS. LETS KEEP IT GOIN TOMORROW
  10. Why does Sox mgmt seem to love Romo more than anyone else on the roster?
  11. Starting to think that Venable isn't very good at this managing thing. I mean, even the Astros pitch ran for Yordan. Leaving Newcombe in for a guy who sucks at hitting righties is baffling.
  12. My name is Sean Newcomb, and I have come to chew bubble gum and kick ass…and I’m all out of bubble gum
  13. No one is talking about DFAing Mune, bro. We're talking about moving him down the line up where him struggling won't keep killing rallies. Also you'd have to be goofy extending a player not even completing a full season, need a larger sample size, don't want to get stuck with a long contract based off 3 hot months
  14. How many more times are you going to do that Braden? He has been so bad the last 6 games
  15. My conspiracy theory is there was no blister
  16. I’ve read two posts from you today and both have made me want to vomit.
  17. Glad they showed the replay there, it was a far easier catch than the one they blew dead when Sam dropped it.
  18. Jays up early 1-0 top 1st and threatening more.
  19. This is a big start for martin and the White Sox going forward.
  20. All I really want right now is for the Sox to have a lead of at least 3 1/2 going into Cleveland so that if the worst happened they'd leave still in first place.
  21. I don't really care about the tie breaker with 'Stros doubt it comes into play I just want to get 85-87 and win the division. Seed should take care of itself with those totals. So yea, keep winning, don't crater here at the end.
  22. In da clerb, we all Pham.
  23. Wait, we have an appeal of this post... let's go to New York... This post has been overturned. Soxtalk still has both challenges left.
  24. Martin's pitch mix is finally looking good again.
  25. Will needs to argue that. Umpires have kept trying to f*** us this series.
  26. Play was called differently when Sam was involved earlier this season.
  27. Thorpe currently through 4ip on 53 pitches. Gave up an oppo wall scraper for the only run allowed.
  28. Cleveland SS with one of the worst force out throws to 2nd you'll ever see. Inning would have ended at 1-0. It's now 6-0 Jays.
  29. Toronto with an early 1-0 lead against Cleveland, hitting Cantillo hard
  30. I noticed last night his receiving has gotten a lot better. I think Rogers is giving him some tips too.
  31. I can’t be the only one finding myself saying this phrase more often around my kids
  32. He has begun to throw a lot more runners out, and also make a lot more challenges that he is correct on. It’s hard to dislike what he has been doing, and his bat has been better than when he was batting .100 for like two months straight.
  33. If being hyper-focused for every waking hour on becoming better at one's full-time job is so important to so many people here, how do they post online all day? Unless that's their job.
  34. Look man, this is still a bop and it probably took like, 4 days of the offseason, cause you know he wasn't the songwriter. There's so many other things you can complain about Moncada.
  35. There was a time when you could turn off the TV sound and listen to radio braodcast, but now now there some sort of a delay and yhey don.t sync up. Also does anyone remember when the broadcast team switched spots? Harry Carey and partner would announce the first 3 innings and the last 3 on Television. Then they would do the middle 3 innings on radio.
  36. DJ rules. It’s so refreshing to flip from the tv broadcast to radio and hear the booth actually being critical of something the Sox did.
  37. Baseball Reference Odds have the White Sox finishing with 86.3 wins, 96% to make the postseason and 87% to win the division.
  38. 2 points
This is to temper the rage against the last post!
  39. You didn't expect it ? I stayed away because I didn't want to get into it with the same old Getz haters crying about a tiny move and blowing it out of proportion to say same old Sox and Getz sucks while hoping down in their souls that the Sox don't win the division so they can be vindicated that you can blame it all on the TDL acquisitions + Pham while the Sox are 1 game behind their high point above .500 . It's their last hurrah although they are inventive when it comes to finding scapegoats. Everyone probably thought for sure Colson had no chance of reaching 30 HR's before Mune or Vargas . I hope all 3 hit a HR tomorrow and Martin shuts down the Asstros !
  40. Some are saying this was the turning point of the season. Sox took the lead the very next inning
  41. McDougal’s line in Charlotte since being sent back down: 4.2 IP | 3 K | 6 BB | 10 H | 11 R | 7 R | 3 HR | 13.50 ERA | 14.44 FIP Definitely the guy who should get the call to solve our pitching woes!
