It's a truly terrible proposal and I feel dumber for having read it earlier today. Bowden thinking it's good tells me all I need to know.

I am not in the mood to "pony up." The political and economic conditions that affect major league creates a situation where winning or losing doesn't matter and public opinion matters less. Fans are constantly lectured about being loyal and are told to attend games no matter how bad a team is. But, for a long time, the average fan has mattered less and less. Funding comes from different sources and so who cares about the fan who goes to three to five games a year? I am not looking forward to the 2024 season. The White Sox have done next to nothing since winning the World Series. And they have shown they don't have to.

November 25, 2005 - Sox G.M. Kenny Williams rolled the dice and traded popular outfielder Aaron Rowand to the Phillies for slugger Jim Thome. The Peoria native would hammer 42 home runs and garner the A.L. Comeback Player of the Year award in 2006 but many felt the trade changed the chemistry and philosophy of the club that won the World Series in 2005 to say nothing of the defensive hole it created in center field. Thome would play almost four years with the Sox and would hit 134 home runs along with three seasons of at least 90 RBI’s. He would hit his 500th career home run in 2007 at U.S. Cellular Field beating the Angels with the walk-off blast.

A lot of us liked A-Row but I was lectured he was nowhere near as valuable as Thome. Then Frank left on bad terms.

I don’t recall a writer or somebody with a platform coming up with a trade proposal, and then it actually happens. Maybe the teams involved, but rarely the players.

Why would we have been down 2-0 without the AJ play? Couldn’t we have still won the game in extra innings? It’s not like we were losing when that play occurred.

Maybe you need to be a better person. I will not buy any more White Sox merch or pay to go to a game until Jerry Reinsdorf dies or sells the team.

Any chance the Sox could change perception and sign this guy? He'd be great with Robert and his signing plus bringing in Salvy and Merrifield might bring out the best in Eloy, Timmy, Vaughn. Think about it. Signing one player would fix our everyday lineup in one day. If he can pitch again we'd have he and Cease. Sometimes you have to make a move dollars be damned that in one swoop could spark/cure a franchise and entire south side. I mean Jerry could tell Ohtani to wait, that he's selling the team and the new owners could bring him to town and fix this team. It's frankly sad that the Sox probably aren't in the discussion at all. Getting him would mean so much. I'm probably dreaming, The odds of getting Ohtani would be the same as an astronaut walking on the surface of the sun.

Any Sox fan who spends money on the 2024 product should be publicly mocked
