  1. The thing is, because of his inconsistent performance and injury history, no one knows what he is actually worth anymore.
  2. Unless JR decides to open up the wallet a bit (lol, lmao, etc), I imagine this will be the majority of the offseason spending then. Isn't the $20 million for the option alone like $6 million more than they spent last offseason?
  3. For me it's just that I don't have confidence in any of the three happening let alone more than one of them: 1. The option is picked up 2. Robert stays healthy 3. Robert stays productive
  4. So we are just relying on Robert to stay healthy and productive then. What a novel fucking concept.
  5. Something about the wording of "the Red Sox keep saying no" is amusing to me. Like the Padres are just being really obnoxious about it.
  6. Yeah my brain wanted to short circuit reading that tweet. Especially since I had to reread it like 3 times.
  7. Even having him DH would be senseless. Absolutely no need.
  8. I imagine it’s some combination of wake up call, change of scenery, different messaging and absurd hot streak.
  9. Especially if it’s gonna be slick out there
  10. Yep, Fegan just said he is with the team already.
  11. Is it just me or does it feel like an extra year keeps getting added to Beni’s contract? I swear he’s gonna still be on the team in 2035.
  12. I'm all for Getz criticism, but this is basically the behavior of every GM.
  13. That's a resounding no from me, and honestly the $ doesn't even matter. They really need to just move the f on.
  14. Philly broadcast said that was the first homer Sanchez has given up to a lefty this year.
  15. Please tell me that’s not what you’re getting from my post
  16. If a guy objectively does not have much trade value, then he does not have much trade value. That's not an excuse for getting a small return, that's the reason for getting a small return. There's a difference.
  17. I’m very much in the camp of trade anyone that isn’t a part of the team’s future. At the same, I understand needing at least one adult hitter in the lineup next year, and Tauchman seems like a good presence all around.
  18. I wonder if talks with teams have progressed enough where the Sox have agreed to hold Robert out until a deal is done (rather than it being a more serious injury).
