  1. Five hits, lol. Boy our Sox are pathetic. Sad to see that parade of bad relievers come in game after game. p.s. Sox TV ratings have to be ridiculous. Nobody with a brain would watch an inning of Sox baseball. Are Royals coming to town? Can u imagine if they told the truth about people in the stands for that series? Cmon. There won't be 2,000 fans there Monday night.
  2. What a terrible game. Sox have had some clunkers lately. Four hits lol. Sox got the bad Vaughn today. He's such a .250 hitter.
  3. Tex that's out of character for you. You are my favorite gun owner in the world and yet u blast my priests at Bro Rice. As far as today's win, sorry folks we can build a staff around Clevinger. Keep him. That's one decent starter and only one. i've given up on Mr. Walk, Cease.
  4. Great post. If you are a sports fan this suckitude of this degree really can get to you. For instance in a long icy winter it's nice, awfully nice when spring training rolls around. Now there's absolutely no reason to want spring to arrive sports wise. There's absolutely no scenario that can fix this team quickly. It'll be 10 back in mid May again
  5. Yes. This is the team that wrecked my spirit as a baseball fan. Never before in my fandom has a team been so unlikeable. For example, in the past, even last year's .500 season, I could be willing to stand up for the White Sox, certainly specific players cause I loved Abreu. This year is one miserable trainwreck. It "appears" the team does not give effort. It "appears" it is poorly managed. And it most certainly is not built for modern baseball. In fact it is built to lose, lose, lose modern baseball games as it has miserable relievers and horrendous starters who walk way too many batters. The everyday players are unlikeable. Even the semi-likeable players like Vaughn have so many flaws in a majority of their at bats they are annoying. There's nothing in the minors to save our team. There's a GM and manager who appear among the worst in all of baseball. The owner is offensive to me. The way this season has gone with that ridiculous early season losing streak and the obvious quitting after that means this season is BY FAR the worst Sox season in my lifetime and it has ruined my interest in baseball. I stopped watching games about a month ago and I've canceled my MLB for next season. I do normally check the game summary and box scores still. Goodbye White Sox. It was a great run, great to know you, when you guys tried to field a winner at least.
  6. Smart bettors bet the house on Detroit to win each game. Tigers smashed the Sox at GRate. Sox will sleepwalk. Sox pitching is really awful right now. Not a good park for hitters and Sox as we know can't hit. Because the Sox have checked it in, bet Detroit each game. Ka-ching goes the cash register.
  7. I was furious at the pick but to be fair have mentioned that many times since and admitted I was wrong. Like I said he was close to becoming the only player on the team that for me was likeable. I was close to being a Burger enthusiast. ... Moving him to second was such a joke. It shows you partly how the inmates run the asylum so to speak. I'm assuming they didn't want to anger Moncada by moving him to 2B even though that woulda made for a "decent" infield lineup. Burger, TA, Moncada and Vaughn is not the worst infield in the majors. Moncada, TA, Burger and Vaughn is laughable.
  8. Sox play too many unwatchable games for a sane person to buy season tickets. Hopefully most ticket holders will not buy 'em.
  9. Sox finally win a game. HRs from three guys who would make a big difference in the lineup if they had fantastic seasons. Colas, Moncada and Vaughn. I will say this about Vaughn (.259 trending upward). He tries to hit a home run every at bat and occasionally blasts a shot over the wall or finds the gap. Sheets is finished but there still may be an iota of hope for Vaughn.
  10. The team reeks, but Pedro is battling Bevington for worst Sox manager ever.
  11. Your passion is commendable. I've given up long ago. On my mlb.com cancellation it asked why canceling. One of the choices was "team not doing well." Our team blows. They get blown out. When they try to blow somebody out, they effortlessly blow the lead. And by the way Cease is nothing special. He's just another guy.
  12. Exactly. That's what I was thinking. Like you said "maybe" TA. Robert. That's it. Not one of those horrific pitchers, not one. And no on Eloy and Vaughn who are 'close' to be MLB players. Not Beni. He's blah. That's why I canceled my MLB. There's no way possible to win next year. They'd have to sign at least five free agents and would have to have them be good.
  13. Not really. That's why I stopped my mlb.com for next year renewal. There's nothing they can do trade wise to improve dramatically. People are talking about trading our one or two minor league "studs" for oldster Salvy. Salvy will help but you are looking at blah stats from him the rest of his career. His leadership will help of course. But they've got no reliable starters now that Cease stinks. And the bullpen has to be one of the worst in Sox history. They've got no bats besides Robert. And their defense is blah to bad. Beni is one of their best players. Yikes. All they can do this offseason is see what they can get for Moncada and TA. Big deal. Those will be the big trades. Nobody on here has even produced a feasible "plan" for the offseason. Sox have maybe 3-4 guys other teams would take in a trade off the big league roster. Sox will have about 45 wins max at this stage of the 2024 season.
  14. I just canceled my automatic renewal for mlb.com. Hopefully I can still see highlights of the games next season.
  15. Baseball needs to investigate the demise of the White Sox. The White Sox are truly a disgrace to the game. Actually the Royals too. Both teams are utterly disgraceful and are ripping off their fans. For a city the size of Chicago, to have a team this bad, is unacceptable. Look at today's lineup. This team is not better than many minor league teams. The talent level is embarrassing, Baseball would lose nothing if the Sox and Royals were put on probation five years to get their acts together.
  16. Another embarrassment. Swept by the sub .500 Tigers. Six hits by our anemic lineup. Walks galore from our starting pitcher with the annoying follow thru leg kick.
  17. Way to ruin the summer White Sox. Team has no talent and no pride. And they get rid 1 of the only 2 players who coulda made September interesting in following their HR totals. Burger probably got traded cause the Sox were embarrassed about their decision to move him to 2B and knew he'd be butchering that position while their guy, Moncada, enjoyed no competition at 3B.
  18. 9-0? Hope the fans are booing. Who in their right minds would go to a Det-Chi game at this stage of the season?
  19. Asinine trade. Burger is perfect for new-era baseball. HR or K. Why in the world would the Sox trade Burger??? He was swatting home runs at a strong rate and perfect for GRate Field. I betcha the front office merely wanted to get rid of one of the DH types, just get him out of sight out of mind. Horrible horrible trade. Arguably he was our second best hitter. This in itself should make all fans wonder if it's worth following this wretched organization. Gawd this trade angers me still. He was close to being the first player on this roster that I care about as a fan. He showed signs despite being a horrendous fielder. 30 HRs in 402 at bats!!!! Disgusting.
  20. You mean hung over or hammered? Why would he drink before taking the mound? Seems weird to drink before a game. That's being an alcoholic.
  21. Considering the sorry state of the team's locker room (hustle on the field is dismal, no TWTW) a signing of Perez shouldn't anger anybody. He's the closest thing to back in the day when the Sox signed Fisk. Grandal was a horrible player for the Sox. He couldn't hit a bit and provided no noticeable leadership. I would say people should not freak if/when Getz acquires Perez. The Sox are in a crisis stage. Normally you don't have to address intangibles, just get the best players. Not now. Sox need a Perez or two willing to speak up. Keep Elvis as a backup and maybe he and Perez can work on the locker room. Maybe give TA some incentives in his contract so he'll hustle more. Or name TA captain or something to wake him up. I think we all should be outraged if Moncada is back, not signing Perez who is needed to help the culture.
  22. I know you said mediocre "at best," but I ask you and any other posters ... what moves could possibly be made to have the Sox play .500 ball next season. I see the team as being even worse than this year's team cause dumping Moncada and TA (though I want them gone) won't necessarily make the team any better than this abomination.
  23. Yeah it's the dumb Chicago comment of the last many years. I mean my gawd, Sox aren't suddenly going to be a contender next year, even though they play in the sad Central Division. That's what JR thinks by the way. He embraces the weakness of the Central and thinks it won't take long to be atop that division. Sox had a chance to rule the division after 2005. Never happened. Hiring Getz is a huge mistake. Certainly there's somebody in baseball who is excellent who JR could have gotten.
  24. Would the Royals do that to poor Salvy? Geez, Royals. Trade him to the Yankees or Red Sox, not the putrid White Sox. Hopefully for Perez sake he has a say in where he goes.
  25. My bad. Glad he did.
