  1. The big disconnect here was basically money. Robertson got basically a non return because of the Frazier/robo cash. Kind of annoying but Robert and all.
  2. Ryan McGuffy said last week that Moncada felt about 90% with his wrist and when he felt 100% he'd come up.
  3. It is sad that this was like, the end of our trade rumors in one big blast. Rutherford would do well to hit some more grand slam walkoffs soon. Swear to God W-S and kanny better win the damn 2nd half.
  4. I'm not crazy about bragging about Fulmer at #59 like that's a real thing anymore
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 11:37 PM) Not yet, need some big INF prospects. I like Burger and Sheets but after seeing Jimenez, Moncada, and Rutherford coming through those two look average at best There's this Moncada guy
  6. I'm not crazy about Rutherford after his power outage but I think it's largely due to that damn fake trade tweet anchoring me
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 09:35 PM) Pretty bizarre of them not just to dispel the rumor immediately, like the Nats just did. See how easy that was, Astros? Everything leaks from the Nats. Either from their location or something else, reporters have sources in Wash up and down.
  8. Gonna put my guess on someone nobody suspects. That's all I got.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 12:48 PM) I still believe they will get it done. I did and still do, but Moran and Lee just came out against it. I think they can be won back since they did not list demands, but I don't know. It was a pretty hefty statement.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 07:32 PM) You also have your primary residence in your main district. DC is absurdly expensive. Maybe I'm tone deaf, but I can appreciate the concept. I agree but maybe they could also use this opportunity to relax the height standards in DC that cause housing shortages?
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) Get caught up on a very busy week down on the farm in the weekly News and Notes article on FutureSox. Big trade, small trade, injury updates, releases, promotions, in-person reports from AZL, and more. Lots of good notes (actually they were kinda sad) on player health updates. Man, year 2 has been so annoying in player development. Burdi TJS, Curbelo knee, Call ribs. Thanks for the updates on where these players disappear to. Sad news on Cooper, hope he is getting whatever he needs at home.
  12. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 02:12 PM) They have Goldman coming back and added a few veteran DB's. I think they're a top 12 D I'm done relying on any bear to actually stay healthy. We may as well just look at our 2 deep and expect that. It's been so frustrating. How many games out of our all pro guards do we think we'll really get?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 12:49 PM) Elaborate on why he's a ******? You can ask indians fans for the day to day stuff, but when people have a problem with Bauer it's largely around his twitter feed. He has a reputation for being a handful, and being oft-injured most tribe fans don't think he's worth it.

  15. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 01:27 PM) Regarding the speculated trades of Groome and Chavis for Frazier and Kahnle, plus Andujar from N.Y., for Robertson: I don't know if someone has mentioned that, in addition to the overly optimistic nature of this return, I can't understand why our Sox would be seeking both Chavis and Andujar in these trades. That would add 2 more third basemen to our number one pick in last years draft. You could even add Matt Rose to the list, as he is considered a plus defender, at 3RD, with a power bat. It seems a little like "overkill" at the hot corner. 1. Not all of them will pan out. 2. We have no current MLB 3b 3. They could move to 1b if they truly warrant it 4. Matt Rose isn't a consideration for anything. We need redundancy at every position, IMO, for this to work. Because we'll also need bullets to get a TOR or Bullpen guy in all likelihood.
  16. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) Well technically worst case scenario would be Yordano Ventura or Jose Fernandez, right? I think we got to the bottom of this
  17. Good lord. I'm cynically reading that as now that MLB cut them off they are just going to roll with a 20 million dollar payroll to pay for their stadium. Just force a sale of that ridiculous franchise.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 10:15 AM) Y2Jimmy0 getting it done! Y2Yimmy now

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) I would really like to get some of these deals done today, on our off day. I know it is probably a small consideration, but it might be easier for everyone without the hugwatch bs. I'm torn. We could be served well if we become the option for the "me too" teams, reacting to the upgrades being added to the teams they are competing with for playoffs. But I've liked what we've gotten by moving first, and you never know how many teams could just decide to bow out.

We will not have the actual top chip for next trades, but the good news is we set good prices for the top chips to follow so we can still get a good haul as the plan b or cs.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) Our catching depth is actually pretty exciting relative to where it's been in the past. Collins looks like he just might stick at catcher long-term and could be a star if his bat develops to original expectations. Zavala has played himself from just a fringe guy to someone who looks fairly likely to reach the majors in some capacity. I'm still not sure where the org feels Skoug ultimately ends up long-term, but his bat could offset any of his defensive short-comings if they try to get him to stick at catcher. And then you have the young/raw guys like Perez & Alfaro in rookie ball that have some decent upside. This is the best our catching situation has looked like since I can remember. There's also Hickman, but he's been playing 1b and DH so much in AZL I'm wondering if they are moving him off C. The BA podcast after the Q trade harped on this a bit. The catchers in their top 100 aren't even that good! Everyone is starved for it. 100% the part to be optimistic about with Collins is that he could stick and be good at plate discipline/have occassional pop. It may not be all star level, but catchers really are barren in majors on down.
  23. I have been one saying our trade proposals are always 50% too much on here (recently much less so, seems like we've gotten a handle on market), but I actually think Kahnle will return a nice value back. I think it will be less than if he showed off as closer for a year, but, we are 4 months from when we thought nate jones would get us 2 top 100 players. Now we forget he's on team. If we are getting a top 10 team prospect that the white sox like a lot and a young projectable player, I would pull trigger. I'm so sick of the Nate Jones, Jesse Crain situations that keep happening to us.
  24. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 09:33 AM) I'd really like to see Flete pushed to AA once Moncada is called up and there is room for Peter there. Given his age, Flete seems like a guy that should be challenged to see if there is actually anything there. I feel like they can find time for Peter in AAA now. I agree on pushing up Flete soon.
