  1. Bello is honestly more intriguing than any of the remaining FA SP given that he’s only 26 and is fairly affordable for 4 more years.
  2. If Boston wants to get Bello’s contract off their books, maybe.
  3. Something like Quero + Antonacci for Abreu + second piece makes a lot of sense for both sides IMO.
  4. Waiting for him to tweet something only to retract it because he got a text 3 minutes later from his super private exclusive sources.
  5. Quero would be major to me at least. That’s about it unless it’s someone nobody is expecting like Grant Taylor or something.
  6. I’m impressed how every thread on this forum ends up in an argument about Chris Getz.
  7. The White Sox situation could be entirely different in 2 years depending on how involved Ishbia becomes. I’m not going to worry about it for now.
  8. Jorge Polanco is 32 years old and a known commodity. Is he a good player? Yeah. But he also is what he is at this point and will never be a star. Murakami on the other hand is only 26. Is there a possibility he doesn’t translate to MLB? Yeah. It’s a risky signing for sure. But the Sox are in the position to take risks and opening up the Japanese pipeline again isn’t a bad thing. As far as if he’s good, I’ll worry about that in 2 years.
  9. Yes I do have low standards. I learned my lesson during the Machado/Harper saga to keep my expectations in check when it comes to this team signing the top free agents. It is what it is. Hopefully it changes when Ishbia takes over.
  10. I think Murakami was a fantastic signing and I’m also a fan of the pitching signings they have made. They just need to spend more to fill in the rest of the gaps.
  11. “Great off-season” is a stretch. I’d say it’s like a B or B- offseason as of now. Still have massive holes in the rotation and all the outfield spots.
  12. Does anyone know when this was recorded? Getz mentions a significant reliever at around the 23 second mark. I’m assuming that’s in reference to Domínguez but not sure.
  13. He had a 65 wRC+ last year in 193 plate apperances. I suppose he could improve with more reps, but that’s a pretty big jump.
  14. I would be stunned if Acuna could even put up an 88 wRC+. Hope I’m wrong.
  15. Nothing to lose by putting Sosa in LF. Hopefully they experiment with that in spring training. It could be the Vaughn/Sheets thing all over again, but it’s by far the easiest way to get his bat in the lineup.
  16. I feel like Boston wouldn’t do that straight up, but who knows. Maybe include Sosa or something and they include a lesser pitcher.
  17. Yeah I certainly wouldn’t want to give him a contract longer than a year. If he’s willing to take a 1 year deal, bring him in.
  18. I’m not ready at all to give up on Baldwin defensively in the outfield. I’m hoping they give him consistent playing time at one position so he can master it. Benintendi is what he is, just have to deal with him for a little while longer.
  19. Baldwin has been better against RHP so far in MLB, while Acuna and Pereira have been better against LHP (all small samples). Benintendi was actually better against LHP than RHP last year, but historically has been the opposite. vs RHP LF: Benintendi CF: Acuna RF: Baldwin vs LHP LF: Hays CF: Acuna RF: Pereira There are a ton of moving parts here, but bringing in Hays could give Venable more options to pick and choose matchups.
  20. I’d like to see what Paez can do in spring training as a Rule 5 guy. I also wouldn’t get rid of Berroa and Bush as they are coming back from TJ. The others I’m fine with losing.
  21. I’m guessing Benintendi and Baldwin will get most of the at-bats against RHP’s anyway. Not sure about RF, maybe Kelenic if he makes the team. Either way, Hays feels like a natural fit for this roster especially against LHP.
