This is more what I was getting at. You only scratch him if its on the verge of happening. Let him get his 3 innings in and call it a day.

3 innings? If they're hitless after 3, let him go for the 9-inning no hitter, and pop his value through the roof.

Speaking of the Rangers, I don't love that system outside of Carter/Langford/Walcott. And there's no chance Carter and Langford are on the table.

I think the Sox match up much better with NY.

Not a Porter fan?  Walcott and Porter would be outstanding

Barring an injury, it really doesn't matter what Cease does tonight. Its not like the Yankees are going to see him pitch 2 inning, give up 2 runs, and only K one guy and say "Actually, this guy stinks".

Agreed. It's just a spring training outing.

I like Porter a lot. Talented arm, but there is considerable reliever risk with him as well.

Again, the Rangers are a pretty active international team.  Wolcott being the top of that list, but I could see the Sox also having interest in Leiter and/or Rocker too if they think they can do something with them.   Anthony Gutierrez is another one who is super young for his level, but could explode once he figures it out.

A single Top 100 plus more is weak.

No.

You have no idea who the top 100 prospect could be, or the rest?

What if it's Cowser, Bradfield, McDermott, and Povich? That would be a helluva return and technically fit the scenario Guff laid out.

There is no reason to get upset with such a broad framework of a rumored trade.

Well if they Yankees are in with a new and improved offer and it still doesn't include Jones, their (and others') earlier offers were probably a lot weaker than suspected.

As for Jones, some rank him highly; others (Law) don't.  I suspect that the Sox do.

I also don't see a lot of other Yankees prospects that are particularly compelling.

True, which is why it’s such a weird way to word it.
