All correct. They are seemingly one year ahead of schedule, which isn't a bad thing, but the window is now wide open for them, and they have to take advantage. Caleb will be entering Year 3 next year. His Year 3, 4 & 5 is the window. If he continues to progress, they'll be giving him a mega deal at some point, which will make things much harder to navigate. They have to take advantage during this window.

It's why I'd bet good money that the Bears end up with one of Garrett/Crosby/Hendrickson in the offseason. All would come at different costs, but if Garrett,  or even Crosby were on the 2025 Bears, I think they are considered a Super Bowl favorite this year. It's such a glaring need at an impact position. The time to make the big swing is here, to try and put this team over the top and make a run for the next 2-3 seasons.

I was completely against a Parson's, Garrett, Crosby move last year...this off-season it has to be on the table for the right offer.  I also expect JJ and Moore to be potential "sweetener's" in such a trade. I  don't like losing draft capital and clearly the most draft friendly route is to find a way to Hendrickson in - but coming off injury and being older, there is obviously some risk there, but Bears absolutely can move cap money around to make it happen and I am expecting they make a splash.

That said - I'm also fine if they move up in the draft a bit and opt for a different route - but they got to find a way to address the pass rush.  Fun place to be for sure and I'm just going to enjoy this one day and one game at a time! House money this year - keep the ride rolling!!!

They will have to do some pretty decent cap work to get a guy like that in here.

Which can always be done in the NFL. There is always a way to kick the can down the road, restructure deals. Usually at some point, there needs to be a "reset" to get rid of a bunch of bad money, Poles did that first year he got to the Bears (to fix the cap he inherited from Pace) but windows open and close so fast in the NFL, they have to take advantage now.

You'd have to give up some serious capital to acquire a Garrett or Crosby, but the hope would be you're picking between 27-32 in the first round the next few years. There is no better time than this offseason to go all in.

Yeah they'd need to cut Edmunds and some other guys to make room for a guy making $30 million a year. Their current cap space next year is around $10 million and that's without re-signing guys like Byard. They can backload the contract and get creative, but they would then be pretty strapped for space the next few years.

Honestly if they have to trade draft assets for someone I'd rather trade up for Rueben Bain. If he keeps playing like he did this past weekend he's going top 10. Would you rather trade 2 firsts for a guy with 5 years of control on a rookie contract or 2 firsts for a guy over 30 that's gonna require $30 million a year? I'd rather do the former.

I absolutely think this is fair. I would have done that for Abdul Carter. Maybe I would have regretted it given some of the leadership challenges he's faced, but he is an elite level talent and while I acknowledge there is always risk getting an unknown player, the value of that contract is not lost on me.  Quite frankly - I almost prefer it, knowing what we are trying to accomplish here and if you do it right, you could trade up for a high end 1st round end and at the same time give a 2 year deal to Hendrickson.

They have quite a few levers to create material cap space, some of which just require minor moves around JJ and Edmunds contract (not even getting rid of them).  And if they also have ability to make tweaks to Moore's as well (or trade him).  Kmet has some flexibility in his deal too (or ability to trade).  JJ same way.

Than in another year - they have flexibility in terms of Jarett and the Colts guy being far more moveable, plus Edmunds deal coming off the books, so it isn't as if they are just pushing chips out a year.

Try fixing Raiders Dolphins Browns...especially the latter two.

$99 million cap hit with Tua.

Browns are determined to have D.Watson on roster next year.

And only Moore/Mendoza at top of most draft boards.
