Two in a row? Sox at Pirates 7/19 5:40 CDT

Recommended Posts

The 35 pitches seen by the Sox in the first last night are the most Pirates have had to throw to start a game all season. Would like to see them keep making pitchers work.

Would also like to see Sosa in the IF and Quero at DH, but alas.

I assume it will happen when guys are dealt and Rojas is released.

I dont think they want Quero facing too many RHP. His ops is 565. As opposed to 983 when facing LHP. He does have more games and AB against RHP though. They seem to be slowly working it in.

Trade Teel for a young ready to go outfielder at this point. Pointless to keep him if you aren't going to play both of them. And so far, Quero looks better (and switch hits).

How is it pointless to not play a catcher and back-up catcher every day ?  Actually, that is an ideal situation.

Because they are both key pieces to the future. Are you always going to sit one of your best bats every game? Seems dumb!

This.  You have a line up of places you could be letting them both hit in, and instead you bench a promising bat.  It's dumb.

They are hitting Houser hard so far. Hopefully they won't have much to show for it.

EDIT: Nope! Leadoff triple is stranded. The Pirates are real bad.

Man, Meidroth needs to keep the tag on the guy at second instead of showing his glove to the ump as he slid clear past the base. That review could have gone against us.

I think that was Colson?

Yeah, if they’re literally 2 of your best young bats, they should both be in the lineup daily. Tray is just fuckin dumb
