This is ridiculous greg and you know it. Trading your immediate talent for guys who aren't in the majors is most definitely tanking. You're playing dumb here for the sake of being stubborn.4 points

"Eloy knocking in Yoan" is music to my fucking ears. Hook it to my veins for the next 5 years plz3 points

That’s 4-3 so far on the stretch that was supposed to banish us back to the dregs of the AL2 points

Cease looks better today. 4 strikeouts, no walks through 2 innings. He has given up 4 hits and two runs, but 3 of the hits were a bit unlucky. A grounder up the middle in the first. A totally sawed off double in the second where the guy was fooled but flared something just inside the foul line. The ball didn't even make it out of the infield dirt, but went for two bases. He did fall behind one batter and grooved a 3-1 fastball for a double that bounced off the wall. The fourth hit was a roller that found a hole in the infield. He's been ahead of most everyone and has only been hit hard once or twice. Not the best I've seen him look, but better than his recent outings for sure. Let's see how he looks in the later innings.2 points

I am 90% sure, greg is a prototype for the Russian Twitter bots.2 points

If he is for real as a DH and backup catcher it would start showing us where this team could be headed.2 points

Ok. Cool. Great point. He had a bad week and a half. Then after 2 more ABs you said he was free falling. Then he hit a dinger. Great, should I use that 1 AB sample size to project him? Saying he was "free falling" and "down to .303" seem overly negative and critical of a guy that has done nothing but impress this year.2 points

Well, if you consider Collins the backup instead of McCann, he will be minimum. I am okay with Tilson as a fourth OF. Maybe Palka can be on the bench next year. Leury won't make too much next year either, maybe $2 - 2.5M? There's 4 bench guys right there not making much.1 point

Okay, now yank him. Still pretty sweet to see him throwing 97 at 100 pitches. But man, get a new pitching coach in here to help him with his repertoire if Cooper can't.1 point

I remember being told a month before it was announced that it was a done deal to the Cubs. Could have been #scoopcity for me1 point

He hasn't looked good but honestly, if he can squeak out 2 more scoreless innings, 3 ER in 6 innings in Texas is a success.1 point

True...but Benetti as improved remarkably as the team has given him something to talk about.1 point

Seems fairly obvious to me at least. He had it and lost it on the transfer.1 point

So lopez has a shit changeup and shit slider. That wouldn't even make him a serviceable reliever. He's a thrower, that's all.1 point

Not a good sign for Leury. Might be a long ass day for "I never throw a ground ball" Reynaldo Lopez with Cordell in CF flanked by the hapless Eloy and the mediocre at best Tilson.1 point

Also, feel free to move this to the minor league section. Probably where it belongs.1 point

You said his OPS is "free falling" at .850. That is a terrible insight. Plus what is the point? Letting people you know he stinks? Is overrated? Having a bad week? Keep in mind his last game as the All Star game, in which he had a 2B and a 3B. It isn't like he forgot how to play. And it isn't like he is being overmatched.1 point

Could we attach the shock wires to the testicles? Might see rapid dramatic improvement!1 point

Dealing your "ace" two years in a row is most definitely a tank. Also: There are a lot of OF prospects in the system that could take the RF spot, or move Robert to a corner. You can have Tilson in RF in the meantime. Or maybe Basabe or Rutherford or Adolfo or Gonzalez or even Walker. They are all at different stages of development, but if we are talking about '20 or '21, one of those names might be up with the team...or even traded for a controllable young RFer.1 point

If I go out and get food on my break and I'm meeting up with friends, it's usually something quick (like your Subway example) except we sit and talk for a while. Don't really have the time to go to a nicer place and be served unless my boss is out of the office and I know I can get away with it.1 point

I need Will Smith on this team next year regardless of what happens with Colomé.1 point

I would imagine the Sox want to stagger the service time thing / callups a bit so that they dont have 14 guys all in their final arb year at the same time.1 point

Cmon man, have some patience. I sorta understand wanting Cease up, but Robert 100% should not be in the bigs before late May 2020. Show a sliver of restraint.1 point

I don't think the cupboard is that bare. They may not currently be ranked top 100, but there is still a chance the Rutherfords, Dunnings, Burdis, Adolfos, Basabes, Walkers and even the Gonzales and the Pilkingtons could become something. We don't know what Burger might do, and heck, I'm still hopeful for Ian Hamilton and Ryan Burr.1 point

If Cooper remains pitching coach, might need to get netting in front of the outfield bleachers as well1 point
-
I have always hated nets, but with the golf balls they use now coupled with the lack of attention in the stands whether its texting or taking selfies or whatever, it must be done.1 point
-
The best argument is the "People need to pay attention" argument. People buy concession. The beer guy sells in the "pay attention" seats. They can stop selling in those areas or they can extend the nets so everyone is safer and no one notices.1 point
