Caulfield just wants to make sure our expectations are not too high and if they are, make sure they go down. There is an exciting young team in San Diego that needs our attention more8 points

I love the game threads. First the bottom of the lineup was a blackhole, Madrigal not playing WTF, and they proceed to collect a bunch of hits. Then Encarnacion hitting 4th so bad so terrible that he proceeded to hit a 3 run bomb and RBI single. Then its DFA Cordero and drop Cishek into a bottomless pit even though we're staring at guys like Bernardo Flores and Alex McRae now in the bullpen. Then its McRae is going to turn this into a save situation fast. Then you see the critical guys saying I will keep criticizing if they keep doing this well aka " I am right if they suck and if they are good I am responsible because I used the old reverse Jinx."6 points

I’m so fucking confused right now, hopefully that’s just me waking from a drunken stupor5 points

We are 3-0 since my son was born. I will start taking donations for any expenses to make sure it keeps going.5 points

Wait, this can't be right. I was told the pitchers don't like Grandal.4 points

They just need rest and some more IPs from their starters. The bullpen really has not been bad as evidenced by winning 4 games in a row and what 11 of last 13?4 points

When you can name multiple pitchers claiming they are overused, I think the problem may not just be the manager guys3 points

I'm looking forward to not Steve Cishek breaking the dfa of the real Cishek.3 points

An easy half- measure would be to play an echoey Hawk recording over the stadium P.A. system when there’s a home run, like the Phillies do with a recording of Harry Kalas’s “Outta Here!”3 points

Gio threw a no hitter and has helped anchor this staff. What does he have to earn back?3 points

Keuchel (5 - 2, 2.42 ERA) vs Harvey (0 - 2, 14.09 ERA). Sox are 25-15, 10 games above .500 for the first time since May 2016 and are first in the division. Royals are 14 - 26. Last time out Keuchel was apparently battling stomach pain issues. Keuchel pitched 5 innings against the Twins (9/1) giving up 1 run (0 ER). Harvey last “pitched” against the Sox for a brief appearance (9/3) , but his last start came against the Indians (9/1) where he went 1.1 innings and gave up 5 runs and three home runs. Let’s goooooooooooooooooooooooo.2 points

We need robo umps badly. It's one thing for him to call the strike on Yolmer on 3-1...I get it it's 3-1. But that's on a full count. You can't be making mistakes like that as an umpire on a full count.2 points

People who think Cordero should be DFA'd after Ricky insists on pitching him every day sure is a take.2 points
-
Cordero is useful. He just shouldn't pitch every game in high leverage situations.2 points
-
DFA Cordero and tell Cisheck to get the hell away forever. Ricky can’t help himself with either. And I understood not giving up a big piece for a SP, but not getting any bullpen help at the deadline was a giant mistake. They had to already known the Bummer prognosis. There were a handful of steady RP’s that went for cheap2 points

Almost blew a game the other day and gives up a 1st pitch meatball next appearance. If he can’t be trusted to eat an inning with a big lead he serves no purpose.2 points

I will give Mazara credit he has realized the power isn't there and changed his whole approach. Kudos to him.2 points

Is there such thing as a Nomar fan? Let's be honest he's been complete dogshit with the exception of the last 5-6 games2 points

Pitching isn't as consistent as Dallas and he isn't as vocal. What Dallas did earlier this season to rev up the players was something I've been looking for in a team leader for ages.2 points

I want Bauer, not Quintana. Another TOR is needed if we want to be a legit WS contender.2 points

Don’t get the Yolmer hate. With Keuchel on the mound, I think it’s a good idea to play your best defensive infield, especially on the left side.2 points

That bottom 3 is a black hole I would've put Mendick at 3b and kept Madrigal at 2b, but why do that when you can just hand a start to Yolmer fucking Sanchez?2 points

I expected this thread to be about the three way chase for the division, similar to 2006. But, um, what?2 points

I won't say any more about that poster, cause the mods don't want me to derail threads like people say I do, except to say if he likes Abreu, he sure kept up the schtick a long time last year. Whenever he did badly he ripped him mercilessly and also got on him almost daily for chewing tobacco. If it's a game he's playing, yes, admittedly he got me cause I worship Abreu so to speak. I usually despise one or two Sox myself but I decided to enjoy this covid-shortened season no matter what. Just having baseball taking my mind off the riots and Covid has been great. I can honestly say the only Sox I'm close to despising are some of our lousy relievers as well as Delmonico. I feel more sad for Delmonico than anger toward him. He just can't hit MLB.2 points

Best part of that catch IMO wasn't even the dive - it was the first step. It is hard to tell from the camera angle but it looks like he is basically sprinting full speed after one step on a perfectly straight line directly to where the ball lands. Incredible read.2 points
