  1. It's not that big of a deal honestly. A storm moved in quickly and dropped a deluge in a matter of seconds. It could have happened to anyone, just mindless clickbait and more doomposting for Sox fans. Who cares

  2. 2nd best run differential in MLB. Extrapolate that and the metrics say we win 100+ games.

  3. So if the Sox pull Perez, they will have been the first team in MLB history to have their starters give up 0 runs in the first four games of a season. What a crazy sport this game is.

  6. Yes, every team would be younger if you eliminate there older players from the calc.

  7. Well since Eder is gone, I'd definitely take 3 random guys. Still a little surprised with the Sox handling of Eder. I'd much rather try him out over 4-5 guys on the 40 man. But I don't pretend to know more about these players than they people making these decisions. It just felt like Eder could still be a big leaguer. Is what it is. Definitely a bad trade by the former regime, I just think its comical how many Sox fans think Burger is way better than he actually is. The Sox BADLY needed to get away from players like Jake Burger.

  9. Guy is in a brand new country and has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. People deal with emotions/pressure differently. He is still a human and we have no idea what he deals with on a daily basis in his head. You are being pretty insensitive for a guy who cries about Chris Getz everyday.

  11. If you had two position players pitching against the Sox in the first 4 games, go ahead and collect.

  12. Clearly the best, most important 4 consecutive starts in Sox history

  13. Jake Burger isn't good though. Yes he can run into some homers. Yes he is a likeable guy. No, Eder did not work out. But lets not act like the Fish made out like bandits. They saw what they had in Burger and dumped him for 2 guys that are incredibly unlikely to ever be big league contributors. Burger has to be one of the most overrated players in baseball by this fanbase. He can hit a bit, but not enough to be a DH, and he can't field a position. I wish him well, but he would have no purpose on this roster.

  15. Luis heard stoney running his mouth so had to prove a point. I'm on paternity leave for 6 weeks starting today. Love daytime baseball!

  16. Meidroth probably has a better shot at being a regular. Baldwin just doesn't have a carry skill, and he's light in a lot of areas. This team badly needs Sosa and Vargas to become MLB regulars. I have faith Sosa will do it, but it's scary to think we're relying on that. Relying, meaning we don't have other contenders on this roster to he even everyday regulars imo.

  18. If by "meaningful" you mean, in contention for the best overall odds at the 2026 #1 pick in the MLB draft, then I agree with you.

  21. They will be bad; but the pitching might prevent them from being "very" bad. I predicted 63 because a)I thought the pitching would be average and b) I've seen worse rosters than the 2024 Sox win in the 50s. That roster winning in the 40s was a fluke, abetted by several players who did not want to be there and Pedro.

  22. Juan soto wouldn't be a solution for this roster. The fact is you have up a productive player for nothing. Except cash

  23. 2 position players pitching against us in the first 4 games. Didn't see that comin

  24. Their projection is for about 50 wins. If they shock the world, they'd lose less than 100 games. No matter how you cut it, this team will be very bad.

  25. Yeah no one thinks he's a slam dunk to be good. Just a guy who maybe deserves some playing time over the Slaters/Taylors/Jankowskis of the world on a team like this. It's like the argument of giving Sosa/Vargas/Lee as much PT as possible.

  26. I think Eder takes the cake, since Hahn (supposedly) had a trade with TA going to the Marlins worked out and then Kenny just decided it would be Burger instead. Perfectly encapsulates the organizational dysfunction.

  27. I still don't expect much more than 50 wins but already have had more enjoyment watching this team than anytime in last two seasons

  36. The idea that someone else should suffer in silence because of what someone else thinks is everything that is wrong with this country. It's why we have depression and suicide rates which are off the charts, and so much of it is preventable by just not looking down on other people for new good reason.

  37. Not sure I love the Mets as a trading partner. You’d have to get Jett Williams as the centerpiece and something about 5’ 6” guys scare me at the moment.

  41. The Sox have earned being the laughingstock of the league, and there were a lot of social media posts about the tarp incident. Most were clickbait and/or uninformed posts, and many poked fun at the grounds crew. And I'd be willing to bet most, if not all, authors of the posts never handled an infield tarp in dry conditions, let along during a sever storm with high winds, heavy rain, and fucking hail. Yeah, the Sox deserve mocking, but Roger Bossard and his crew do not.
