  1. A third of the Chicago market is larger than the entire Nasville metro area. The moment JR is no longer the controlling partner the entire fanbase will be instantly invigorated. There is no greater untapped market than right here. Ishba has to see the goldmine he'd be acquiring. As jaded as the Sox fan base is, if the Sox suddnely start operating like a modern large market team under new ownership, it won't take long for the fans to buy in. I honestly believe that.

  2. Harold, stick to calling Jared Kelenic a future HOF'er.

  3. And 99.9% of the White Sox fan base would still rather take a chance on him vs what we have had for the last 45 years.

  4. Tray is definitely not Executive Producer on that one.

  5. What free stadium in Nashville? Their government has said they have no money to give, they spent everything on the Titans new stadium. They're not moving to Nashville, let's get that idea out of our collective heads.

  6. But now use the Getz logic system and it works: Take an asset and convert it into something with less value for inexplicable reasons.

  7. Harold was spot on in his post, but his conclusion was laughable. No one is paying CHICAGO market value for a team and then moving it to Nashville and immediately degrading the value of their purchase. I'm not sure what people are missing. The estimated value of the Nashville franchise (new) was a 1-1.2 billion roughly. He just paid 1.9 in value for the White Sox. Certainly not a billionaire making wise financial decisions. AND, he wouldn't build a 75 million dollar home in a place only to become a toxic individual in that city.

  8. Eh, just a timing thing I imagine. I would expect him back in Charlotte after Tauchman's rehab is over.

  9. If he wants to move this team from Chicago to Nashville, while turning down already buying a team in Minneapolis then I think he is pretty stupid.

  10. when the white sox DFA you, it's only the newark bears that come callin

  11. If he has an agreement to sell, the control question is already answered. I think most people are using "sell" as a shorthand for "when Jerry no longer is the White Sox decision maker" and not drawing a deep distinction between the physical sale date of his shares vs the actual deeding of control to another person or entity.

  12. Same dude "leaked" the Red Sox jerseys. Considering it's the same model, I'm inclined to think they're fake, because that'd be a weird move by the White Sox and Red Sox

  13. Other than the flying sock and “Southside” trim on the shoulder, how would anyone know these are White Sox jerseys? Anyone who sees someone wearing these is going to think that it’s a Bulls jersey.

  16. It's honestly disgusting listening to billionaires lie and mislead. This is like buying a house for 200k, spending 200k, selling it for 3 million and saying you lost 200k on renovations. He bought the team for 285 million and sold it for 3.5 billion. If he lost 133 million a year he'd have broken even and and we know he didn't lose 133 million a year.

  19. Well if they want him to play at all, AAA pretty crowded. Oscar has gotta be in a bad place right now mentally.

  20. Things will shift again when Tauchman comes back. Maybe just be Jankowski to AAA though unless he rather be released or they send Maton down.

  21. Muncy tried it yesterday. Didn’t like it and switched back to his normal bat in his last at bat and hit a game-tying double.

  22. NYY's homer barrage in their opening series might have had more to do with bad Milwaukee pitching than the torpedo bats. If the trend continued against AZ we might be able to gleen some data to suggest the new bats give hitters an advantage, but so far that isn't the case. Five games is far too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions obviously, but I don't think the Yankess have broken the hitting code or anything with a new bat design.

  23. Can JR use Tampa as a bargaining chip again?

  24. I don't think there's anywhere the Sox could move that would be close to as good a market as Chicago.

  25. Decent, but I’ll raise you one Chuck Garfien with Bruce Levine’s hair…

  26. So, it’s definitely a different dynamic on the surface of the bat, and im kind of surprised there isn’t a uniform design concept on the barrel of the bat that needs to be adhered to

  27. we picture it like jerry is going to sell to ishbia so he can keep the team local but what may be more realistic is: jerry has always known he'll sell to ishbia, the most motivated buyer. and the 78 deal is all about trying to impress him with Chicago's prospects ..so it can stay here. i do think though that Ishbia turning down Minnesota shows he likes this market

  28. The purported Red Sox one is...horrendous. These certainly have to be fake.

  29. Real downfall from the previous City Connects, which were one of the best.

  30. But Jerry has proven he has no problem spending money over the years so why even try another billionaire? **crickets** **crickets** **crickets**

  31. Kind of hard to find a buyer who isn't a billionaire so it's basically a moot point

  32. I think they'd be better if the main color wasn't red. If the jersey was white with red sleeves and black CHICAGO it might look better?

  33. You're not wrong but anything is better than JR.

  34. Or somehow believed, along with with JR, that Chris Getz was the highly-qualified person in the world to lead this second rebuild...and that John Schiffren was the very best play-by-play announcer they could possibly come up with.

  37. I enjoy the people saying "see I told you they would be bad!" like anyone thought their ceiling was more than 60 wins.

  38. IMO, we've moved past this. At this point, it'll all be about whether the team is eventually sold to Ishbia and whether the Ishbia brothers will make a privately-funded stadium at The 78 happen. I think JR knows that his publicly funded stadium fantasy is DOA, too. That's why he approached Ishbia about increasing his stake in the franchise.

  39. Common sense? There is 0 grounds for John Schriffen to bad mouth pitching ninja. There is plenty of evidence that he is not a twitter fan. Ill just leave it at that, I don't want to defend this dipshit. Its not the first dumb thing he has said and certainly wont be the last, I just think people are taking this one overboard.
