I just don't see the upside with Burke. He has a good rising fastball, but the velo isn't very good which limits how much he can get out of it. None of his other pitches have either a good shape or get good results (his curveball is a big breaker, but it seems a good curveball doesn't get you anywhere these days). On top of that, he has zero command. So what's the point? Normally a guy who is so strike-challenged has something else going for him besides he's got a pitcher's body and has "mound presence."3 points

Burke fucking sucks. You can't pitch in MLB with this walk rate. You probably couldn't pitch in Japan with it either.3 points

I've argued this for years. It's ridiculous. I'll be expecting David Keller to spend his full allotment in 2027 and beyond.3 points

Only some kind of miracle could change it. Back in the Go Go years, the Sox were more popular and I think the Sox were more popular in the first 2 decades of the 20th century leading the Majors in attendance more than a few times while winning 2 World Series but of course the franchise took a beating after the Black Sox scandal. When Reinsdorf took over in 1981 the metro area was just about equally divided and the Sox were the first Chicago team to draw 2 million in 1983 and were the darlings of the area. I have always thought that things really started to change when the Cubs came out of nowhere and won the 1984 division while the Sox floundered that year. The Tribune buying the Cubs and Harry Caray moving to the Northside had huge implications along with WGN becoming a Superstation. Meanwhile with one blunder after another by Reinsdorf has seen the fan base shrink and shrink and I have no idea what the last 3 years are doing to it.2 points

Yeah I just don’t care to see any more of his at bats at this point, which really fucking sucks. It can never be understated how big of a letdown the Yoan, Eloy, Kopech and Robert core was. Like odds-defying levels of failure.2 points

In no way is he the future of this club nor capable of bringing back anything in a trade....just release his ass.2 points

Such a little b****. Imagine being the third overall pick and then putting in so little work that you're literally the worst player in MLB 5 years later just coasting on your glory days from college. He didn't even lose his career to drugs or women or booze he just doesn't seem to GAF about baseball. As a fan that's not acceptable. Go the hell away.2 points

Yep. And then even after he saw it do that he didn't even run hard (by his standards). Fucking loser.2 points

If Vaughn doesn't get a hit his OPS will be lower than Elko's slugging after this PA.2 points

If scouting were such an exact science, Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis Jr. would have signed for a lot more, and several more would have received a lot less. But I’m certainly glad you are satisfied with the White Sox international operations. The fact is, there were players available at some point, but the White Sox are always holding on to a decent size of their allotment. The strategy hasn’t work other than for JRs bloated wallet.2 points

And Getz was terrible at developing consensus 1st round talent over and over again.2 points

I mean you literally made up a Hahn quote that he never said in your previous post:2 points

George Wolkow in May: .292/.357/.500 3 HRs I feel like they've been working with some of these guys to establish the strike zone, prioritize contact, and now they're exploring their power.2 points

Dude had the one bad inning after his defense imploded behind him. It's not unusual for a pitcher to get thrown off his game when the defense gives 5 outs.2 points

Let me be fully aggressive there. While Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams own their fair share of responsibility here, the fact that the guy who ran one of the worst productive farm systems in baseball got a promotion, instead of his pink slip, is laughable. That's without even getting started on Jerry blocking Rick on hiring a real manager, and blocking them on bringing in actual high end MLB players to compliment the rebuild.2 points

Watching the Rays and the announcers are talking about how strong the American League Central is except for the White Sox and who ever beats us the most will wind up winning the Central with the other 2 taking the WC, just so embarrassing. I really thought we were turning the corner but the last 3 games have been brutal. It’s time to cut bait with Robert and Vaughn, they’re suppose to be the strength of the lineup and are just plain garbage especially AV because at least Robert is still playing a great center field.1 point

Bad organizations, bad coaching/teaching/developing, bad training and conditioning staffs, bas scouting, bad analytics...this is what you get.1 point

Nothing makes sense. How do you develop not getting chances, the one thing not being a good team should give players?1 point

I know we were talking about it earlier, but he has to go once all of Tendi, Tauchman, and Slater are back, right? Elko and Sosa can play 1st.1 point

Its definitely someone else's fault they weren't better but by no means is Rick Hahn blameless for what happened here.1 point
